We hadn't been to Juniper Grill for several years. So glad that we came back and tried it again. The service is really good and it's a really nice place. We started off with the cornbread. If my husband sees it on the menu, he must have it. It was good especially the top part was very sweet, which I loved. I didn't think the rest was as flavorful as I would have liked. Y husband loved it. I had the two Honey Chipotle Shrimp Tacos and they were absolutely amazing. I loved them so much. I also liked the Mexican street corn side too. My husband thought the ribs and mashed potatoes were amazing. When my mom and I see brisket on the menu, we typically have to have it. She did along with her other favorite mashed potatoes and loved both. I don't think you can have a bad meal there. Anxious to go back and try other things. read more

What a horrible dining experience! Horrible food, horrible waitstaff. Here's our experience....My husband and I stopped in Cranberry on our way home to a different state, after a lovely week of wonderful food at various restaurants in various states. We arrived at Juniper Grill around 3:30. Ordered a glass of wine each. Perused the "Gourmet" menu with an intent upon purchasing food to take back to our hotel room. There was a waitstaff change. Our bartender left and proceeded to sit down adjacent to us at the bar and ordered some type of martinis for herself. New bartender arrives. Apparently, locals rule over any other people at the bar. New bartender leaned over the bar and had a 30 minute conversation with a regular over her reptiles. I was able to flag down the previous bartender (now sitting at the bar) to put our to-go order in. We waited over 45 minutes to get our to-go order (a salad and and the Santa Fe Bowl). Then my husband walked over to the kitchen only to find our bag of food just sitting there, getting cold, for god knows how long. Taking it to our hotel, the entrees were far less then what the menu promised. Don't go to Juniper Grill! This whole adventure cost us over $100!!! read more

We walked in and didn't have a reservation, but stood at door and made a reservation online at OpenTable for 5 mins later. Sat at that point. The service was fast, food was amazing. The cornbread could have been dessert but no complaints!! We ordered a bottle of wine but the vintage was 4 years off and the couldn't comp us, but it was still good. Juniper Grill is always a safe choice when trying to pick where to eat for lunch or dinner. The restaurant itself is cozy, yet modern and the staff are always professional and kind. Reservations are able to be made on their website for up to 20 people and parking never seems to be an issue. For drinks, we ordered the Espresso Martini and Prickly Pear Margarita. They were both absolutely perfect in their own ways. As for food, we ordered the Ahi Tuna Wonton, Grilled Fish Tacos, and a side of hand cut fries. The ahi tuna was very fresh and the fish tacos had a lot of flavor. The fries were cooked just right and had a perfect amount of salt added on top. Juniper Grill never seems to disappoint, so we will be back soon! read more

Brisket was like chewing on a tire. Had huge chunks of un rendered fat and wasn't even cut properly against the grain. Just trying to slice it into manageable pieces with a knife was a struggle with how tough it was. We came here for restaurant week & all in all, the place was very mid. Blind-fold me, and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between here and Applebee's. It wasn't bad, but nothing to brag about. Overpriced American fare that didn't need to be overcomplicated. The Brisket Quesadilla was good, but stingy on the meat. The smoked meat was overcooked and dry. They were out of the Sea Bass, one of the items for the Restaurant Week, so that was a Bit disappointing. The Filet was meh, the veggies were overcooked and flavorless. I thought that the creme brulee was good, but hubs didn't. The service was fine, nothing to brag or accompanied about. Being honest, I probably wouldn't come back on my own merit, unless invited in a social setting. For restaurant week, you gotta blow it out of the park. read more

Had a lovely meal here in July with friends from Pittsburgh. The service from our waitress was great - professional, yet personable. I enjoyed the Cajun Mahi Sandwich, and my wife enjoyed her chicken tacos. We had some chips and guac/salsa as an appetizer - kudos on the guac, it was great. My husband and I decided to dine here for restaurant week last night and as a first timer, it was delicious. I ordered off the restaurant menu though my husband did not. We were seated immediately upon entry with our reservation. Our waitress greeted us rather quickly as well. They were busy but the vibe was friendly and our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the triple dipper, the sea bass and the crème brûlée. The sea bass stole the show and was delicious though the asparagus served alongside it was a bit overcooked. We were visiting Cranberry for the first time, and Juniper was recommended by a close friend. Friendly staff. Standard decor of similar restaurants...since it was Mother's Day weekend, this place was bustling the whole time we were there. Fortunately there were seats in the indoor balcony area. LOVE this place! It's my neighborhood go-to. whenever friends or family come into town we go here. The food is terrific, the service is always friendly (and efficient) and the dining room has a nice ambiance. My favorite dishes are the fish tacos and the short ribs. (The cornbread's amazing, too.) The cocktails are great - especially the margaritas - and there's a surprising nice, varied selection of wines by the glass and bottle. I've always had a great experience here. read more

I ordered the California burger and while it wasn't bad, it also wasn't anything life changing. My husband ordered the Southwestern bowl with the grilled chicken and we both found it to be a bit disappointing in terms of flavor and the general freshness of the dish. The price to flavor/freshness ratio seemed a little off to us. Our server was very friendly and helpful with suggestions the menu and it was evident that she was very busy with lots of tables the night we were there. The restaurant itself feels relatively "high-end" when you walk in, but to be honest it felt like a weird combination of high-end/sports bar. Juniper Grill is a small restaurant chain that currently has three locations in the Pittsburgh area and one location in North Carolina. My husband and I ate an early lunch here on a Saturday. When we entered the restaurant, the seating hostess stared at us, and we had to speak to her first. She found our reservation in her computer, and then she walked us back to a booth. Our waitress had a warmer personality. The waitress accurately took our order, promptly brought out our foods, and automatically gave a drink refill to my husband. At the end of the meal, she did not make us wait for the bill. The menu listed starters (e.g., chicken street tacos and ahi tuna wonton), one soup, several salads (e.g., house salad and rotisserie chicken and avocado salad), handhelds (e.g., cheddar burger and grilled mahi sandwich), entrees (e.g., chicken enchiladas, baby-back ribs, salmon, and filet mignon), and accompaniments (e.g., mashed potatoes, street corn, and coleslaw). Most entrees cost twenty-something dollars. A bar with alcoholic beverages was also available. My husband and I ate the following foods: Guacamole and chips - 3 stars - The guacamole could have used a bit more flavor. The chips tasted very good. The accompanying salsa tasted just OK. Shrimp and crab enchilada - 3 stars - Two enchiladas had a very cheesy flavor. For a side, my husband chose black beans and brown rice, of which he took only a couple of bites. We had a great dinner and really great service from our waiter, Bam. I've been to Juniper before but the other 2 people with me had not been and they were both really pleased. Our waiter was really a perfect waiter. The perfect mix of professionalism and being personable. Yum! Several friends have recommended Juniper Grill, and we found out for good reasons why and wish we had listened sooner. We kept hearing about the cornbread dessert, but that was just part of an overall excellent dinner. My husband loves a good burger, and he was not disappointed. My go-to order is usually fish tacos. Again, a winner! I would also recommend ordering a prickly pear margarita (very yummy), and my husband was very happy with the beer selection. We decided to have our monthly date night at Juniper after reading great reviews. The restaurant felt a bit crowded. Not sure if it's because they sat us in the booths next to the bar. I didn't love the food. We ordered the Ahi tuna wontons as an appetizer. They were pieces of tuna over a tortilla chips covered in shredded lettuce and very little cream sauce. I'm not sure how these were considered a wonton. The fish tacos, although covered in mango salsa, actually tasted bland. They had very little flavor to them. Adding salt helped a bit, but I feel like it needed some sort of citrus dressing to liven it up. We ordered the shrimp and lobster enchiladas, I thought they were very fishy but my husband loved them. We also ordered the meat platter with the brisket, sausage, and fries. This was our favorite part. The brisket, sausage, and french fries were all great! read more

I had the Prickly Pear margarita & my husband had the Seranno Paloma. Fresh & so tasty. We paired this with the double dip & and chips - tasty house made queso & fire roasted tomato salsa (this has an amazing depth of flavors) We decided on our dinners. The all natural Spit Fired Amish Chicken & the Smokehouse Platter. Both dinners were large portions. I had almost half my chicken to take home. We had no room for dessert. The food was not impressive Street taco is what I had The reason for the one star is for the Manager Garret. As we walked into the restaurant with my service dog, the manager came over to the table demanding it is the law to show our paperwork for the service animal. I tried to plea the case that service animals have no papers and asked him to recite what law he is referring to. We were Forced to eat outside with our service animal. The server was very polite and apologetic for the managers' handling of us being shamed in the restaurant by him. Made a reservation through OpenTable earlier this week for Friday night for two people. Table was ready at the appointed time and I liked that I got a text message even a few minutes in advance telling me that the table was ready! Our waitress was friendly and helpful in providing recommendations as we were torn between a couple different options. She also came around frequently to check that our meals were to our liking and drinks were filled which we appreciated. The dimly lit restaurant sets a bit of a high-end mood, but I found it to be really loud and out of sync with the large bar area and people talking over each other. It unfortunately made it hard to talk to my dinner companion. I ordered the southwestern bowl with grilled chicken which I was pretty excited for but let down once received. Some portions of the avocado were browning and appeared to have been sitting out for a while, the chicken was tough, and the dish while colorful and bright didn't have a lot of flavor outside of the pico de gallo. Not sure our meal is indicative of what it's always like, but my wife found her burger to be a little on the plain side too. We ordered carry out and I ordered the Rare Seared Tuna Salad. It was a bowl mostly of lettuce that looked like it was out of a bag which was topped with one whole and one quarter of of a grape tomato, 3 half inch asparagus stems, no avacado, no fried wontons, and about a tablespoon of finely minced mango. The seared tuna had a good taste, but was a small portion. Very disappointing. We live close by, but won't be back. read more
