    Loganisa rice bowl
    Elaine Y.

Tried Los Kuyas today and it was pretty average for mall food. I tried to order the tocino rice bowl first but they had sold out of tocino. The staff tried to steer me towards carnitas but I wanted to explore the Filipino side a bit more so I went with the loganisa. Overall the loganisa isn't quite the loganisa I was expecting but rather it's finely minced pork marinated like loganisa. You got a little of that tang and the sweetness associated with loganisa. It was pretty good. And the pico on top? I guess that's the Mexican fusion part but it was really fresh and provided a nice acidity. The egg was also on point still with an oozy center, yum! I do have to dock on the rice. I mean, just plain steamed rice? Really a missed opportunity to make garlic rice to really pack a punch! There is also just so much rice that if you were to mix up everything with it, the dish would probably be kind of bland. I ate about half the rice and I thought the mince and egg ratio to rice was perfect here. I don't think I'd be running back to Los Kuyas when at the mall, but it certainly is an option for consideration.

3 taco combo $or (Tocino, Longaniza and Sisig)
    Rosalee I.

A little disappointed that this place was a kiosk but none the less is an amazing idea to fuse between Mexican-Filipino food. I got the 3 taco combo. Longaniza, Tocino and sisig tacos. Personally, I think that they could have stepped up their game by making fresh tortillas, marinate the meats a head of time, and then fry em up with fresh cilantro and onions. take away the pinto beans make it with black beans and instead of the Spanish rice make Garlic fried rice with a fried egg on top. The loompya was amazing but tbh, a little pricey because they were cut in 1/2 of a regular size. So from a customer stand point. I paid for $2.33 for each loompya which. So I was a little peeved about that. Prices were amazing. I came on weekend and wish that they had Tuesday Taco prices. I wish they had weekend specials on meats they have excess of or happy hour tacos? To the owner (constructive criticism) , I love the idea...but step up your game, as as Filipina who is obsessed with Mexian food.. put your heart back into it the idea. Ps..sisig came out soggy not crispy xoxo

    Tocino Burrito

Closer to a 3.5 here, similar to senor sisig with Mexican/filipino fare, hit the spot for me one lunch time when I was in between work hours I ordered a tocino super burrito, from their variety of different meat options, I think I picked the best. When I unwrapped that bad boy and saw the slightest bit of egg drippin out I knew I was about to have a good time Tocino was well flavoured and egg in a burrito, what a great concept of the modern age. The burrito itself was about an iPhone 15 in length and an iPhone 15 in diameter, found out as I took the picture. The end result of this was being full but still needing 3 more bites. Packed it in and gave up honestly. Lady serving me made a mistake with my order but was sure to communicate and provide me with guac on the side. I'll be back again, not too often because those juices be loading up my arteries but it tastes damn worth it.

Everytime I'm at Stonestown, I've seen this spot and kept telling myself to come back during Taco Tuesday. The day finally came and my friend and I ordered a few tacos around 5:30 PM. There was only 1 person ahead of us but soon after there was a decent sized line forming behind. On Tuesdays, you can get $1 street tacos, though some protein options are actually $2. We ordered 1 lemon pepper chicken, 2 sisig, 1 carnitas and 1 longanisa. We also wanted a beef taco but unfortunately they sold out. Food was ready within 5 minutes of ordering -- very quick. Considering the tacos were only $1, I wasn't expecting anything too crazy, but I was actually a bit surprised at how small they were. Flavor wise, everything was fine. Favorites were definitely the longanisa and sisig. The tacos were extremely oily, like dripping a lot. I wouldn't pick this spot over the other food options available in Stonestown, but if I was ever feeling hungry and wanted a small snack, I would be down to order a taco or two. However, if the size of the taco is the same on all other days (not just for the tuesday deal), I would definitely not be ordering -- way too small to be worth $4.

Food court stall with $1 tacos on Taco Tuesday. Loved the flavors of the taco, and they were a great price. They're a bit small to be worth the regular price. Tables are in the food court nearby so it's pretty noisy, but good place to grab a quick bite.

The food at this taco truck is so amazing. I ordered the Los Kuyos. The three tacos I got are LONGANISA,Tocino, sisig. So yum! Its filling in every bite is a delight. The service is actually very kind and friendly for a food truck. Usually expect this kind of kindness at a five star restaurant. I appreciate them and their nourishment.

Longanisa El Kuya Tacos - yummy!

This place is QUICK! I ordered the Longanisa nachos since I saw it on their menu and it was out within 3 minutes. I took it home and it was still super yummy. It does have a sweetness to it that feels more like Tocino but it's good.

Interesting concepts and they give them points for creativity, but it almost felt like everything felt a little flat. The meat was a little dry, the tortillas a little stale and hard, the flavours just a little too far out of balance. A really good deal if you're able to catch them at the right time, but I wouldn't go for full price.

Generally speaking, I think it's a pretty reasonable assumption that an eatery would be able to put out better tasting food from a brick and mortar location than a food truck. Nothing against food trucks (I love them and they can be both a novelty and tasty), but I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that the limitations of a food truck just make it comparatively tougher. Yet, in the case of this Los Kuyas, I can't help but wonder if the set-up here actually just makes everything worse... Even though it's part of the Stonestown food court, Los Kuyas' outpost here is very different compared to its neighbors. Rather than having a normal space with a real kitchen, like Panda Express, this is more like a standalone coffee or smoothie stall you would see when you walk around. sure, they have refrigerated units and a prep area, but their cooking element looks more like a small griddle plate than an actual grill top. That being said, the menu here is still larger than what we saw from their food truck in Spark Social. In addition to offering "super" versions of their burritos, tacos, nachos, and quesadillas, they also have rice bowls, lumpia, and quesabirria to offer as well. -- SUPER QUESADILLA with choice of meat (Sisig) and a side of Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, and Guacamole...$13 This wasn't much to look at, but I was pleasantly surprised to find four sizable chunks of quesadilla piled up. However, despite my love of cheese, this had too much of it. Not only did it overwhelm the taste of the sisig, but the two made this super oily/greasy (there was a pool of it at the bottom of the box). -- TACO TRIO with Choice of Meats (can mix & match)...$9 ---- Sisig with Onion, Cilantro, Sour Cream, Cheese, and Pickled Jalapeno ---- Bistek with Onion, Cilantro, and Salsa ---- Lemon Pepper Chicken Adobo with Onion, Cilantro, and Salsa As good as this was from their food truck, this disappointed...a lot. While the tacos looked great, each one missed. The taste of the sisig was overwhelmed by the jalapeno and sour cream, the bistek was very chewy and lacked that signature acidity, and the chicken adobo was super dry. Given how much I thoroughly enjoyed the tacos and nachos I tried from their food truck at Spark Social, the disappointment I felt from what I've tried here just stings that much more. Yet, what bothered me the most was how the food didn't seem all that hot, especially the tacos. Granted, the toppings might have cooled them a bit, but the tortillas didn't feel like they had been heated and the meats were barely warm, so I can't help but wonder if their limited cooking abilities had something to do with it. Perhaps at some point I'll find my way back here, but I'd be more inclined to visit their truck again instead. For now, TWO AND A HALF STARS rounded down.

    Taco Tuesday

This place caught my attention when they had taco Tuesday specials. Each taco going for $1-2. For the food and the deal it's debatably worth it but I'm still probably never going back. The Tocino was by far the best meat they had. I tried the sisig, steak and chicken as well and each of them were at best okay. They also only single wrapped their tacos - I know people kinda make fun of the double wrapped taco but I think it's necessary to either not rip the tortilla or to use it to catch all the remainings so was a little disappointed it was single wrapped. Service was fine and food came out quick. There's a cash discount too. It's just inside of a food court mall so don't expect too much on ambience either. Can easily mistake it w one of those phone kiosks just bc of placement lol

The tack was nasty off other food truck. I asked for steak and instead of it being cubed it's shredded, dry, flavorless and sad

I'm always down for a good taco tuesday but the ones here leave a lot to be desired. They're only $1 so I really shouldn't complain too heavy. If you temper expectations, you really can't beat the dollar deal! FYI - only 3 tacos max per order!! I decided to give the sisig, bistek and chicken a try. All the meats are pre cooked in warmers, so they're really just slapping them onto a tortilla. The chicken and bistek had cilantro and onions and salsa on the tacos, while the sisig one had sour cream and cheese. I ate them within a minute of receiving them and they were already cold. The corn tortillas were not soft, like they didn't even warm them first. And the meat was room temp. The flavors on the meat were okay.. I like the citrus on the bistek more. I feel like if these were hot, they would have got 3 stars at least, maybe 4 if you're looking at the price. These are not $3 tacos though. They're 2 bite tacos, and small as the palm of your hand. Not sure what the regular price is, because I came for the deal only, and just needed a snack. I wouldn't come here just for this, but if I wandered in on a Tuesday, I'd be down to get another order of $1 tacos but make sure to bring them home to heat and eat.

    Update truck menu
    Jesse S.

Decent , clean, fast service. Was outside of work on El Camino during lunchtime and decided to give it a try. Ohh yeah I forgot my lunch at home so . There is a menu. I had the basic sisig bowl. Came with a fried egg rice and pork that tasted more of Maggie soy sauce. The rice was cooked right. Had garlic bits but lacked salt. The pork had one texture. The fried egg was good. Value for the buck not so much. Portions were small for the amount of money your spending. It's like you're paying for a sit down restaurant vs a truck where overhead should be less. And the savings passed on to the consumer. Well I can say that I tried it. Update, I had the tacos on Tuesday. Enjoyed the chicken and the sisig.

Conveniently located inside the Kimpton Alton Hotel near Fisherman's Wharf, ABACÁ takes familiar Filipino flavors and dishes and gets really creative with them. As a Filipino, I love seeing the food I grew up with presented in such a unique, gourmet way while still keeping the flavors that make Filipino food so damn good in the first place. When we last went, my absolute favorite was their housemade noodles with squid ink and adobo. SO GOOD. The noodles were rich, savory, packed with flavor, and had pieces of squid throughout. Easily the standout dish of the night for me, and I would come back for that alone! I'm not sure if it's still on the menu since their offerings change, but if you ever see it, GET IT. They also have some secret menu items, including BALUT! If you know, you know. Definitely only for the brave if you've never had it before! I thought it was such a fun touch, especially for anyone who wants to get a little more adventurous with Filipino food. Overall, ABACÁ is such a great representation of how diverse Filipino cuisine can be. It still feels familiar and authentic, but they aren't afraid to play around with the flavors and presentation. Whether you already love Filipino food or you're trying it for the first time, this is absolutely a spot worth checking out. Masarap!

I ordered the virgin Ube-Colada. It was a beautiful purple color, refreshing, and lighter on the coconut flavor than I expected. The Sisig Fried Rice definitely isn't Chinese-style fried rice, which was fine with me because I wanted to try something different. Unfortunately, I wasn't a big fan of the flavor or the crispy bits of pork. I guess I fail as an honorary Filipino. The pork lumpia spring roll, however, was very good. And then came the standout star of my meal: the Wagyu dumplings. The waiter used a mini blow torch to heat the Wagyu - that certainly got my attention. These were unlike any dumplings I had eaten before. Two large, very thin slices of Wagyu beef were served in a flavorful tomato-based broth with wonderfully soft, pillowy potato dumplings containing a rich, almost creamy center. I would order these again without hesitation. My waitress was very sweet and welcoming, which I especially appreciated since I was dining by myself. I had an early reservation when the restaurant was still fairly quiet, but the tables filled up after I arrived, so I recommend making a reservation. One useful tip for finding the restaurant: look for the entrance down the stairs marked Kimpton. Enter through that door, and the restaurant is on your right. Not everything I tried was for me, but that's part of the fun of trying a cuisine you're less familiar with. I came away with a new favorite--the Wagyu dumplings--and appreciated the warm hospitality.

There were plenty of menus posted throughout the restaurant, but I noticed that none of them listed prices. You order at the counter and wait for your receipt number to be called, then pick up your food on a tray and bring it to your table. Water is self-service. I ordered the Pork Adobosilog ($15.50) -- savory pork adobo served with garlic fried rice and a fried egg. The adobosilog was good, and the portion size was just right, although the price felt a little high for a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The garlic fried rice was disappointing because I couldn't really taste any garlic and it tasted more like plain fried rice. The pork adobo was tender and easy to eat. If I'm in the neighborhood and craving Filipino food, I may revisit the restaurant and try another silog from the menu.

I think I may have evaded it out of homage to my Mom's own cooking, but Kusina provides the perfect opportunity to satisfy a craving for comfort food away from home. It was definitely a pleasant surprise. This restaurant is no-frills; the stars of the show are the fresh and tasty entrees you can see and choose from at the counter. They allow you to choose combination plates or ala carte depending on what you're craving. I had the Dinuguan with garlic rice, while my friend had the Lumpia Shanghai and Palabok noodles. Nothing disappointed--every dish hit the spot. For a moment, I felt like I was at a Filipino party with a few tables for parties of 2 or 4. The staff members were friendly and pleasant while taking my order. Bravo to Tess! I'll definitely be back now that I know where this hidden Sampiguita of a restaurant is, right around the corner from my downtown apartment.

We got a table of eight one hour before closing time. Our server told us last order was at 6:45 since the cook had to leave early for another gig. They used to close later at night years ago. We had our usual chick-boy combo sisig, grilled liempo, tapa and garlic rice. Our friends embellished our spread with ginataang sitaw at calabasa (beans & squash in coconut milk), bam-i pancit, chicharon bulaklak (ruffle fat) and lechon kawali. Vinegar based sawsawan and Mang Tomas made this feast even better. We all had water because we were binge eating that weekend. Another large party satisfied at Chibogs. Can't wait for our next get-together here.

Phone orders are also welcomed too. The restaurant is always packed when I go in to get my food. The dining room is pretty small, but can probably fit 30 or so diners at a time. Our staples are the lumpia shanghai, pancit palabok and bbq chicken silog. Over the years, the prices have really increased but it is a sign of the times wherever you dine these days.

It comes with 2 large pieces of pork chop, garlic fried rice topped with crispy garlic, one egg (cooked to your preference) and either diced tomatoes or pineapples. I am always left super full from this meal and sometimes I can even split it into 2! It also stays crispy and reheats well in the airfryer. They serve other Filipino foods as well such as tocino, longanisa, baby bangus, etc. Each plate comes with the garlic fried rice, egg and either tomatoes or pineapples. What I absolutely love about this place is the quick service and cheap eats. Their plates used to be cheaper but of course due to inflation, the price is still unmatched in the city. This place is cash only and does not have indoor seating. There is also a similar restaurant located in Daly City by top of the hill called Gateway Kitchen that has almost the same exact menu + prices for their plates. Parking can be difficult in this area but the service is so quick that you can just double park in front. I will continue to visit this place over and over again. I absolutely love coming here :')

After a long day, my partner and I finally decided to stop by for dinner. The prices are incredibly affordable, but keep in mind that it's cash only. We ordered the Hong Kong-style pork chop over garlic fried rice, which came with tomatoes and eggs, and shared it between the two of us. When our food arrived, we were genuinely surprised by the portion size--there were two huge, crispy pork chops, especially impressive considering the meal was only around $8. My partner absolutely loved it and thought it was an amazing value. If you're a fan of crispy, fried comfort food, this is definitely a satisfying meal. For me, though, it was a bit too greasy, and the seasoning tasted heavier than I personally prefer. While the pork chop was flavorful and crispy, the richness started to feel overwhelming after a few bites. Finishing the entire container would definitely put me into a serious food coma. Overall, if you're looking for a filling meal at an unbeatable price, Superstar is hard to beat. Although it wasn't quite my personal favorite because of how rich it was, I can absolutely see why it's a popular spot for cheap, satisfying eats.

I happened to be in Daly City recently and made a stop here to pick up some skewers. Found street parking around the corner. Fil-Am is a take-away restaurant with a menu consisting of BBQ chicken and BBQ pork skewers, panic, shanghai lumpias and turons. I wanted to get BBQ pork skewers and got to the last three that were in the tray. They were also out of the chicken skewers. But the chef was busy cooking as the grill was loaded with pork and chicken skewers. Not wanting to wait, I was happy that I got the three skewers. Many good-sized pieces of juicy pork make up each skewer. Generous portions. I enjoy the Filipino BBQ pork flavor as the sauce on it has a sweet taste to it. At $4.25 a skewer, it is reasonably priced. Will stop by again for these delicious pork skewers again when I'm in the area.

Once we got a spot, while walking up to the restaurant you can smell the BBQ aromas from around the corner so we were getting excited just walking to the restaurant! They also have a ton of other Filipino specialties on the menu but looks like they are for larger party tray orders. Lumpia, Menudo, Adobo, Kare Kare etc. There's also a couple dessert items Turon, Bibingka, Biko, ube, maja blanca and Cassava to name a few. Took dinner home and chowed down. The BBQ pork was fantastic, tender with great BBQ flavor. The chicken was a bit charred and dry (took off one star) but was tasty. BBQ sauce was sweet and savory. The pancit was delish! overall a great cost effective meal and worth trying
