Highly recommend trying this Mexican seafood restaurant in the Cicero / Berwyn area of Chicagoland. Food: ***All the food here is remarkably beautifully presented on a plate*** Calamares Fritos - 4/5 - very good but not exceptional Caldo siete mares - 5/5 - best spicy seafood soup of the restaurant's selection because it features the most variety including the Dungeness crab legs are incredibly delicious Sopa de mariscos - 4.5/5 - second to best spicy seafood soup here Aguachiles verde - 5/5 - fresh, cured shrimp under lime juice and spicy green salsa ... this was beautifully presented Piña llena Nayarit style - 4.5/5 - extremely spicy to the point where little by little you get overwhelmed Piña llena Cora style - 4.5/5 - not as spicy as the Nayarit style but still decently spicy to give you a real kick Coctel Vuelve a la vida - 5/5 - delicious mixed seafood (shrimp, octopus, oyster) coctel Chapuzon dinner - 5/5 - very spicy mix of sautéed seafood served with side of fries, rice and salad Paella de mariscos - 4/5 - this is essentially the chapuzon spicy seafood style with saffron/paella rice Ambience: Decent sized; booth and table seating Service: Fast, friendly and super attentive

Chilliques and huevos con chorizo. Pix doesn't do it justice. Yum!!!

Stopped in for a late breakfast on a Saturday. Restaurant busy, staff was friendly. We ordered chilliques and huevos con chorizo. Large portions. Fair pricing. Very good! Will definitely be back to try other menu items- seafood dishes looked amazing. Beverages looked fantastic as well. Check it out, you'll be glad you did!

The food is delicious - the shrimp and octopus cooked to perfection smothered in a delicious spicy sauce that's the right amount of kick. The salsa for the chips it's a bit watery but the flavor is all at the bottom of the bowl with the pulp of the tomato and peppers. Don Julio Cantarito Deluxe is 32 ounces of excellence. Only disappointment is they were out of the mint for a coconut mojito. I was looking forward to trying theirs

Chilaquiles with chipotle always hit the spot!!!!!! Thank you for the amazing food and amazing customer service!!!

Decent food but I could do without the blasting Mariachi music. Take out is a better option.

We got to try items that we had not had together before including the goat cheese and tomato sauce with the toasted bread. I personally loved the lamb which was very tender and fell off the bone. The staff were very attentive and friendly. They had a couple large groups that they were able to navigate with ease. They also provided a parting drink for everyone. Our Patas Bravas dish did come out a little late so we were not able to enjoy it as much since we were getting full, but it tasted heavenly with the dipping sauce. The dinning room was fairly large as we walked in and sat close to the door. Pedro gave us the specials of the day and I ordered the seafood risotto ($32). My friend ordered the Fettuccine Fruitti di Mare ($30). Both dishes was good, with the right balance of protein and noodles. My risotto was a bit too cheesy but it was manageable. Service was very good, they stopped by to check on you and replace the dishes if needed. Overall, the food and service was great. There are plenty of street parking around the restaurant. I would come back for more next time.

I visited El Nuevo Vallarta tonight with a couple of friends, and unfortunately, the experience was…read moreincredibly disappointing. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks along with a sushi roll called El Solecito. Shortly after, we asked the bartender to place our entrée orders -- one pasta, one shrimp empanadas, and I ordered arroz con mariscos estilo diablito. There was a bit of confusion when the bartender couldn't find my dish in her system, so I showed her the photo from the menu to confirm. When the food began to arrive, the sushi came out along with the pasta and my rice dish. My friend and I tried a piece of the sushi and quickly realized it was the wrong roll. We informed the bartender, who called the manager. That's where things went downhill. The manager came over and, rather than offering help, immediately hit us with, "If you knew the sushi was wrong, why did you take a bite?" I was honestly stunned by the tone and attitude. I explained it was our first time at the restaurant and that we wouldn't have known it was the wrong roll without trying it. Still, the manager continued to be rude and dismissive. I told her plainly that I wouldn't be paying for something I didn't order, especially if she wasn't going to help us fix the situation -- she walked away with visible attitude. The rest of the meal didn't improve. The pasta and my rice dish were so spicy they were nearly inedible -- and I enjoy heat, so that's saying something. Meanwhile, my other friend never even received her empanadas. After waiting over 20 minutes, we had to ask the bartender to cancel them altogether. To top it off, the music was obnoxiously loud -- not in a fun, upbeat way, but in a way that made conversation difficult and the atmosphere uncomfortable. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I was shocked by the poor customer service and lack of professionalism from management. This experience left a bad taste in every sense, and I won't be returning. There are plenty of places that value their customers -- I'd rather take my business there.
