I love it here they have such good food that's seasoned so well and tastes delicious. I haven't had a bad meal here. Their ranchero sauce is so good. It was a Wednesday around 8:50pm I was starving that night. It had been a long day, and all I wanted was a decent meal. So I decided to go to El Palenque since I saw the sign that said OPEN! So I parked 8:53pm & saw they close at 9:30pm & since I knew already what I was going to order I thought it wouldn't take that long do cook since it was just 3 tacos & just one drink called Paloma that contains alcohol. The hostess barely looked up when I walked in. No smile, just a tired gesture toward a table near the kitchen doors. I was was just standing there watching to get seated since it was a sign that said "wait to be seated" I looked at them from the front door & they from the bar just staring at me with a awkward look & thats when I asked "can I seat anywhere ?" They just said "yes" from far away brushed off the awkward start, and waited. And waited. 8:58pm Some guy just came in to drop off some chips & salsa .. thats when I told him I was ready to order thats when he called the server. She came in minutes later 9:05pm told her I wanted only 3 tacos & a Paloma. She left & a minute later she told me that they were out of alcohol that they couldn't make my drink. Usually they make that drink with Tequila like Jose Cuervo or Patron or what ever tequila they have. So either one it was fine with me. I asked why they couldn't make it so she told me they were out of tequila. I thought may be they were out of Jose Cuervo or Patron because usually they make it with that.. so I asked her what other options of tequila they have to make it? She just straight up told me there was no tequila in the house at all that was at 9:06pm I was just shocked that a mexican restaurant doesn't have any tequila at all. I just couldn't believe what she told me but I think I know why she told me that they were out. They were just upset that I came in 30 mins before closing & that was so clear like water. I felt it since I walked in through that front door. I just ignored it since I was already there so I just got a coke product. 9:23pm I was done around 9:31pm the food was delicious BUT service was not the best. One of the worst experiences I even had . Felt ignored front the very beginning & also I don't buy that there was no tequila at all. She could have just told me the bar was close instead of saying there was not at all that was just shocked to me. read more

Located in a convenient location near the high school with high standards for food and service. The service was top notch and everyone on staff was friendly and moved at a fast pace. The restaurant itself is a pretty classic American Mexican restaurant feel that makes you feel at home as you walk in. I love this place! Some of the best Mexican food I've come across in the Noblesville area. The Carnitas are flavorful, tender and crispy. The queso is very good and the chips and salsa are free. Due to my dietary restrictions of not being able to digest onion, or bell pepper, there are lots of things I have not tried. My wife has tried many of those things and has yet to say anything negative. It's one of our favorite date night spots. read more

Well in honor of 2022, thought I should freshen this review up. Long story short is this is my go to restaurant anymore (for any cuisine). I simply love this place. Almost in a first name basis with the staff, they all recognize myself and family when we come here. The portions are generous, the guacamole is spicy and the beer is cold. i used to come here almost once a week. i have never had a problem until today. i went there and the bill was 76 and some change, i told rolando (our waiter) that i could cover the bill and i was going to. he then took my bill and split it after i just needed to know the math of what my sister and i would split so she could pay me back in cash later. he split it and my bill was 90 after he had split it. i then told him that it was incorrect and he never worked with me nor tried to take care of this issue. now that rolando works there, i will not be coming back ever again. its way too expensive for terrible food as is but after this, im done. read more

First time I ate here it was great. It was great "hole in a wall" experience. The second time, I almost threw up. We had to throw away all of our food due to the disgusting taste, smell, look. I am not sure if I want to come back here. The burrito was made of canned ground beef. The quesadilla was disgusting, with shredded chicken from a decade ago. This is the BEST fajita quesadilla I've ever had! Like EVER!! And I'm from Texas and we know our Mexican food! Definitely will be back!

Ambiance: Bright flourescent colors? Check. Mexican music? Check. Responsive staff? Check. Gotta say this place hits all my must-haves for a hole-in-the-wall mexican place. Food: Them. chips. They were served warm and were on the thinner side without cracking everytime you scooped the salsa. The salsa itself was whatevers with a mild tomato flavor but the chips were so tasty we couldn't help but eat two baskets up between the four of us at the table. I went straight for street tacos to get a simple taste of some of their meats which were generally pretty good. The best by far was the pastor which had a nice red achiote color as well a very pronounced pineapple flavor which you don't see that often. The pork was chopped nice and small which allowed them to get a great sear with nice crispy edges. The carne asada was similarly chopped and seared like the pastor but a smidge on the drier side. The flavor, however, was more than adequate to make up for this short-coming. Carnitas were moist, tender, and appropriately-salted. The worst one of the bunch was the barbacoa which was cooked at too high a temperature and not enough long because it was dry and tough although the flavor was complex and rich. The portions were very generous on all our tacos with a good amount of onions and cilantro, enough to brighten up the taco without over-powering everything else. They were served on a double-layer of steamed corn tortillas (you can request flour) which were quite hearty and held up well to the fillings. I also want to give props to their homemade sauces of which the red one was actually spicy which is amazing since most places cater to the american palate which is generally heat-weak. They also have yucateca sauces at the tables which are great spicy hot sauces in their own right. I also got a cup of horchata which was rich and definitely on the sweeter side as far as horchata goes. There was no graininess and it even had a touch of heat from the cinnamon. Overall I was surprised to find such a tasty mexican place in the midwest. There are definitely some gems among their proteins and their house sauces are authentic. I'd follow other reviewer's recommendations and stick with the tacos and horchata. read more

I went on 25 May and ordered 3 Chicken street tacos w/ corn tortillas 1 chicken enchilada w/ green sauce rice and beans Tres Leche Cake Horchata All to go.. When I got to my hotel room, everything looked great! I tried the street tacos first and those were pretty good! Then I tried the Enchilada and that wasn't good at all, the chicken was dry and was lacking flavor.. The Rice and Beans were decent, you really can't mess that up. I also enjoyed the Horchata, which was very good! The complimentary salsa and chips weren't that good either, the salsa was watery and lacked flavor. Then after my somewhat disappointing meal, it was time for desert! Now, before I got the Tres Leche Cake, I asked them if this was homemade, and he told me yes! When I cracked open the container I had the WTF look, I know what Tres Leche Cake is, and this isn't that! I said, "okkkay" maybe this is how they do it in Indiana?!?! So I went to get a piece with my fork and the cake is frozen!?!?!?! I said to myself, you got to be shittin me! I ended up just throwing the whole thing away!
