The receipt where they ILLEGALLY CHARGED US an ELECTIVE SALES TAX PERCENTAGE!
    Brooklyn F.

Food was good, however they had a piss poor explanation for the meals and what's in them. But our bartender, LEO, was very nice, however, he was sitting down in a booth the ENTIRE TIME so it was difficult to ask for drink refills, salsa and chip refills, dessert, etc... Also, the entire bar where my drink was sitting was flooded with water... it took me 3 napkins to soak it all up. But the BIG COMPLAINT I have is that they charged us 8% SALES TAX, and when I asked why they were charging us "8%" LEO responded that the"ROUND UP!" Wtf? That's ILLEGAL! And they ALSO CHARGED US AN ADDITIONAL $1.60 for using a Visa.

What was supposed to be a BEEF tostada. A tostada is made on a HARD SHELL flat toritilla. This is a picture of food poisoning

Absolutely Disgusting food. They Do not take the time to actually cook your food in the kitchen so you end up with soggy, raw food that will give you food poisoning. The staff can't even speak up in person or on the phone loud enough for you to hear over just simply the music. I attempted to call 2 times, got 2 callbacks and went in to speak to a manager once. After the first call back I got told, and I am directly quoting what the lady on the phone said "Listen here you bitch" which is horrible. The second call back was after I went in the next day to ATTEMPT to speak to a manager, I was only told they were on break for the next 3 hours, requested a call back never got it. I did get a call back to be told "wrong number" and be hung up on the second I spoke. I ordered 3 meals and 2 addons. 1 combo dinner with 1 beef burrito and 1 beef hard taco, 1 combo dinner with 2 soft beef taco's, 1 combo dinner with 1 BEEF tostada and 1 hard shell chicken taco, 2 orders of tortilla on the side and an extra soft beef taco on the side. What I received was 1 combo dinner with 2 burrito's, 1 combo dinner with 2 HARD beef taco's, 1 combo dinner with RAW CHICKEN on 2 tostada's were the shell was so soggy if fell apart even attempting to get your fingers under it, 2 COLD orders of tortilla's on the side and a HARD beef taco and an extra rice and beans. Absolutely nothing in the order was correct if you don't even mention the RAW MEAT. I was told to bring proof that everyone was throwing up all night. I was told to bring in the VOMIT to prove that their food did it or at least pictures. I was told to bring in the RAW MEAT after I had thrown it in the trash. The rice was not even cooked AT ALL and was as hard as the rice you can get uncooked in bags from the grocery store. EVERYTHING was cold as if i was getting a person's meal that never picked it up who had ordered 2 hours before I came in. Oh and to top it all off they will hide your review on google to attempt to make themselves look better after calling you a "bitch" TLDR They serve you raw undercooked food that make you sick, call you slurs, hide the review on google, then request you bring in vomit to prove it was their food that made you sick.

As our weekend wound down, we all decided we wanted to go out for a special dinner. The suggestion came to check out Ron Lahody's Trust Your Butcher Steakhouse. It's about four blocks, easily within walking distance for most and with street parking around for those not able to walk that distance, from the Courtyard and I have to admit I was in for something a bit more premium. Lahody grew up around the meat business, though entered it a bit later after some time in the Marines, graduating from Ball State, working in the family business, and then spending 22 years in home remodeling. Finally, he opened Lahody meats in 2008 and then years later made it to the actual steakhouse business. Lahody still owns Lahody Meats in Muncie, recently opened a steakhouse in Anderson, and yet this spot is the original. As a wheelchair user, I was definitely looking for something wheelchair friendly. Downtown Muncie tends to be older and you can never be certain. I'd gone wheeling around the area the day before and was pretty sure this would be safe. We made our reservation for the end of our work day and then headed over to the steakhouse. I instantly fell in love with the place. It's intimate yet finely decorated. It has the traditional steakhouse vibe with a wood, warm environment, a nicely done bar area, and a couple spots that were clearly made for accessibility. We were placed in one of those booth/tables - small yet nicely sized and none of us ever felt over-cramped. I sat at the end of the booth while my friends took the inside seats. Our server, whose name I have unfortunately forgotten, was wonderful from beginning to end. The young woman was very friendly and helpful. Service was nicely paced, attentive, and never intrusive. It's worth noting that while you can eat somewhat modestly here, and they do have specials, this really is a higher-end steakhouse designed for premium dining. We ordered a couple appetizers at $15 each - candied bacon and green tomatoes. I had never tried candied bacon and kind of fell in love with it. My two peers enjoyed the green tomatoes. My peers enjoyed alcohol, a couple brews each with a solid variety available, and I enjoyed my usual unsweetened iced tea. We all ordered steaks, a definite rarity for me. One peer went for filet mignon. Myself and the other for a New York Strip. You get two sides with a steak. I saw they had roasted potatoes, an absolute favorite of mine, and I doubled an order for my two sides. Lahody himself was in-house. He's an older gent, silver-haired yet impeccably dressed. He was introducing himself to customers and sitting at the end of the bar when I left. When he thanked you for coming, the gratitude felt sincere. Service? Top-notch. Accessibility? I didn't visit the restroom, however, everything was accessible and comfortable. The steak? Oh my, I haven't had a steak this good in a long time. It was cooked as ordered and prepared beautifully. The roasted potatoes were nicely seasoned and simply sublime. This was a definite splurge for me, however, as we were celebrating finishing up a non-profit film it felt like a beautiful way to celebrate with friends in an environment where I felt welcome. There's no question I'll return.

The parking lot tailgating before dinner is half the experience. Where else can you sip a drink next to a pickup truck, make friends with complete strangers, and then walk inside to eat a meal that makes you question every life choice that led you to lesser restaurants? The food is absurdly good. The famous Perkinsville Pork deserves its own state holiday. Portions are generous, flavors are bold, and the menu somehow manages to feel both elevated and unapologetically Hoosier. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was chaotic in the best possible way. Everyone having a great time. Come hungry. Come early. Bring a folding chair for the parking lot. Leave wondering why every restaurant isn't this much fun. 10/10. For my entrée, I got the pork loin as well because it was so good as an appetizer, and before that I started with the tomato soup, which was also excellent. She could have asked a manager, but it was not important enough for me to pursue the matter. But, she was very sweet and was very helprul the rest of the time. Pittsburgh Rare steak preparation involves charring the exterior on a very hot flat-top and serving it rare. What I got was not this, as I could immediately tell by the fact that it had noticeable grill marks. They just cooked as usual for a rare order. With a NY Strip steak, you expect some connective tissue, but not this much. It was hidden also in the muscle of the steak. I had trouble hiding all the half chewed offal on my plate. Neither did it have a great beef flavor. This summary from the internet agrees with my idea of rice pilaf, "Pilaf is a rice dish where grains are toasted in oil or butter with aromatics like onion and garlic before being simmered in seasoned broth, resulting in fluffy, separate grains." What I was served was nothing like this as I got buttered rice that clumped together. No effort was employed in plating for appearance. I got a steak on a plate and a silver colored boat on which the rice was piled. The Cole slaw served as a salad was very good. The beer was cold and as expected.

We weren't going to get an appetizer but the bone marrow fries looked so good in pictures that we had to try them. They did not disappoint. Very large serving and extremely flavorful. Easily an appetizer for 4 or more people (there was only 2 of us so we brought some home). My dining partner is not normally a fries person and she loved these. For entree, my dining partner had today's special which was a shredded chicken sandwich that had a jalapeño cheese sauce and the house chips. She said it was very good and again half the sandwich came home. I had their breaded tenderloin which was very good, with nice breading to meat ratio and was a bit larger than the bun. It came with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. It came ala carte with no sides. Service was excellent, exceptionally friendly and really took care of us. One of the best waiters I've come across. Inside is a bar/pub like feel. We opted to eat in the air condition enclosed "patio" type area which had a bit more light, but was also noisy today due to the tin lined walls/ceiling and another group that was quite loud. Made it a bit hard to converse. Normally don't think this would be an issue. While not tons of items on the menu, the selection was quite varied and you could really splurge on a filet or other such dish and really go all in for a more lavish dinner or have a burger or tenderloin, all at any time of day.
