I'm confused... For the kids meals, when it says "all includes beans and rice" what would you think…read morethis means? That ALL of the entrees get a side of rice and beans? Guess not. When my daughter's burrito came out I asked about the rice and beans and he said "the rice and beans are in the burrito"... ummm yeah that's what a burrito is. So if I got the cheese quesadilla would I get the rice and beans on the side or would they be in the quesadilla? I'm so confused. Also, when we sat down everyone else was served chips and salsa. We waited and never got any so I asked about it. He said, "I didn't bring any out since you ordered asada fries". What?! I didn't know there were certain disqualifying entrees for the complimentary chips and salsa. The food itself wasn't bad just the service was wonky.

I went with a classic lime margarita on the rocks and it was delicious. The glasses are large, so you get your moneys worth, and this was definitely one of the highlights of the spot. We started with some chips and salsa, which were good. Then we paid for some queso dip, which was also unique and good, nothing fancy, but hit the spot. For my main meal I ordered the street tacos and asked the waiter which protein he recommended and he said the Carnitas was good. The plate was hefty and I didn't enjoy the side of rice and beans. The carnitas were middle of the road...I wouldn't necessarily get them again, but if you're someone who doesn't have Carnitas often these were fine. I think everyone else liked their meal more than I did so thankfully with the big menu there is something for everyone here and I would get something different next time. The staff and service was also really good. The waiter was attentive, but also gave us space to catch up/talk. They were also really nice as we closed down the place and were the last table here but they never made us feel rushed/forcing us to leave. Great hospitality, average food and a stiff drink. I've been to practically every Mexican restaurant in Indiana at least once, and they all tend to become the same place after a while, but the fajitas last night were outstanding. The restaurant is in a great location and is always clean and busy but never have to wait more than a few minutes even at peak times because they have plenty of tables and staff. BUT Now it has been a while. and my husband and I have eaten here a total of three times. Some thoughts and the reason why it went from 5 stars to 2. The food is inconsistent. On the weekends they have pots of tamales to grab fresh tamales from (red or green). They also have a small grocer section that hard to find ingredients can be found in (red chili pods, spices etc). If you are craving authentic mexican food that has not been bastardized to bland lifeless food, go here! It is the one place I always stop by when I am in the area. Just a side note, I grew up in Texas and New Mexico eating good mexican food in Mexico when we made our vanilla runs, as well as good Tex Mex and New Mexican variants.
