This is quite the surprise - very good Mexican food in a Pittsburgh suburb. They made excellent enchiladas - cotilla cheese, good tortillas, great green salsa. I am sorry to leave a negative review but people need to know that this food is not good. I drove 30 minutes based on yelps reviews thinking maybe I'd finally find good Mexican food in the area. Nope. The carnitas is very dry, not flavorful at all. We ordered it all: enchiladas, tacos, plates. All very salty and bland. Sadly that's the theme for all Mexican establishments around this town. Went there for dinner tonight. Menu states Guacamole is homemade-It was clearly not. We let it go. Then the main course came out. The refried beans were burnt. The chili relleno tasted like it was old and freezer burnt, i had to spit it out. Completely inedible. When the manager came out she said the guacamole was homemade-the waitress let us know that it was premade and packaged but they add some tomatoes to it. Manager then told us that she could get me a new chili relleno. I asked if it was going to be the same old ones and she said they probably are because the fresh ones weren't ready. So basically she was going to give me another old nasty one. Then when we were leaving she said the beans were probably burnt because they were too busy preparing to go orders. So... 1. Guac not homemade 2. Chili relleno old and inedible 3. Beans burnt 4. manager who knows the food is crap-serves it anyway 5. Very nice server who clearly knows food is crap 6. Do not eat here. I have been here three times since they have been opened and was satisfied on every occasion. The place is fairly small but is clean and decorated nicely. The staff and owner are always super friendly and helpful. We went this past Saturday in the evening and they had a one man band playing traditional Mexican music on his guitar which my grandson loved! Before you place your order they bring out free chips and salsa for you to enjoy on while you decide. Every time our bowl was empty we were offered more which is always nice. The food is your typical Mexican food that has been somewhat Americanized by taking out a good amount of the spice which makes me very sad. Solid Mexican food, fantastic value for the price. Their menu is extensive, easy to over order. We stopped by for takeout during lunch. There's a nice outdoor dining area with umbrellas. Ordered a shredded beef quesadilla, 4 carnitas tacos, shredded chicken burrito and side of rice and pinto beans. All the sides were good, including the chips, salsa, guacamole, grilled onions. I appreciate that it was more Mexican than Tex-Mex. I would like to be able to order mix-n-match tacos to taste more variety, that's my only feedback. read more

Totally unassuming in a strip plaza, but this food is LEGIT!!! Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I miss having good Mexican around and this please hit the spot! Great meal here-chimichanga. The rice was done perfectly and the American cheese on the burrito melted in your mouth. The onions had the perfect crunch and typical refried beans. I keep trying to give them a chance because they are local but this will be the last time I order from them. Very good mexican food. I'm pretty fussy and this place is not your typical gringo mexican place. The mole enchiladas were so good and if you go here, you MUST try the chile rellenos. Loved this place. My wife and I dined there last night. We ate on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. The salsa was fresh tasting and the chips were good. On my request they brought out 3 types of El Yucateco Habenaro sauce, because I like to heat it up a bit. The food was excellent, and there were many vegetarian options on the menu. It appeared that they may have a vegetarian version of all the major dishes. The prices were reasonable. And our server was really amazing. She was attentive and anticipated our needs at every turn. We NEVER had to flag her down or wait at all for anything. She could not have done better and that is especially remarkable since we were the only two diners out on the patio during that period. Placed an order for delivery through Door Dash at 5pm. Contacted the store at 6:30pm and was told order was on its way. Contacted the restaurant again at 7:15pm and was told again the order was on its way. At 8:15pm still no delivery so we call yet again. Spoke with the manager. He couldn't find the order. Stated he couldn't cancel the order or credit our charge card. Had to go through Door Dash to get a refund. When we contacted Door Dash their system showed the order was completed and delivered. They did credit our account. The restaurant was not honest with on multiple occasions regarding the status of our order. This is the second time we have had issues with delivery orders from this restaurant. There will not be a third. read more

We have really enjoyed Los Mayas since their opening in Harmony/Zelienople. Due to COVID , all meals have been take-out for us, but we look forward to visiting in person on a regular basis in the future. The menu selection and quality is consistently good. The house special Maya burrito is a favorite of mine. The dinner enchiladas and fajitas are also very good and my family's go-to choices. The house Salsa is great, which is key for any Mexican eatery. The staff have all been very pleasant and helpful in each of our visits. This place is the real deal! A real gem! Great service and great food! wife and imtried it for the first time. Nice crowd for a Sunday small restaurant and all the tables were taken so we waited for 15 minutes. Staff very nice, we were offered soft drinks while we waited. Once seated the great service continued. I had the enchiladas with mole. Excellent authentic mole very tasty. Food arrived nice and hot. Great complimentary salsa and chips. wife also had Enchiladas but without mole. Hers was excellent as well. Had a side of refried beans. Very light and tasty. The portions are huge and all high quality. It is so nice to see a family business doing well. The service again was outstanding.
