If I get a chance, its fun to go try some of the older variants and vintages of Darkness to see how they old up. It helps as well that Short or Tall does flights! I enjoyed five different pours of Darkness: Gimme S'More Darkness (2021): An Imperial Stout, Darkness, aged on Vanilla and Cinnamon aged in Bourbon Barrels reminiscent of a liquid s'more. Darkness (2016): An Imperial Stout aged for nearly ten years. A little thin bodied, which occurs over time, and a ton of sherry notes. Darkness (2025) Barrel-Aged: An Imperial Stout aged in Elijah Craig Bourbon Barrels and Creative Oak French Oak. The OG version of this year's BA Darkness. Chocolate Limoncello Darkness (2024): An Imperial Stout with Cacao and Lemon Puree hitting French Oak for a while as well. This is a weird one for sure. Vietnamese Coffee Darkness (2020): An Imperial Stout, Darkness, infused with Organic Robusta and Arabica Coffees from UP Coffee Roasters (local to MN), Vanilla Beans, and Coconut. It was aged in Rum Barrels. This one is an absolute delight and my first time trying it! My favorite of the flight. _____
