Nice local Mexican restaurant. Cashier was kind and the service was fast. My order was made to go and it included warm corn tortillas. Menudo was good but I'm not sure if it was worth the $17 for a bowl. Will continue to try different menu items

    Nothing but rice

I asked for beef rolled tacos and they gave me beef with rice stuffed in between. This place always lets me down

Decided to give this place a try, and it was so good!! The people working there, the owner, is very welcoming and very friendly. This place is definitely a gem, I will for sure be going back!

This place is a hidden gem. The meat is cooked perfectly, not over cooked and dried. The carne asada burrito is delicious. Not a fan of the Cali Burrito because it has potatoes instead of fries but that's a personal preference and nothing to do with the restaurant itself. The menudo is delicious...doesn't have harmony but that's ok with me. The staff is super friendly too. Give this place a try...you won't regret it.

Came here on a Friday evening with my wife. We walked in and we're greeted by the cashier. There was only one customer in at the time eating which should of been a sign. We ordered a carnitas plate and carne asada fries to go. The carnitas plate was okay. The highlight was the rice. The beans weren't too bad and the carnitas were not memorable. Beans were bland and probably saved by the cheese. The carnitas were not that well seasoned and bland. My wife did not enjoy her carne asada fries at all. I went ahead and tried them myself. They tasted off putting and were some of the worse carne asada fries I've had in a while. Meat was bland, fries tasted sweet, and cheese had zero flavor. Overall just poor quality. I was bummed as I read some recent reviews and really wanted to try this place. Unfortunately, this place doesn't cut it.

After three years away from American and living in Japan for the last three years this was the first Mexican Restaurant I went to. I was satisfied with everything. Service - super friendly Facility - clean Menu - visited twice and it was constant and tasty Only complaint is that there chips cost $1.49 and where cold and stale.

Pollo Asado Burrito with Pico de Gallo and Guacamole. It was delicious!!!

Was going to Subways but because they want to put COVID as an excuse for not allowing customers to use the restroom, they sent me across the street to a pizza place to use the restroom. The place was closed and found this awesome Mexican restaurant. They allowed me to use their very clean restroom and I bought the best Pollo Asado Burrito in San Diego. It was full of flavor and just DELICIOUS! Highly recommend!

My favorite spot for mexican food! Reasons why: it's SUPER clean.. always They're very flexible with making little changes to your meal. The food is prepared with such good quality and freshness. It tastes delicious. Love it and I will continue to be a client for as long as possible.

It's a true family-style operation--one owner personally takes your order while the other is in the kitchen cooking everything fresh, and you can taste that attention to detail in every bite. The food is outstanding--full of flavor, generous portions, and very reasonably priced. It's the kind of place where you know you're getting authentic, homemade quality, not something rushed or generic. On top of that, the service is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself is clean and well-kept. It's rare to find a spot that checks all the boxes like this. If you're anywhere nearby and even thinking about Mexican food--do yourself a favor and come try Mi Asador. You'll be glad you did!

Since then we've been visiting other burrito places, but decided to give them another shot. We were pleasantly surprised to see things were "back to normal". Burritos were big again and the salsa bar was back. Chips were no longer free (I remember they used to be a long time ago), but no biggie. We were just picked up to-go. The burritos were good. Not great, necessarily, but good and the prices are some of the best around. They have a ton of options, and lots of drinks, including beer. We were just picking up, and it was a very hot day. The restaurant didn't have any air-conditioning so it was quite warm inside. Most people were eating outside. We'll be back again to try some other menu items given that their prices are generally pretty good.

Clean spot with indoor and outdoor seating - would definitely eat in but for this order, I took it to go A number of options to choose from - including/especially breakfast burritos available all day long...love this option! So, ordered a breakfast burritos available and made a couple of substitutions. Paid for the order and, because I paid in cash, was offered free chips with my order, which was a nice option. After I paid, the guy who took my order asked if I wanted salsa...replied yes, he asked how many, I said 4 or 5 ramekins? Gave em to me, no problem. Salsa bar was LIT - all fresh, good tasting stuff, clean and orderly. After getting my salsas, I sat and waited for a moment while they made my order - fresh, made on the spot...saw that was the case for a couple of other patrons who got there shortly after I did. Got my order and, HOT DAMN, my burrito was GINORMOUS. I ran through it as soon as I got home and it was delicious. So good that I would definitely want to go back and try some of their other offerings. Looked to me like they have a number of daily specials (e.g., 5 tacos for $12). This is by far one of my favorite places for Mexican food in SoCal. As a Cali Native now living in…read morethe great state of Texas, sometimes it's refreshing to step outside the land of Tex‑Mex and get the real deal again. Colima's hits that spot every single time. When you walk in, the person behind the counter greets you immediately -- and not the dry "hi, what can I get you?" type of greeting. You get a full "¡Buenos días, mija!" with that warm, almost‑grito energy that makes you feel like you just walked into your tío's spot instead of a restaurant. Super friendly, super natural, and very SoCal. I ordered the rolled tacos plate and wow... esa porción estaba gigante. I couldn't finish it. What I loved most was the meat; this is what meat is supposed to taste like. The beef was seasoned the way we grew up eating it: a little salty, a little savory, with that slow‑cooked tenderness that lets you know it didn't come from some pre‑bagged, mystery‑meat situation. You get hints of garlic, a little cumin, and that warm, almost toasty flavor that comes from meat that's actually been browned, not steamed. It tasted like someone's abuela was in the back saying, "No, no, déjalo dorar un poquito más. And the corn tortillas? Perfect. Thin enough to get that crisp roll, thick enough not to shatter. None of that flour‑tortilla‑trying‑to‑be‑crispy nonsense. These were crunchy, flavorful, and loaded. The toppings were just as good. The guacamole tasted fresh. You could taste the real avocado which was creamy, a little chunky, with lime that actually tasted like lime and not concentrate. The red salsa had a legit kick to it. It had hints of roasted chiles, was smoky and had a slightly bitter edge that tells you they actually roasted them instead of just tossing raw peppers into a blender. It wasn't tourist spicy; it was SoCal Mexican‑restaurant spicy, which is a whole different category. My partner ordered a breakfast burrito and honestly? That thing could've fed three people. It was massive, stuffed to the brim with cheese, egg, potatoes, and fresh bacon and exactly what a SoCal breakfast burrito should be: simple, hearty, and no shortcuts. Between the portions, the flavor, and the service that feels like home, this spot stays on my list every time I'm in Oceanside. If you're craving real Mexican food and not Tex‑Mex, pull up. You'll leave full and happy. #supportlocal
