Burritos, delicious. Service like family! On road trip with nephew, a small trek from freeway but so worth it. Meal prep was very quick which we appreciated as we wanted to grab and go ... we still had miles and hours of driving ahead for Grand Canyon destination. Maybe a bit messy in the car, but we always carry Frisbees in the car as our travel plates, so we came away unscathed! read more

On our way back home, we decided to stop and do a little thrift shopping. After browsing through some gems, the hunger kicked in. The kind girl at the thrift shop recommended a local spot for authentic Mexican food and wow, we're so glad she did. As we pulled up, the place instantly gave me a wave of childhood memories. A small, quiet space with just a few tables, it felt like stepping into my grandma's kitchen. The atmosphere, the smells, the sounds... it was like a warm hug from the past. I ordered the pork and potato burrito smothered in green sauce. The wife had the New Mexico-style enchiladas. Every bite was packed with flavor comforting, rich, and so satisfying. The service was just as warm and welcoming as the food. Huge thanks to this little spot for taking care of our appetites and our hearts. We'll definitely be back. read more

Came on a Thursday afternoon, this is a small freestanding restaurant in the middle of a residential community, but don't be scared! The food is good, the owners are super nice and friendly. I walked in and they both greeted me warmly. It felt like a very nice in a small town restaurant again. Very clean restaurant. Don't be scared by the look of the parking lot, they are very friendly. They accept credit card, but add a $1 surcharge. Bring cash! Carne Asada fries (7/10) - portion size is very generous, got the full size and was super full for one person. (1/2 size probably would be enough for a single person) - crinkle cut fries were very crispy - Provide plenty of sauce: avocado sauce, salsa Verde, and a red spicy sauce - Carne Asada itself is mildly dry, the flavor was mediocre, but they are very generous with the portion of meat that they give you Overall: large portions, plenty of sauce, and good crispy fries. First time trying the spot always been trying to come here but haven't had the chance until now . When I walk in the staff was very welcoming I like that and the menu was very simple the price was decent for the amount of food they gave. The spot felt very homey I like that very much . They also have karaoke outside for entertainment. The owner and his family were Very sweet . The food was delicious thumbs up to the chef . I'm glad I'm able to try this place out because they know what they're doing . I will be coming here more often and try other things on the menu . Stopped by and saw this spot. Pricing and food look great through photos. Upon arrival, the space is super homey and cute. Greeted by a number of people who were genuinely kind. We ordered the 10 street tacos w/ 2 horchatas, 4 taquitos, and a burrito. All for under $60. Quality of food was fresh and delicious, sauces are delicious. Tried two different times to get food and they were closed both times. I ordered a taco salad, which online shows in a taco shell. What I ended up with was pound of lettuce, a few tomatoes and the meat was so salty I had to throw away the food. Thought I'd try it again and it was just as bad. What wasn't drowned in salt was extremely bland. Salsa was so hot it wasn't enjoyable. Tried to get an order of cheese, enchiladas, and was told they can't make them without meat in them. Never heard of a Mexican Restaurant that doesn't make cheese enchiladas; not everyone likes a ton of meat. Spent over $40.00 for it to end up in the trash. Tired of paying a lot for bad food that ends up in the trash. Won't be going back. read more

An absolute hole in the-wall mom and pop shop in Barstow! The location is in a residential street with a restaurant sign and some drawings on the side walls. There're enough parking around the building. COVID: we came at ~7pm on a Thursday. There's currently no indoor dining, only take out. You can place an order by calling them ahead of time. We're just dropping by the area and found this place with good reviews, so we just knocked on the locked door and a very nice lady came to take our order. As soon as the door was opened though, a rush of delicious meat smell came through the door and we knew it's a right restaurant choice! Once the food was ready, the lady brought the food to our car. Food was hot and fresh! One of the best street tacos I've had and this includes California's, Arizona's and Mexico's tacos. Simple tacos filled with lots of meat, onion and cilantro. We also ordered their chili bowl with sopapillas, which was also delicious and quite spicy; the only thing I wished it had more was meat pieces and little less potatoes. Overall, well deserved "little restaurant Big taste" with friendly service. We'd definitely come back the next time we go through Barstow! read more

Driving outside of Las Vegas, my friend and I saw some hot, desert landscapes. We visited a friend and bought some geodes and minerals. Then we drove around Barstow and found this hidden gem. While driving through a small neighborhood of local homes, we saw this colorful shed with cartoon caricatures of a taco, chili peppers and a happy sombrero-wearing man with a long stretched mustache next to a welcome sign. It's taco time! Inside is a kitchen and cashier counter to the left and tables to the right. In the back is the toilet and supply room. One wall had these interesting optical illusion works of art on display. We ordered our tacos. All the tables were taken except for the front one with chairs stacked on top. My friend took the chairs down. That's when we realized the table was wobbly. Luckily, one local customer left and we snatched her table. The cokes came. Then the tacos. The street kind. With onions and cilantro sprinkled on top. We got all three kinds of meat...carne asada, pollo, and al pastor. I ate six of them. Delicious! Amazing! Wonderful! My fav was the al pastor with a lot of red and green salsa for some spice of life. You know what, life is wonderful. read more

A little hole in the wall place off the beaten path. Came with good reviews so I figured I'd give it a try. From the outside the building is small and looks like an old house. It has some signs and decorations painted on the outside. Entering the front door you see 4 small booths and a counter where you order your food. The kitchen is right there at the counter. I Ordered enchiladas with green salsa. Food and service was good. The food is served on paper plates with plastic utensils. It is a true take out, no thrills, authentic Mexican food joint. I don't think they sell beer? I want to try a few other items on the menu. They are only open during the week Tue - Friday I think. That's because on the weekends they are doing catering jobs.
