a three tiered cake and cupcakes

First and foremost we found this place on a whim . We hit a jackpot with it. They owner was kind and helpful with choosing our cake . Price is extremely reasonable . the ambiance of this place was like a mom and pop shop, which I love . we picked tres leches, 2 tiers cake which tasted out of this world amazing. Overall I highly recommend. One thing though , if you're picking tres leches cake be mindful that the cake is super moist so it won't stay in shape long .

If you grew up drinking coffee and dunking sweet bread and pastries in said coffee, this place is for you. I finally tried this place and it reminded me a lot of the panaderías (bakeries) you find in Latino neighborhoods in California. This is definitely a smaller operation but it had some essentials: conchas, pineapple filled pastries, apple filled pastries, etc. The bakery also sells atol de elote (a warm corn drink); it was okay, as it was too runny for my taste. Friday - Sunday they sell different types of tamales until they run out. Los Martínez Bakery is owned and run by a wife-husband team. She's from Nicaragua and he's from El Salvador. Nice people running the operation. Support this local business!

Really good assortment of pastries and cookies, but the bread -- only one type -- is uninspiring.

We had the…read moredeliciously over stuffed George's mess burrito, and the bacon and cheddar and potato soufflé, and or obsessing over both. The coffee was tasty nothing out of the ordinary we just had plain black coffee, but those dishes were spectacular. Add on the fact of all of the people who were behind the counter were so lovely and friendly, and the patio is in a shaded pretty garden on the main street, and you just can't lose. Highly recommend!

Chose this spot for a cowork meeting because of the ample space and variety of food options…read more They do have a lot of seating, which is really nice if you plan on staying for a while. Today, they didn't really have that many food options. They mentioned that they were doing this because of the weather. However, the patrons that flooded into the place would potentially advertise that they were actually quite busy. I was not super impressed with the options ,as a vegetarian, I was hoping that there would be at least one quiche or breakfast option that didn't have meat out of the 3 options. I was also quite disappointed that they didn't have any of their breakfast wraps, which seemed to take over their food feed on yelp. I opted for the egg salad sandwich as it was the only food item I could eat. My biggest complaint was definitely the service. I ordered a food option and a coffee drink, and the barista made everyone else's food in line behind me before even making my coffee. It was obvious that she kept running around to grab additional items that should have been stocked before the store was open. If you are in a rush, this is definitely not a spot to grab something. Above and beyond this, there is a sign at the front that says they can't print out receipts, which is something that in my mind is not OK. Overall, the food that we had was really good. I was 0% impressed with the coffee. I always find it very strange when an iced drink comes in a paper cup without a straw. We were not given utensils for both of our food items, just one, and there were so many customers that I just decided to use a knife to eat what fell out of my sandwich.

We went to cool cats for my niece and her cupcakes who had an egg allergy, and they were amazing!!!…read moreA week later I decided to visit kickshaws to pick up a few items for my boyfriend's birthday. He is an avid health nut and doesn't like to consume gluten. I only saw basic chocolate or vanilla gluten free cups cakes and noticed many patrons visiting the refrigerator for pre made treats. They had many more options in there vs what was on display. I was in a rush so from what I was able to view they had mint chocolate, key lime, and chocolate banana cream cupcakes. I decided on the chocolate banana cream. I want to first point out that my boyfriend LOVED the pack of 3 I purchased him. He thought they were delicious. However I'm a little dissatisfied that they were labeled as chocolate banana cream... when the only banana element was the one piece of banana they placed on top for decoration. There wasn't any other element of banana in the cupcake nor any element of a cream. I may be back because even though the banana was completely missing, he enjoyed the rich dark chocolate flavor of the entire cupcake.
