I tried twice. First enchiladas, the next time quesadilla, both very bland. Each time, the food was swimming in oil. It seemed like they cooked it in way too much oil, then dipped it in oil again just before putting it on the plate. Maybe it's just me. The salsa was way too mild even after dumping in the small bowl of somewhat spicier salsa to compensate. I understand trying to appeal to the masses, but to call it mild is an insult to mild salsa. With the amount of cars there, we felt it must be wonderful. We had a very nice server. Good chips and salsa, but this is what was bad: Enchiladas, very bland. Rice also bland. Tortilla soup, bland Flan? I nearly spewed it out of my mouth. Offered another dessert, fried cheesecake, with a dip of ice-cream, the ice-cream was really good, fried cheesecake? Bad. I've been here 3 times. All 3 times has been horrible service. Yesterday, our server did not come Check on us as often as they should. We needed refills. I ask for some limes and did not receive them after 30 minutes. My food eventually got cold for waiting for limes. I told the server it was my mom's birthday and they took so long to come sing happy birthday, my mom had to leave to another appointment. The food is not that good. Very disappointing. read more

Always have a great experience here! We always sit in the bar and are greeted almost immediately which is awesome. The blueberry margarita is delicious (I get it on the rocks, it has FRESH blue blackberries and blueberries in it I believe. Not the artificial blue colored blueberry margaritas, but a true dark blue-purple naturally flavored marg. Four of us decided to try this new restaurant ( opened about 1 month ago) which is near to our home. We all love Mexican food (including 3 native West Texans who grew up with great Mexican food). Due to travel, we planned to arrive at 530, earlier than our normal weekday dinner hour. There were only 4 or 5 tables with patrons at this converted Johnny Carino's restaurant. We were greeted and quickly seated by the friendly hostess. Our waitress Brandy answered a few menu questions and quickly brought our happy hour margaritas, on the rocks. We were told that they were 'happy hour' priced at $5.95. They were acceptable but too expensive for a "happy hour" "house" margarita. The chips and salsa were complimentary: chips were thin, warm and tasty. The salsa was heavy tomato sauce flavored with big chunks of onion but too little jalapeño. None of us were fans of the salsa. My general initial impression of the menu, having never dined here, was that the prices were high. Regardless, I ordered the beef fajita taco salad $11.75 with avocado ranch dressing on the side. The salad was HUGE. The fajita meat was generously portioned, very tender and delicious. The guacamole scoop was disappointing, tho, tasting store-bought. The salad itself, made with iceberg lettuce and too much cheese, was, for me, a fail. I would definitely return and try a different entree with the beef fajita meat. My wife ordered the tampiquena $12.95: 2 cheese enchiladas plus beef fajita taco. Again, the portion was HUGE. She enjoyed all (incl beans n rice) but was able to only eat 1/2 of the serving. My motherinlaw ordered the quesadilla appetizer $9 as her entree. She enjoyed it: crisp, flavorful but felt it was too pricey for the appetizer portion. (See picture.) My fatherinlaw ordered the steak ranchero $14. Again, the portion was HUGE! Meat was flavorful with a delicious sauce! High praise from a first generation Mexican American. So, overall the portions generally made up for the higher prices. Service was good ( it was early on a Tuesday dining night). They will need to step up or they will not compete well with other local Mansfield and South Arlington Mex options. read more

We had a pleasant 1st trip here. My wife had the Monterrey chicken and I had the sour cream chicken enchiladas. The Monterrey chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly. The sour cream enchiladas were some of the best I have had. It has earned another trip back. Advice - they have a little cup of salsa you can add to your large bowl of salsa. Even when the group of fricking 22 came in right after we got our drinks, our server didn't lose track of us. Price is moderate and expected for this place. Because of the groups of 22 that surrounded our table, we didn't stay for dessert. So why 4 out of 5? The men's restroom was in rough shape. Trash was everywhere and the urine smell was overwhelming. Came here late at night after attending a graduation to celebrate. The food was good... when it finally got to the table. This is about the only positive thing I have to say about my experience at this location. Unfortunately, no one at the table got to enjoy much of the food because of the slow service. By time it got to our table, everyone was filled up on chips and salsa. It took over hour for the meals to come out. It takes took about 20 mins of that hour for them to get one margarita to the table. In addition to this slow service, the bus service at the table was in such a hurry with no consideration that butter ended up being slung all over our party - the same butter did not get cleaned up from the floor for the remaining of our dining experience. Frankly, the lack of quality in service was astonishing to say the least. read more

I give this place 4 stars based on 2 key factors.. 1st, the chips are for the most part crumbs making them unusable for using in the salsa or queso, both of them are wonderful by the way.. The 2nd (at least for me) is the super burrito with chicken fajita meat... It's 90% beans and only 10% meat.. The chicken was EXTRA tender and tasted great, I just wished there was more of it in the burrito.. My fiancée got the cheese enchallitas and a beef fajita taco, which both were loaded well with meat or cheese Respectfully. You get more sturdy chips and more meat in the burrito and you have a 5 star place. But otherwise it's not a bad place and the prices aren't too bad either. read more

This was our 1st time here , they brought out chips and hot sauce mild & hot it was very good , we ordered 2 1/2 apps guacamole & queso they were very good and a good size for a 1/2 order , I ordered cheese enchiladas with queso added a side of mushrooms and onions grilled a little on the well done side and double charro bean (OMG the beans were the best thing I ate and it was all tasty and good , it shocked me when I put them in my mouth I just savered the flavors for a few secoundsi could not eat the whole plate 3 enchiladas and 2 bowls of beans plus all those chips and hot sauce I was so full I could not breathe I wanted desert so bad but I'll order it next time fore sure Now for the service part : I understand they have not been open to long , I ask the nice lady to seat us at a table not a booth she walks straight to the booth nope that's not going to work we need a table please she found one we where checking out the menu the menu is a nice size My husband orders beef enchiladas 2 taco rice & beans he really liked his meal the only complaint is the cooks got my order wrong they gave me 3 enchiladas with queso on top-no rice bobble beans with grilled onions and mushrooms my husband plate cam back perfect by mine did not so I had to wait for them to remake my food . We had a horrible night here. There were 4 of us 2 adults and 2 kids older than 10 and they sat us at the tinniest table ever. The lady putting the hot sauce on the table just knocked my husbands menu out of his hands to place the chips. We ordered our food and it was cold my sons food was the only one hot as he got the fajitas. Our waitress never smiled and was brief with us the whole time. Great place! Party of 22- we were seated promptly and drinks and appetizers came out instantly. Food was delicious and we waited less than 20 minutes for the food. Amazing food ! Wonderful service Aurora was our waitress, she was just as welcoming as the ambiance in the restaurant. She recommended to us the pollo poblano dish, and the sour cream enchiladas. I don't think anything but "yumm" and "oh my gosh" we're said the whole meal. love everything about this from the service to the chips and salsa, down to the sangria margarita ! First time coming to eat here during lunch time. I was not fond of the salsa that came with the chips. It was basically tomato sauce. For my entree I ordered the chicken taco salad. Was not bad but the chicken was a little dry with no flavor. Also my friend had a lipstick stain in her glass water. So that just made a bad impression for our first time. We love Los Molcajetes. Our family eats there at least once a week. It's locally owned and always has consistently good food. We love the hot sauces... ask for the spicy green sauce. We went last night and took the entire family for Valentine's dinner. They were extremely busy, but very professional, very polite, and our food came out just as yummy as always and without an extended delay. We sat on the patio as the inside was packed, and they even turned on multiple heaters for us. A+ read more
