As we were driving to Laughlin, my husband and I stopped to get a bite to eat at Los Domingos in Barstow. We didn't want to get your typical burger and fries through a drive thru, so we sat down for dinner. Note: You might miss the entrance to this place because the restaurant itself is located in the lobby of a hotel. Our server, Alisha, was sweet and kept her cool because for a Sunday evening, the place was packed. We got the shrimp ceviche, which was ok, but my Cubano sandwich was yummy and my husband got the NY steak with a lobster tail. His steak was cooked perfectly, which I wasn't expecting from the looks of this place, but it was good. Real quick I must mention that the food was amazing and delicious! The service was immaculate and I appreciated them customizing my order. I enjoyed the ambiance as well! It felt good to return to an old favorite! Now Ive gotta tell you about something interesting that I experienced at the restaurant that has nothing to do with the review, but I found it interesting. As I was moseying my way onto the bathroom I saw a guy striking up a conversation with another guy who had just talked to the lady at the front. I was a bit worried for the ordering man's safety so I decided to stick close by just in case. Seemingly the ordering man was rude to the lady at the front according to the confrontational man. The ordering man seemed pretty chill so I'm not entirely sure if that was true, but there is no true way to tell. The confrontational man then said "I'm the owner's cousin and I'm going to have to ask you to leave". I don't know what it was about it, but I couldn't help but let out a little laugh. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the supposed distant relative of the owner would not get the power to do that. He was probably just lying, he seemed to be the type to do that. Perhaps I'm just judging a book by its cover. Regardless all that aside, I've never seen anything like that before so you have no need to worry about that happening to y'all. The food is great! Passing through and craving menudo. This place was close and had good ratings. Called ahead and was told they had the menudo, but upon arrival, the server was apologetic and said they were out. After learning we called ahead, she checked and was told we'd get our menudo. Although our server was busy, she made sure to come and check if we needed anything, while apologizing for not being attentive enough. She was super sweet and thoughtful, and really pretty too! Sorry guys, no photo. The inside of the restaurant took me back in time, since it had that old 70's vibe. It was clean and didn't have any bad odors. We ordered 2 items on the menu, the menudo, as I've already mentioned, and the seafood fajitas. The menudo was a bit disappointing as it lacked flavor and the soup was thin. It could be a different style. The fajitas came out sizzling and it smelled great! Also tasted good, but wish they had more octopus instead of the fish, which was dry. The only thing I would say that needed improvement is that they put too much oil in this dish. It ruins the dish at the end as the food at the bottom was soaked in oil. read more

This place is amazing. We were seated a few minutes before 10 PM as the yelp reviews says it closes at 12AM but we were handed menus and order drinks. The menu is absolutely huge! Which normally means a mediocre dining experience full of white washed Mexican food! It's really difficult to execute well when there are a lot of choices. The owner came up about 10 minutes later and said the kitchen was closed. But he offered that he would cook for us. My daughter ordered an enchilada quesadilla , her boyfriend ordered a wet burrito and I ordered the Seabass and shrimp with a stuffed Mexican potato came with choice of super solid. First, let me say that the portions were huge, and the food was really good! I really enjoyed the Seabass and the garlic shrimp, the meatball soup was very tasty. But the star of the meal was the Mexican stuffed baked potato, filled full of chili Verde pork other seasonings topped Mexican cheese blend. We each tried each other's choices and they were all very tasty. But OMG I'm glad I don't live near this place or he would be totally sabotaging my diet with that potato! The son of the owner is managing it, and he's very cool. Took care of us like a guy who really likes his business and the people that come. The ambience is a little dated, located in conjunction with an older hotel but truly ahead gem. This place is definitely worth stopping out every time I pass through Barstow! Stopped by here on our road trip after our first choice Mexican restaurant was closed. We were less than impressed. The food was mediocre Mexican and when we asked for no cheese on my MIL's tacos they obliged but the proceeded to slather the beans in cheese. She is dairy sensitive so that was unfortunate. We will mot be returning. Our server was plenty polite and offered to send the beans back but by that time we wanted to hit the road so she just ate around the copious amount of cheese added to the beans. read more

We stopped to charge the Tesla across the street and were hungry. We looked around and all we saw was fast food places. We are not into that at all. I looked across the street and saw the Domingo's sign at the hotel and I looked them up on Yelp. I called to make sure they were open for breakfast before we made the walk over there. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and the waitress was super nice and accommodating. The food was delicious and authentic. The chips and salsa we so good! I had the huevos rancheros with the red sauce - so delicious! My husband had the chile verde omelette and he absolutely loved it. This spot was a great surprise. Our luck with food in Barstow has really been miss/miss. We found this spot on Yelp and were nervous when we saw where it was but we decided to go for it. As it turned out, it was very good. It was some of the best Birria Ramen I've had and my burrito was very tasty as well. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were reasonable. My only gripe would be the same gripe i have for all places that serve Birria ramen. First things first the customer service is excellent here. It's a restaurant attached to a hotel. On a road trip to the bay made a food run here saw the asada burger ontye reviews and I had to have it. So we ordered an asada burger and a asada burrito. The burrito big and bomb. It's truly good the meat the toppings delicious. Your going ask so why is the rating so low and your probably going ask that after you read the burger review. Truth is what expected my asada burger to look it didn't. Like when you watch them fast food commercial and the burger be looking like beyonce but when you order yours it's looking like Sheneneh. The burger taste great but I hardly got any asada meat from the pictures posted you get a whole heap of meat and this was just a burger with a few strips. I'm not sure if it's a take out or sit down thing, meaning some places cut a few corners on your take out order cause are you really seeing your meal before you get home and are you really driving alltgr way back. I think not and I'm not saying this is what they do I'm just saying it makes you think. Def would have given them 4 possibly 5 stars if that burger gave me what it was giving other. My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for over ten years.Every time we traveled to california or go to victorville prison to visit my brother.Or whoever else we stop here for dinner?So that when we get home, I don't have to cook, never had a problem until today. We asked to be seated at a booth, the young boy who greeted us told us that there was no booths. My husband pointed out the one in the corner.He says that's for a party of six, as you can see, we're crowded.So I tell him every time I come, you're crowded, and before we can finish our food, there's nobody in here but us. He was steaming mad, so when he took us to our table, he slammed down our napkins and silverware and just walked away abruptly. So I looked at my husband and I said, did you see that.... And the lady in the next booth said he did her the same way. So we asked to speak to the manager.She said she would talk to him about it, but it wasn't convincing. So the manager came and took our order to me she she had an attitude and it wasn't pleasant. I couldn't believe what was happening before my eyes.I really like this restaurant.The food is amazing.Every time we come they're crowded. As you can see in the picture, they have tables that seat ten people. And I refuse to sit in the table, and I asked to speak to the manager to get a booth seat, and the lady gave me the booth seat reluctantly. The food was delicious, I hope they didn't do anything to it. The reason why i'm writing this review is because services very important to me when I'm eating out. We should've gotten back in the car once we pulled up to see a homeless man rummaging through the garbage cans. But, this was a highly rated restaurant for the area. We were nearly immediately sat and I looked out a window that was the dirtiest window I've ever seen it at restaurant, possibly my lifetime. I also noticed a layer of dust on the windowsill and the top of the booth we were seated in. The waitress came over soon enough and was pleasant, maybe a little discombobulated but properly took the order. We ordered margaritas that I think we're virgins. We later ordered a shot each to put in the remaining ice from the margaritas. The food came out quickly enough and the portions were sizable. Of course we did have to ask for eating utensils. When the check came prices were reasonable enough in the server forgot to charge us for the shots of tequila. We left our tip and will not be returning. read more
