The tacos are great here and consistent. I've only dined-in so I can only speak to that but the employees are considerate and friendly.

I haven't tried anything here that's been bad! The service is always nice, and it feels good supporting a local restaurant. Their tacos are sooo good, especially with the light green salsa they serve it with! My favorite is the veggie taco, which has a surprisingly amount of flavor. Try the churro bites! It's a good size for sharing! Comes with chocolate and caramel drizzled on, and whipped cream that tastes fresh. For drinks, if you're looking for a margarita, I'd recommend the blood orange one! It's not too sweet, and it's a large size. TIP: the tacos are like $1 or $2 on Tuesdays!

I've enjoyed food at this Los Ocampos since the day they opened their doors. I often would come in and sit at the bar and watch the games. The staff is friendly. Nothing over the top, but definitely appropriate. I love the food here. The rice and beans are delicious, and they have the best cranberry juice I've ever tasted in my life! I would recommend this location.

Staff are nice and friendly. Service is a tab slow. Space is clean. This location is a lot smaller than the East Side Saint Paul location but food is just as good. There's plenty of parking in the back.

Food was good till I found this in my sausage taco Now on do I have to double check to see if I'll ever find this in my taco? ‍‍

Finally! Another Mexican restaurant on University. The closest one to us was on Suburban Ave and that was a bit of a hike. So glad to see these guys move in. A nice and refreshing alternative to La Cucaracha. Great customer service. They get you in, out and get you what you want. Great green salsa. Nice view of University Avenue. Los Ocampo chicken pollo burrito tastes great.

If you're use to going to the one on Arcade this one might be a whole new experience for you. It is more of a full service restaurant. You actually get seated, get a menu, and have a waiter/waitress. I liked that they offered lunch specials here but service was a bit on the slow side. Also I usually love getting the roasted jalapeño peppers but at this location they weren't the best.

It's a really cozy moody interior, with *no big lights* aka great low lighting and comfy seating options. When we went, there were just a few other parties there so pretty quiet. I liked that we had a whole corner to ourselves with a sectional couch of sorts and some chairs. They close at 10pm on a Friday night, which felt absurdly early for a cocktail bar. But, we were able to order and drink one drink during the ~45 minutes we had. They closed up shop promptly at 10pm. They had a classics and a "rumors" section of the menu. I didn't think the signature drinks were overly unique, with classics like Paper Plane making that menu side. I had a pomegranate mojito which was good! Consensus was that the cocktails were good not exceptional, especially for the $16-17 price point. We ordered churros for the table which were a table favorite! I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but we enjoyed our time and could see this being a good option if you lived in the neighborhood and don't mind the early close hours.

Our server, Rosie, provided excellent recommendations, and we genuinely loved everything we ordered. They also offer a great happy hour until 6 PM, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I highly recommend giving it a try. One small note: We didn't realize a 20% gratuity had already been added to our bill. That's partially on us for not catching it on the credit card slip, (we tipped in cash) but I do think it would be helpful if servers mentioned it when presenting the check. I typically prefer to tip in cash, so on our $62 tab, we ended up leaving a $34 tip. Even with that little surprise, we'll absolutely be back. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all worth another visit!

The people were a huge part of what made Emmett's feel welcoming, creative, and special, especially with the innovative cocktails. It's also disappointing to see what feels like a lack of appreciation for the staff and the longtime, dedicated customers who helped build this establishment into what it was. Unfortunately, the new direction feels much more canned and unoriginal--more like a Irish version of Applebee's or Outback Steakhouse than the unique place it used to be. There are simply too many great places to choose from to settle for something mundane and uninspired. The new GM has also made longtime customers feel unwelcome, with no acknowledgment or warmth when walking through the space. The atmosphere just isn't the warm, inviting place I once enjoyed. Sadly, I guess it's time to find a new favorite.

So, if you are from out of town, I'd find a local spot to hang out instead because I have made that mistake before when I go to a new spot, and usually when I travel I'd like to find something local instead of a bar in the WF! However, if you are local, and need a chill neighborhood place to hang out, I think you'd be surprised how lovely the Selby bar is. Also, it's just nice to hang out somewhere that is not too dark like a usual bar might be. First, the specials! They are amazing. They always have really, ridiculously good beer and/or wine specials. See pic. Then, in addition, there are happy hour specials 4-6 pm that offer additional deals. But the daily specials are really good so even if you are getting there before or after HH don't feel like you will miss out! They have a great selection of MN beers - usually a few surly selections, lift bridge, and others. They usually have a good variety of beer styles and sometimes a cider on draft. Then, the food: they have a menu that has burgers, including the Beyond Vegan burger, for $10 with fries. They also have some apps and different veggie bowls you can add protein to. If you were already thinking of eating at Whole Foods then you probably won't spend much more eating here but that all depends on what you like and what deals are around. I have often gotten the vegan burger and I always love it. You can also bring in some food from the Whole Foods deli but be courteous and clean up if you leave a big mess of food they didn't serve you! Finally, the staff. The bartenders are really chill. Be nice to them and tip as you would at a bar! The bar takes credit cards or cash but no Whole Foods gift cards. Be nice to the Whole Foods employees in general! Also - this WF doesn't sell beer or wine to go because of MN liquor laws, so if you want beer or wine you need to have it here!

We walked in for a pretty late dinner, slightly past 8PM and this place was still crowded. Ten minute wait for a table, the concierge said, but there were free seats at the bar either downstairs or up. We decided to walk down to the bowling alley (a fully functioning, retro alley might I add), and order at the bar. Nook Curds ($13.75) - It's a big basket of battered and fried cheese curds. There's bacon mixed in the batter, giving that smoky and salty, meaty element, and then drizzled honey for some very complementary sweetness. The batter is lightly crisp and the cheese curds inside are completely softened, to the point of being gooey and stretchy. Definitely no squeak here, but these were so delicious that I didn't particularly care. (5/5) Juicy Nookie Burger ($15.95) - Now that's a burger. Huge patty, completely filled with a large pocket of hot, melty, gooey, stretchy American cheese that gushes out while biting through the patty. It's decadent and rich, and that patty - charred so well, giving a robustly smoky charred flavor along with a strong natural beefiness, a result of the patty only being cooked until medium pink. Somehow even with so much cheese stuffed inside, it doesn't leak out at all. It's a pretty simple burger, with just that patty, three pickle rounds on the side, and a bun. The bun is buttered and barely toasted, just enough to give a hint of toastiness and hold up to the massive patty. It cradles the beef like a baby and sucks up all the patty juices and cheese. The burger comes with fresh homemade fries, fried heavily until dark brown, making them similar in both look and taste to my secret craving for Better Made Rainbow Chips, which has a heavily caramelized almost slightly burnt flavor. And yet somehow they aren't over fried in terms of texture. The outside isn't super crisp like commercial battered fries, instead the clear homemade nature leaves some softer areas interspersed with the crunch. The insides, of course, are still perfectly fluffy, and there are little crumbs spread out all along the bottom for an extra crunch. These fries are the height of deliciousness. (5/5) Yes, I've been missing this kind of fatty, unctuous, filling, greasy, rich food after moving away from the Midwest to Seattle. You simply can't get this kind of food anywhere in the PNW.
