AWESOME Margaritas and reasonably price, good food!

This is a great little spot in an entirely nondescript shopping center. My hard to please 9 year old asks to go there weekly. Tacos, gorditas and enchiladas are always good and the chips are fresh and hot. Great little neighborhood spot. read more

Stopped in once only to start coming around more often, good food, salsa tastes like the sauce in canned in tomato sauce sardines, but it's good, guacamole was not a hit for me but it was ok, beef enchiladas though, are tasty!! fajita gorditas and tortas are very good, friendly staff and great atmosphere, yes I'm a fan, looking forward to going back. read more

The service here is based on your party size. I have been neglected a few times due to more attention being paid to large parties. The last time I ate here with my young boys, our bill was almost $50. Outrageous for such a small and mediocre establishment. Drinks are not included with the kids meals, so each child cost me $10-$15 dollars. The food is basic, inexpensive traditional Mexican cuisine, but this place nickels and dimes you. The food its ok , big plates, average taste , good service, chips good but the red sauce (salsa ) it's terrible after couple min makes you feel sick with heartburn cause contained vinegar instead real fresh mild jalapeno, other than this ,I will recommend this place, I mean its not the great but its good and affordable price and fast good service. read more

This is my fav mexican restaurant! I was born and raised in Mexico and love their food! They have real mexican food apart from their tex-mex menu! My fav is pozole, chilaquiles rojos, machacado for breakfast and of course their street tacos!!!! Oohh and can't forget their agua de horchata!!!! Had lunch on today (Saturday) was busy but not crowded or noisy. Food was good, I had the crispy taco plate which was good typical for Mexican restaurant . Food service was quick which means the food was prepared earlier and put together which is of a typical of most Mexican restaurants today. Also had the chocolate mousse cake which was tasty and moist. The chips we're good. Service was a little slow on follow-up with drink refills . But if you are in the area I would suggest that you check it out it is a good local joint. read more

At first when my friend told me we were going to 'Los Jalapenos' - I thought he was kidding. Truly kidding. I figured he made up the name to be funny. Lo and behold, it's actually called Los Jalapenos! And it's delicious!! The food was fantastic (I had the grilled salmon salad - SO GOOD), and there was live music that night. Not the too loud, annoying, you can't hold a conversation loud music, but really good music. I'm not sure who the performer was, but he played everything from Mumford and Sons, to the Beatles, to Country. (I love all of those, so basically it was an awesome date!). But seriously. Two stars because the good service could not make up for the tasteless, bland weakly seasoned food. This is supposed to be Mexican or Tex-Mex, for crying out loud! Absolutely nothing of Mexican flavor involved. The enchiladas seem to have been prepared by someone who knows what an enchilada looks like, but who has never actually tasted one. 4-19-2014 - My husband had a beef and a cheese enchiladas and I had sour creme chicken enchiladas with guacamole. We also had margaritas. We are both very picky and the food was awesome! This place is also one of my favorites, plus it's close to home. I always get their costillas de puerco dish with green sauce... when I say always, I mean always.... but my sister and brother in law usually try new things. Love their chips and salsa. Service is good (IMO). Alcohol (the usual), horchata = always delicious. I only order one thing, but it's always consistent and now I'm hungry :) may go eat lunch there! So my husband and I decided to try this place out after moving right down the street and hearing great things from his grandparents! He went for dinner on a Friday night a few days before we did lunch there. He said dinner was fabulous and the live band was amazing! Lunch time there was no live music, but I could see the stage and saw advertisement for the music. The lunch scene was more laid back and exceptionally fast service. He ordered the mamas queso as an appetizer because he had it a few nights before and raved. Im not much of a queso person, but WOW! Really, really good! There's just so much flavor in a little bowl, plus their salsa is hot which is awesome. I hate going to Mexican reasturants and eating salsa that can basically be drunk. My husband ordered the enchiladas for his entree and I ordered the barbacoa torta! Everything was amazing! I will def be going back especially since I know they have GOOD tortas which are incredibly hard to find! All in all a fabulous experience!! read more

I don't remember it being this bad, but returned lately and had enchiladas with sour cream sauce--which is my go-to order for Mexican places. The sour cream sauce had the texture of gravy. Not a huge fan of the salsa either. read more

I absolutely love this place, the service is great! The waitress are friendly, if you ever go there ask for Salomon, he is great! Fast and always with a smile makes every costumer go from having a bad day to having a great one! Guess What? I speak Spanish too and I understood everything you said to the employee!!! I enjoy going out to eat on the weekends with my son. However, this weekend was not a good experience. We went to Los Jalapeños Restaurant in Carrollton, Texas and the service was trouble. The waitress did not speak English well and she did not understand that I wanted extra veggies with my plate. However, she was very nice. After a few minutes, I did inform her that I did not like the taste of my meal immediately and I wanted to change it for something else. I asked her would I be charged for the meal and she said no. The waitress provided the menu again, however I did not see anything that I would like to eat, so I told her that I would prefer leaving. I explained that I would pay for my child's meal, but she came back with a "discount" for my plate. I quickly explained to the manager that I would not be paying for anything that I did not enjoy or eat. The plate was full minus one bite of the enchiladas and a few fries. I did not mind paying for the fries if I needed too. For example, if I go to a bar and order a drink and I do not like it after one taste. I feel like I can send it back and get a refund of get another drink. So a few minutes later, an older unhappy looking manager said that I needed to talk to a younger teenage cashier, so I did. Both of these employees became aggressive with their body language and in tone. I did not like how she wanted to make things difficult for me at all. She started speaking Spanish and I completely understand every rude thing they both said. The young employee said that I had to wait for her to change the receipt but that I had to wait for the other customers to be taking care of first. I told her that I was here in the first and that she needed to take care of me first. It was the right thing to do and say, I refused to wait whenever she came have taken care of my services right then and there. I paid for my child's plate and I left. I will never go back there again. I did not like how these people treated me at. The staff tried to make me feel horrible in front of the other customers. I cannot believe this happened because I have been up there on more than one occasion. I hope that they become more professional, learn how to speak and understand proper English, and become better cooks. I personally will be writing the owner and the corporate office regarding this situation. At the end of the day, they do have some warm chips and some good salsa, however, the prices a little expensive. read more

I have been going here for years and the food is good, not great but good. However, today I ordered take out and it was worse than a TV dinner! The food was cold, like it was partially frozen -really. I was shocked. The taco shells were stale, the cheese in the enchiladas was not even melted. We asked for extra salsa and we're assured it was in the bag but was not. The help in the front were kids just standing/clowning around. I called to talk with the manager,but was told the manager was not in. How do you run a restaurant without a manager? Don't know if this place sold or not, but one thing is for sure...this was the worse Mexican food we have ever had and I will not go back. Sad. read more

I will never go here again!! Food is mediocre and the service was so horrible. I asked My waiter can I get a straw for my water and she looked at me with disgust like I should put my lips on the cup and drink this water anyway she bring it. Then I asked her for a cup of chocolate milk for my daughter and she gave me that same rude look. After that my wife asked for the alcohol menu and she says we have the drink menu, but it doesn't have all our drinks. N she tried to force my wife to get what she recommended without giving us the menu. After all of this I notice that the customer that was sitting directly in front of me, she asked him how was everything and did he need any water. He said yes and she walked quickly pass my table got his water and quickly walked past me again while I was dying for water, because my food was so dry. I really wanted to give this place another chance had ate here a couple of times before always hoping it would improve but unfortuanly they have not. Ended up ordering the Tacos Callejeros. First of all the tortillas were cold and before i could put the taco in my mouth it fell apart. The refried beans had a white looking color to them and tasted sour. The rice had a funny taste as well. We did get with the waiter about this but he showed no interest in resolving the issue. All the waiter sugguested was replacing the refried beans with charro beans. Waiter stated that they make their corn tortillas from scratch, I beg to differ and if they do they need to improve because they taste store bought. So my boyfriend and I decided never to return but the icing on the cake and confirmation for us never to return was the lady at the register which i believe is the owner. She asked us how was everything...I made the move to speak to her about how unsatisfied we were with our meal. Her whole demeanor changed she became very defensive and sarcastic! She said she has never been told her beans are bad. I was offended that she put me out to be a liar. She straight up told me that she would NOT be able to take my plate off the ticket and really couldnt do much. I WAS BLOWN AWAY that she is the owner and didnt care to keep her customers. She took $2 off the ticket. That place just lost some good customers. Ive had a few of there plates and they all taste the same bland and cold! read more

We frequent this place quite often due to reasonable prices; however, we were totally shocked this weekend to see a major price increase. The "From Mexico to Texas'" entrees jumped 25% ($7.99 to $9.99) and daily lunch specials jumped 17% ($5.99 to $6.99). I can understand a place raising their prices 5% - 10% but 17% to 25% is ridiculous. Save yourself the shock and the trip of getting ripped off. read more

Beware they charge $1.50 for THREE tortillas. We normally get a single order of beef and chicken fajitas and they give you a thimble full of cheese and only 3 tortillas and then if you ask for more they charge you $1.50. Ridiculous. read more

Friday night date night!! We were told they have a Mexican Elvis impersonator performing so we stopped in, and wow!!! He was really good!! I had so much fun!! The salsa wasn't authentic salsa. It was hot sauce (Valentina's) with little chopped up onion and cilantro in it. Wtf? Gross. The large house margarita is good but $7. My date got the salmon salad, but the salmon was dried out or overcooked. The sampler platter was okay. The thimble of cheese I read in another review was a true story. It was barely enough. Good tex mex. Asado de puerco is spot on. Enchiladas are great and meaty. Ask for some grilled jalapeños on the side. A little fresh lime in the salsa, pico and guac make them pop. So good. So close and you just might catch Elvis in the house. read more

Tried this place for the first time. Pretty good! A cute spanish feel. Got a margarita on the rocks, and girlfriend got a mango margarita. Both really good and really strong. Mango margaritas were over 8.00 a piece, but worth it. We shared the cheese enchiladas, and they were really good. Rice and beans were great. Chips and salsa was good too. A little bit of slow service on a not so busy Saturday afternoon, though. With one meal, and 4 drinks, we left spending a little over 40 bucks. read more

They serve BREAKFAST! And this our new favorite place to eat breakfast! The food is great! Have tried different dishes and never had one we didn't like! It's very peaceful in there, and a great place to go if you just want to eat and visit. The wait staff is good - attentive but then they leave you alone to eat and talk - which we love! Best Burger in Carrollton. You have to search for it though. It's on the lunch menu as Cheeseburger Deluxe. It never disappoints.
