One of the best meals over had. Tons of food for the price. I had a cheese, chorizo dip for as appetizer... just excellent.

The only thing I can recommend here is the cheap $2) margaritas. Also, if you accidentally forget something valuable on the table when you leave, you shouldn't expect to ever get it back. The food is average Tex-Mex fair. I used to be a weekly regular, so I've had nearly everything on the menu. I choose to avoid it now, after a rather unpleasant experience. It's an authentic Mexican restaurant. The food is kind of OK as far as Mexican food but I thought my enchiladas were a little too melty cheesy. The food could have used a little more pizzaz. One nice thing is everyone gets an individual bowl of salsa for chip dipping. The guacamole was fantastic, tasty and freshly made. Trust me, I'm a California native and I know my avocados. The dining chairs weigh a ton with straight backs, not too comfortable. The service was excellent. I'm just not too excited about the main food entrees. First off! I love good Mexican food! This place however is not good Mexican food in my opinion, I see some people like it. They are certainly entitled to their opinion. I felt the food was very bland and flavorless. Even the chips and salsa lacked in taste! The service wasn't much better. I just want to say, prior to tonight, my previous experience at Los Cocos has always been pleasant. The food is okay and service is above mediocre. Let's skip the fillers and straight to the points...multiple things that happened. 1. When I was midway finished with my food (Grilled Lime Chicken without the beans), I found an uncooked piece of chicken underneath the second piece of Grilled Chicken I haven't touched. It wasn't even a sliver of meat, it was about 1/2"x2" size. At first, I thought it was just a piece of vegetable hiding underneath the chicken. As I examined the foreign material in my dish with a flash light, used the napkin to sop the marinade, cut through it, it was clear it was a raw piece of chicken. 2. When the waiter came by and asked how the food was, I pointed out to the raw piece of meat on my dish and said "I think this is a piece of raw chicken". His response was "That's not chicken, that's onion or something." I then replied "No, that's not onion." He just stood there, basically just shrugged his shoulder like "eh" and walked away without and apologizing. At this time, I thought he was about to get the manager and let him know about the situation. 3. So I waited and waited but no manager. I had to waive another waiter after taking care of her customer and tell her if I can see the manager. The manager finally came and I showed him the piece of raw meat that was on my dish. He asked me if I wanted a different one but told him that I lost my appetite. 4.The waiter never did apologize once for the situation. Some of these might be nit-picking but only because of how the waiter handled things. I was left hanging as if he had so many tables to take care of. He didn't own up for not calling the manager, perhaps he didn't want to be held accountable for what happened. I don't know. This is just my opinion. The manager, however, did take my food out of the bill. I'm rating it solely based on the service last night. I just haven't felt so disrespected at a food establishment before up until now. Being left hanging like that is not what I call quality service. read more

Listen, the food is good but the service sucks. I don't even get my change back from paying with cash, them the staff is sooooo flipping slow to get someone to take our order, Then after ordering, it takes forever to get your food. All I see is the staff all huddled talking instead of waiting on the customers. Three different times I tried to go give the manger HE77 but my wife stopped me. Finally I told the waitress to bring the manager to us immediately . That's when I laid in to him. It's not like this is an isolated case, it happens every time I go there. We thought we'd give this place another try. The food is still pretty bland for Mexican cuisine. I ordered the enchiladas Mexicano and the first thing I thought when they brought it to our table was "Why are they hiding the enchiladas under all this lettuce?" I have come here for both lunch and dinner on multiple occasions. The food has never let me down. Nor for that matter has the staff. I have never had a grumpy or surly host(ess) or server. They have always polite and on top of their job. Never had to ask for a refill. Servers are bad at their job when you see them 3x. When you arrive, get your food, and leave. This has never ever been the case here. Something to be said when you see the management working their butts off right along side their employees. Tonight was no exception. Tonight we had Andrew as our server and he was on point. Was personable, prompt, and super friendly. Wife gets the same thing every time, the enchiladas Los Cabo's which is always amazing. I got the Monterrey platter which is my new favorite thing with a side of beans and rice. 8 year old son was thrilled with his taco and french fries. Wife had a on special frozen margarita. Was a little heavy handed on the tequila for a frozen drink but was all in all good. Can't go wrong with a Modelo negro and mt dew either :). We eat here at least once a week. The flavor of the meat is wonderful. It is not over seasoned like at most places. If you want too many spices in your food go to Taco Bell. This is a real Mexican restaurant. Even after we both eat (we order off the ala carte menu) and have a house margarita (only $1.99 every day) we only spend about $20. Yes this includes a 20% tip! First time and I loved it! I WILL come back here and definitely for my birthday since I was told you get a sombrero on your head! I can't have gluten, and I was SO pleased to see that everything gluten free was clearly labeled on the menu! I didn't need an allergen list for once. Right next to the title of the entree it says "gluten free" in a little circle if it is gluten free. I got the chilaquiles, and I ate all of them! This place was soooo awful. Me and my wife decided to eat dinner here Because there was nowhere else to eat that sounded good and we had Not eaten there before. Well big mistake, food was cold taco salad shell my wife had was stale. my wife's taco salad was in a pool of Grease, she needed a new plate to transfer over. Seriously there was at least a quarter inch of grease at the bottom of the plate between the shell and the plate.The waiter was impatient. Bathrooms were falling apart and no toilet paper yes I had to use the restroom after eating. The men's urinal was falling off the wall. There was no soap in the bathroom. this place was an absolute mess. Why people come here I will never know.And if you don't believe me just go try it yourself. But be where you have been warned. I also want to note that the waiter never delivered our check I had to wait by the front door to get their attention to deliver me my check yes I only gave him five dollars for a $33 meal which was pretty good considering who was only at my table twice. read more

My wife, son and I tried this place yesterday as we were looking for some good Mexican and was disappointed. The server and staff were very nice and checked on us frequently, but the food was bland, no flavor. My son is usually a Salsa lover but wanted nothing to do with the salsa, we ordered the queso and that was good. Thank you Los Cocos Derby for giving me by far the worst customer service I have received in quite some time. The level of rudeness was appalling. Furthermore, the manager himself was the rude individual. Upon ordering my to-go al a carte food, I was advised my chips and salsa would be additional charge - I asked him for no onions on my food - I was advised onion is on everything - and ultimately I was advised if I didn't like all of the above, I could leave. I simply let him know all of that was fine and thank you for letting me know. Following his behavior, he stood and laughed with staff as my order was processed. Shocked. Appalled. Los CoCo's and I have a love/like relationship. I feel like I'm cheating on La Hacienda, which is usually excellent as well. However, I was blown away by the excellent service last night at Los CoCo's. The food was great, I had a taco salad and my boyfriend had the chimichanga. The salsa is spicy, but not too spicy, not watery either. This is not a 3 star restaurant in my opinion, at least a four. Drink specials are awesome although the margarita's are quite sweet. read more

We decided to have lunch here on Cinco Do Mayo last year. Perhaps the empty parking lot should have given us a clue. This is my go to! I'm here at least twice a week if not more, for the last two years. I ask for Caesar every time and he never disappoints. He knows my order like it's my name haha. I always get the carne asada taco lunch special with extra pico de gallo and the spicier sauce with my chips.
