Another place I visit when I'm in Tally because the margaritas are good and the food is super cheap. We had a great server who was very attentive and quick.....I managed to order this pick 3 combo for $12 which is a really good deal. If you judge the quality of Mexican restaurants based on their chips and salsa this place is a 10/10. It is the spot to go if you want good Mexican food at a decent price in Tally. The drinks are on point; highly recommend getting a pitcher of margs or Dos Equis if you're in a larger group. I ended up getting the Skinny Bikini Margarita- a skinny margarita with a white claw in it. I've never seen that before and I don't know why more places don't offer it- such a great choice. For food I did the black bean quesadillas, which were very delicious and filling. The service wasn't the best and are table was rather wobbly, which are the only reasons why I dropped to 4 stars. read more

In general I like the vibe Mexican restaurants have, you get that vibe here as well. It's a good place to celebrate a birthday since it's spacious and the staff cooperates very well. I stopped in here around 10:30 on a Saturday night and grabbed some food while I waited for a concert to start at Atmosphere Pub next door. The good: The place was not busy at all, service was prompt and everyone was super nice. I ordered #20, a sampler, and tried a little of everything. It was all good but nothing to write home about. My favorite item on the sampler was the fried jalapeño poppers. The bad/notsurewhattothink: The meat in the tamal was either over cooked or old--in either case, very dry. And the music was... different. They were playing Mexican club music over the sound system which was weird but possibly necessary considering this restaurant is situated between a rock bar (Atmosphere) and a club (Tabu). Will I return? Probably. The food is decent, the atmosphere relaxed, the staff friendly and the bathrooms clean. Also, while the music was weird, I can't say that I don't prefer it to the ranchera and mariachi most places play. This is a good place to chill while waiting for a crappy band to get off the stage next door. read more

Food is good but the staff is rude and racist. Every time I go to pick up my order it takes up to 30mins! Their staff made assumptions based on my looks and kept talking to me in Spanish even when I talked to them in English. Not every brown person is Hispanic! They made quite a few remarks about me. Definitely not worth the trouble. Can't have it delivered so pick up was a good option but it's issue after issue and nothing but headaches at this point. read more

I went and got lunch here one day during my lunch break. I had tried to call the restaurant several times to place an order for pickup, but they didn't pick up. When I arrived 10 minutes later, it didn't look to crowded (though it could have cleared up in those ten minutes) but there wasn't anyone behind the bar where the phone is and where they take to-go orders, so I'm assuming no one knew the phone was ringing. It took about 5-10 minutes for someone to come and take my order, as it seemed everyone thought it was someone else's job/task to take to-go orders. In the end it was the very person who greeted me and I told I wanted to order take out. Once the order was taken though, I only had to wait about 5 minutes to get my food, so at least there was quick service in that regard. The lunch menu was definitely on the cheaper side though, so I was happy in that regard. The chips and salsa were okay, though I've had better. The quesadilla was probably the best thing...it was a little like a Taco Bell quesadilla but made with fresher, better quality ingredients. The rice was okay, but again, I've had better. Overall, my experience was okay. I don't really plan to go back though. read more

Los Compadres is my Mexican place. Great food, friendly staff, soccer playing on the screens. I can't ask for much else. I know it's not the top of the Mexican ladder in town. There are places more Authentic. Where the epicureans would be offended by the lack of offal in the meat. But it's cheap, its close to my house, the guys working there watch the game with you if its slow and one is on, and they give you like... All the margarita for pocket change. I'll go here before I go to Maccas next door. Also they are REALLY GOOD about adapting for my GF diet. I have never been glutened here. read more

Stopped by after touring FSU with my daughter. Service and food were excellent! Margaritas get two thumbs up. Overall, we enjoyed all aspects of the place. Why 2 stars? Because I've never had a server make so many mistakes on one order. --- --- --- After work one day, my girlfriend and I drove straight up to Tallahassee from Tampa. I hadn't eaten much since lunch time and by the time we made the four hour journey to North Florida, I was almost hungry enough to do something really awful. I briefly considered....eating at.....McDonald's. Fortunately, I was able to persevere and hold out for Los Compadres. Unfortunately, our server tried his hardest to give us everything that we did not ask for. My order: Diet Pepsi and Beef Quesadillas What I got: Pepsi and Chicken Quesadillas My girlfriend's order: Pepsi and 2 Hard Tacos What my girlfriend got: Pepsi and 2 Soft Tacos So is getting 1 out of 4 things correct a good thing or a bad thing? If it's baseball, I guess being a .250 isn't too shabby. I didin't hate my chicken quesadilla, but it wasn't anything special. And that was when my hunger meter was red lining at dangerous levels. At times like that EVERYTHING is supposed to taste like the best meal of your life. The staff is always amazing. Two for one draft beers and margs everyday!! If you've never branched off of El Jaliscos here in Tally, you are missing out. Hands down - the best Mexican food in town. Wasn't as impressed with the drive thru location in Southwood but they had good margs. read more
