Last month was the second time I've used Los Flores to move in the last four years; the first was between houses in Houston just a few blocks apart, and the second was over 80 miles from Houston. Even though it's not a five-star review, I would definitely use them again and recommend them without hesitation to anyone moving to or from the Houston area. I'd give them five stars because you can't beat their prices, their customer service is attentive, re-scheduling was never a problem, and their guys are always hard working and careful with your stuff, but I have two complaints from the second move (first move was perfect) for which I'm deducting a star: (1) the truck was really too small for our junk, when a larger truck must have been available, so a lot of extra time and labor was spent packing the truck so that everything would fit, and even then a couple of things wouldn't fit so that I've had to go back to get things; (2) they put a pretty bad scratch in our just-refinished wood floors at the new house--BUT they refunded us what I feel was a very fair amount for this, when a lesser company might have just ignored our calls. read more

We never received our full refund check from this company. Their mover broke our hardwood floor and never showed up in our agreeable time. We had to keep calling them the next day so we get someone to move us out. They are very unreliable and dishonest. We emailed their manager Vanessa multiple time about the damage and refund check. I'm buying ANOTHER new house just so I can hire Los Flores to move all my crap AGAIN! I hardly ever Yelp, and definitely never on the same day of loving someone or something so much that they make me even WANT to Yelp, but today we used Los Flores Movers and I just had to tell the world how super awesome they were. I hope everyone reads this review quickly because I fear Los Flores is going to delete it the moment they do. We actually hired them today to move about 500 potted plants to our new home and they did it without showing us how much they despised us for it. What would of taken my husband & I 1 week to do, they did in THREE hours! In the Houston JULY heat, effortlessly AND without flinching ONCE! I probably wouldn't rant and rave about how great they were if I was talking your average typical house plants in typical house pots, but our plants consisted of pots that could hold toddlers & adults. We scheduled them to move our actual belongings at the end of the month and I guess I'll rewrite my review if they decide to delete my post for fear that Houston will now hire them to move gigantic plants in the dead of summer. read more

I am writing this review on the day of my move now that I have "settled in" a tad i.e. over it for the day! I went with Los Flores based on the positive reviews on Yelp especially due to the fact that they had a Yelp 2012 Award. The strong reviews along with their competitive prices as compared to the other commonly used Houston movers helped make my decision a no-brainer. They also had availability on the day I needed even though I called less than a week in advance needing a crew to move me to San Antonio no less. Juan B lead the crew that moved me and I could not have asked for one thing to be done differently or better. They arrived a few minutes early, came and assessed the apartment situation, and got to work. When I tell you they were speedy I mean I couldn't even keep up and was fearful I wouldn't even be ready by the time they were finished! All the while they were careful with all my belongings paying extra special attention to the items I told them were extremely fragile. The whole crew was more than enthusiastic and friendly and went above and beyond what I was even expecting, taking all those annoying little loose things that I didn't pack up (such as the swiffer and paper towels I was using to clean my apt at the last minute). In the end when they were finished, they even helped me pack up the last few things that I planned to take in my own car. Upon arrival in San Antonio they carefully and efficiently unloaded and put everything where I needed it always making sure that I was happy with where all my belongings were going. I HIGHLY recommend Los Flores movers to ALL Houstonians who are moving. Even if you have the money to spend at a pricier place, don't waste your money when you could move with Los Flores. I have used Los Flores movers the past several times I've moved in Houston, and they have usually been pretty good. This time is the last time. I called a couple weeks ahead and booked a move for June 1 and was told the window would be from noon to 5 PM. They said they would call an hour early and let me know a smaller window. At 11:30 I called and said nobody had called me. The woman who worked there said someone would call me soon. I called back after noon and said nobody had called me and she said they would be there between 3 PM and 5 PM. I called again several times when they weren't there at 5:30 PM, and nobody answered the phone. They didn't show until 6:30 PM. When they did show, they told me moving the piano would cost $120 when I was quoted $80. We argued a bit and then they said they would do it for $80. During the move they broke a vanity and a drawer in my coffee table. They put the vanity back together and glued the piece back on the coffee table drawer. I appreciated how hard these guys were working, and they were, as usual, very polite and nice, so I tipped them of course. But after they left at 11:30 PM, I noticed they didn't give me the 10% discount I was told I would get for being a repeat customer (the office later refunded the 10% after I wrote a review on their FB page). When I got back to my old house to clean it, I noticed they left a large box of garbage on the side of my house. I am very disappointed in this company at this point. read more

Los Flores movers was perfect for us and reasonably priced. Moving my one-bedroom apartment across town only cost us $250. The movers were courteous, attentive and fast and placed items exactly where I asked, even following special instructions to lay down a rug first or face a piece a specific way. They took fantastic care of our belongings and I have not found any broken or damaged pieces. Overall they were great to work with and I highly recommend them. read more

This review would have been a 5 star one if you had asked me during the actual move. The office confirmed the date prior to the move, the movers arrived on time and were very polite and respectful. They moved quickly, even though it was a 3 story to a 3 story, and managed to move some odd shaped items including a couch over the balcony. Unfortunately, it seems they did not secure my items in the truck well because as I began unpacking I noticed that there were dents and scratches in almost every single piece of bedroom furniture, including a nightstand that looks like an angry bear attacked one of the legs. When I went to go hang curtains, I found that the ladder had been broken and had the legs hanging off and metal sticking out of it - something that you could not at all miss. If the movers had told me that things had happened, which they had to have known since you couldn't move the ladder without a step hitting you or cutting yourself on the metal, and not one but three separate furniture pieces that no longer sit straight due to damage on the legs, I might still have been at a 4 star - things happen, I could understand it. I found it odd that they made me write on the paperwork "everything received and in good condition". I could verify that the truck was empty, but who has time to go around and check every item they own to see if it is in good condition? After finding all the damage, I understand why they wanted it on the papers... Very disappointing because up until the damage I would have said it was the best mover I'd had in Houston (and I've moved 6 times), but now I would say use with extreme caution and make sure the truck is properly loaded and secured, and take a really good look at your items before they leave. read more

I was referred to them from a friend and they were a little cheaper than 3 Men Movers, who I've used twice before. I never had anything broken or scratched with 3 Men. After using Los Flores, our new dryer was dented in 5 places and our chiminea was cracked in 3 places. We ordered 2 trucks to make sure everything fit without having to stack and crush items on top of each other. They stacked something on the dryer anyway. They fixed all but one dent in the dryer and I reluctantly accepted it because we were desperate to have our dryer back after they kept it for 7 days to repair it. I will never use them again. 3 Men is worth the extra money in my opinion. read more

These guys are pretty much exactly what you hope for when you call a moving company. We went with these movers based on the one review they received here, and (thankfully) were not disappointed. They were fast, efficient, and packed everything with care. The entire operation was done smoothly and professionally, with no surprises or hidden "extra" fees. Anything prone to damage or scratching was properly wrapped, they disassembled (and reassembled) all the beds, and they rearranged the furniture to our liking without complaint. I hired them for packing and loading in a rental truck a townhome... they started at 8 am with 3 ladies, at noon 3 guys came to help with the big staff... by 6 pm the truck was packed, and I was on the road. The crew was very careful and efficient. They care about everything that looked fragil. The person arranging everything in the truck struggled but figure out how to get everything in the Penske truck (best price out of the 3 options). The price was better than the competition. And they came to my house to give me a quote and evaluate how long it would take. That other local movers wouldn't do. read more

I used Los Flores Movers because my friend recommended. Out of all the place I called, it's not the cheapest (nor the most expensive), and I was also skeptical about the hourly rate. Some moving company rated the moving based on the items, which gave me much better price. I don't have many furniture, so I was concerned about if the mover will be slow and milking the whole process. Well, long story short, it was fast, painless. Mike and his crew were fast and professional, I was in my new place in about 3 hours. I also used the Los Flores cleaning service. I want the move-out cleaning scheduled on the same day. Los Flores tried to schedule the cleaning next day due to the late time (few times). however, since I insisted, the cleaning crew arrived about 7pm that day and cleaned my old place so I can move out on the scheduled date. Initially we were given a quote for packing and moving our things from an apartment to our new house. When the movers arrived they said that they were not aware that there was any packing to be done and had not brought any packing equipment. They were able to move the furniture and some other boxes we had packed ourselves and did so very efficiently and carefully. However, we still had to pack and move the rest of our things ourselves. It would have been fine if they had said they don't pack things or that we would need to pack before hand, but after receiving a quote for packing and moving we expected a little more. read more

First let me say that outside of the staff at the office, the guys who moved me should get 4.5 stars. I called the office to schedule a move from a storage unit in my old town that I was no longer living at to a new home. The girl who answered the phone gave me specific information that the movers would be there at noon and that they would call me an hour outside that time (11 AM) to let me know they would be on there way. Well noon came and went, 1PM, 2PM also came and went and no phone call from anyone. I called several times on Saturday to only get a voicemail message to leave a message (apparently they do not check messages on days of business on the weekends, or I was being completely ignored). So the guys finally showed up at 330 to start my move. Like I said before they were awesome and did the service that I had requested but the lack of communication kind of ruined the whole thing for me. They were not notified to contact me an hour ahead to let me know or even to notify me that they were running behind, etc. I think if I were to use them again, I would just want to schedule and deal with the guys doing the actual work!!! read more

Im not sure who is writing all of the positive reviews on here but my personal experience was not good AT ALL. When I called to make the reservation I informed the person who answered the phone that I would be moving from a 2 bedroom into a 1 bedroom so obviously before the day of my move I had already sold or disposed of the items from the second bedroom considering there would be no place for them to fit into my downsized 1 bedroom apartment. She quoted me at $69 per hour plus a $49 trip charge (I thought the trip charge was very high). I asked approximately how long should my total move take in order to budget for the cost. She said 4-5 hours at the VERY most. Cool....I can do that, set me up!! On the day of my move they did show up on time which I was relieved about however they were in absolutely no hurry whatsoever to get the items moved out of my home. It took them 4 hours just to load the truck.....We are talking about ONE bedroom size worth of items to be loaded. I was about to lose my cool. I managed to hold it together in hopes that things get better on the other end of my move. From point to point I was moving about 10 minutes away. The guys informed me when we left the old place that they were going to stop and grab a sandwich and they would see me on the other end in about 30 minutes. No problem! Except that it too them an hour and a half to arrive at the other end. Seriously?? Of course I kept my cool assuming that we were off the clock for that amount of time and the only thing they had wasted was my time, I would live. Wrong!! After taking another 4 hours to unload the truck (with me and my friend helping at the tune of about 25% of the work) I got my dreaded bill.....$952. You must be joking!! For a 1 bedroom move??? Not only were they milking the time because they did not have an afternoon job lined up but they actually had the nerve to try to charge me for their 90 minute lunch. I of course was not going to pay for that so after arguing with the movers and then arguing with their manager over the phone 2 times and being told I must not be a christian because a christian would not be this way and that God is going to get me for not agreeing to pay these outrageous charges. Ridiculous to treat a customer like this just 2 days before christmas. Anyway, long story short, my 1 bedroom move took from 9am to 8pm, I handed the movers $752 of the $952 they claimed that I owed and walked away. Even at that price I way over paid for this move. So the lesson learned and hopefully taught to others.....Dont use Los Flores movers for your next move!! read more

I wish I could give them 0/5 stars. I called and talked to the receptionist a little over a month before our move and notified her of the date we needed their services. She said that it was available and she would pencil me in and that someone would not be able to come until the following Tuesday (8 days) to give us an exact estimate on the cost. On the Tuesday that someone was supposed to come give me an estimate (now only 3-4 weeks before our move) I get a phone call in the morning saying that the guy isn't going to be able to make it because of a family death (I get it, things happen). She says she will have someone call me and give me an estimate over the phone and that it will be pretty accurate. I get a phone call a couple hours later from another receptionist asking when our move date was again and after I told her she said that they are totally booked at that time and wouldn't be able to help me. REALLY?!?! I was shocked, I told her that they should have had me penciled in because I called 2 weeks ago and they said they would hold the day for me. Now I have 3 weeks to find a new moving company... Los Flores is untrustworthy, DO NOT waste your time with them! They have left me totally screwed now. read more

The company was able to move me within two days notice but forgot about the appointment I made via text message for 9am. When I called to confirm the move the voicemail was full & I had to text message. There is nothing wrong with that but I prefer to talk with someone to confirm anything. They came earlier than told & was very professional. It was hot in Houston & they offerred me bottled water.They were very affordable for two hours compared to other moving companies & didn't charge me a trip fee. The guys who showed up at 445pm (my window was noon to 5pm) had come from a job that was up and down 4 flights of stairs, so they were tired and moving slow. My 2 bedroom apartment on the first floor to a storage unit 1/4 of a mile away took 6 1/2 hours. I couldn't believe how long it took. My boy friend was working just as hard if not harder than the guys, and had he not it would have taken another 2 hours. I only used this company because of the yelp reviews.... The were nice and got it done but at a slow pace and that sucks when you pay them by the hour and it hits your pocket book. I had to pay dearly because they were worn out. I don't understand how I am financially responsible for them being slow and tired??? read more

My freight elevator was broken so the crew had to use the stairs. They still were still able to unload my 16' long POD in just two hours and they put my bed frame and headboard together. Really nice guys and a very reasonable rate. Would absolutely recommend them to a friend. read more

We can not say enough great things about the Los Flores packing and moving team we had last week for our move! The packing team showed up thirty minutes early to pack our 2500 sf 3 story home. They immediately started to work. We were stunned to see our entire home packed and ready to go within 9 hours. We have moved several times in the Houston area and have always packed ourselves so having someone pack us was an added stress to the moving process...boy were we pleased with the job! Next morning the team showed up slightly before the scheduled time with a team of three. We were concerned with moving out of a 3 story and taking care not to do any damage - absolutely nothing! My husband was so impressed with the team's move of the refrigerator down the stairs that he had no concerns with a challenging sectional sofa which in part had to go out a second story balcony. On moving in to our brand new 2 story home the team took great care in covering the floors and placing every single box and piece of furniture where we asked. A second truck picked up the remainder of items from our previous home and everything was unloaded within 10 hours (8am-6pm). Los Flores came to us as a recommendation from a friend and neighbor.
