My favorite place to get carne asada fries! They are always made fresh to order. They are very generous with the meat. All their salsas are delish! The staff is always friendly and polite. They have seating outside and inside. Inside does have AC and the condiment bar.

I got the smallest burrito ever from them. The meat tasted gamey, never coming back here again.

I had to come on here and leave a review because this spot is TOO good not to share. Los Chavos Mexican is officially one of my favorite East County finds! Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and made with care. The carne asada was juicy and perfectly seasoned, the tortillas tasted homemade, and the rice and beans were full of flavor (not bland like some places ). The salsa had the perfect kick without overpowering the food. You can tell they don't cut corners here. The portions were generous, the food came out hot, and the service was friendly and welcoming. It's the kind of place you try once and immediately know you'll be back. If you're in El Cajon or anywhere in East County, this place is absolutely worth the visit. Highly recommend!

The best biggest el fatto burrito I've had in San Diego. It's amazing. Just enough sauce, enough shrimp and tasted very fresh. It did take a bit but after I tasted it makes sense they make it from scratch. Service was good and welcoming

This is the Current menu and their prices! It was our first time and it did not disappoint. Portions are great!!! Todo tiene sazonnnn‍

Was recommended Los Chavos and they did not disappoint. My boyfriend and I got a California Burrito and a Surf and Turf Burrito. These burritos are massive and hold a lot of flavor with each bite. The contents of each burrito has great proportions and is evenly balanced. We got a number of salsas including green, red, and habanero which was super flavorful. Service was quick and employees were very friendly. Will be back!

Had to update my review from years ago. This place has become one of my favorite roll taco spot. Service has been on point.

Delicious Mexican food with HUGE portions for a great price! Ordered the California burrito and also carne asada fries. They make the fries crispy without even having to ask for it like I normally have to do in other Mexican restaurants. The price is great for what you get to be honest. They do not scrimp out. Service is quick. Only thing is it's right off of a busy street in a small lot so there's not much parking. There's seats inside and a couple outside. Probably better for to go orders but highly recommend to eat fresh!!!

Carne asada burrito wasn't too bad. Good SIZE but the meat LACKED FLAVOR and it was greasy, if you have a sensitive stomach I would steer clear. My most recent visit I tried the surf and turf fries and switched out the carne asada for Al pastor with no cheddar cheese. I had high hopes at first but the meat had NO FLAVOR at all and the shrimp WASN'T DEVEINED. Fries weren't special, guacamole was WATERY, and they forgot the cotija cheese. While the service is good and fast I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again just for that, parking is also limited and can get hectic on busy days.

I stopped by Los Chavos Mexican Food recently and was pleasantly surprised Food: The flavors were bold and comforting without being overwhelming. Everything tasted fresh, especially the salsa -- you can tell it's not just poured out of a jar. The portions were generous (definitely come hungry), and the meat was well-seasoned and tender. It's the kind of place where you crave the leftovers later. Service: The staff was friendly and welcoming right away. Ordering was easy, and the food came out quickly even though they were steady with customers. They checked in just enough without hovering, which I always appreciate. You feel taken care of but not rushed. Ambiance: Casual, relaxed, and no-frills in the best way. It's a solid neighborhood spot where you can grab a quick bite or sit and chat for a bit. Clean dining area and a comfortable vibe overall. Not fancy -- just authentic and easygoing. Overall, I'd definitely come back. It's a dependable spot when you're craving good Mexican food without the long wait or high prices.

Best burrito I've had in San Diego. By far I dream about this place. Glamis Breakfast Burrito BEST BREAKFAST BURRITO IN SAN DIEGO I am on the hunt for the best breakfast burrito in San Diego and so far this place has my vote. Unfortunately it is geographically inconvenient. This is everything I expect when I order a breakfast burrito. The burrito has heat. Flavor was absolutely insane. The burrito is dangerously good with or without salsa. This is the exact kind of burrito I crave. A true flavor powerhouse and it is fun to mix it up with different kinds of salsas. I adore that you can get the Glamis Burrito with either sour cream or chipotle sauce. I personally prefer the chipotle and the orange salsa. I also grabbed some picked jalapeño and onion. Red and green salsa is also great and that horchata is not to be missed!!! 10/10

Hands down the best tacos I have had in San Diego. I was actually blown away by this place. I have…read moredriven past it countless times and was always intrigued by the cute mascot and the outside decorations, but I was also confused why there was almost never anyone inside eating or grabbing food. The parking lot looked exactly how it always does. Barely any cars and no one inside when we arrived. There is plenty of seating though with booths inside and some outdoor seating as well. The menu is posted above the register and has a ton of options that all sounded really good. They also have bottled aguas frescas like horchata and jamaica. Another reviewer mentioned they are house made. They also offer canned sodas, bottled drinks, and juices. I ordered three tacos: the New York steak taco (their version of carne asada), a cabeza taco, and a carnitas taco. My husband ordered the flour quesadilla with asada and two al pastor tacos. There is a salsa bar with hot sauce, red salsa, limes, radishes, grilled onions, and grilled peppers. My favorite thing there was the grilled onions. They were a little cold so I'm assuming they had been sitting there for a while, but they were still so good. Our food was brought out to our table. Service was pretty neutral. Nothing amazing but everything was smooth. I asked for no salsa on my tacos because the employee mentioned the same salsas were already at the salsa bar so I could add what I wanted myself. When the tacos came out they looked incredible and smelled even better. The New York steak taco was a thin slice of steak laid on the tortilla topped with guacamole, onions, cilantro, and beans. My husband got the quesadilla version of this and it was honestly amazing. The cheese was that perfect melty quesadilla cheese. I have never had beans on an asada taco before but it added such a nice touch of flavor and saltiness. The steak itself was sliced thin enough where every bite was tender and full of that rich beefy flavor. The al pastor taco really stood out too. Unlike a lot of places that use ground pork with seasoning, this tasted like real al pastor. The pork was juicy in the middle with a crisp exterior that made every bite really satisfying. The cabeza taco is what really sold me though. It was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. You can tell it was cooked slowly. The carnitas taco was different from what I'm used to but in the best way. Instead of shredded pork it was large chunks of carnitas. It was juicy, flavorful, and made me rethink how carnitas tacos should be done. Every bite kept confirming the same thought in my head that this might be the best taco spot I've tried in San Diego. I still have a lot more places to explore around the city but this place definitely set the bar really high.
