Since we didn't have a reservation, we arrived early and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. From the moment we walked in, we loved everything about the place. The décor is beautiful, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff was fantastic. The menu offers so many great options, and the cocktails were even better than expected. Our server, Rosie, provided excellent recommendations, and we genuinely loved everything we ordered. They also offer a great happy hour until 6 PM, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I highly recommend giving it a try. One small note: We didn't realize a 20% gratuity had already been added to our bill. That's partially on us for not catching it on the credit card slip, (we tipped in cash) but I do think it would be helpful if servers mentioned it when presenting the check. I typically prefer to tip in cash, so on our $62 tab, we ended up leaving a $34 tip. Even with that little surprise, we'll absolutely be back. They fail to indicate on the menu or through the server that a 20% gratuity is automatically added. This should be made clear. Such a fun cocktail bar! Deliciously curated and unique drinks, and the food is actually very good as well, great spot for date night! We tried a couple dishes and drinks, both for the Halloween pop up and on their main menu, and loved everything. The only issue we had is that there was some miscommunication/ aggression regarding last call and closing time - I think those things could be better communicated by servers early on, as many parties were kicked out of the dining room with food and drink still remaining. I am not ready to pass judgment on the menu as we only ordered one starter plate- the Buratta. Like the drinks, it was way too sweet. The cheese was served over "pesto." It was pesto in the sense that it was a paste of herbs- mint was the predominant one and about all you could taste, but it appears they also added honey or another sweetener. way too sweet. Came to Bar Cart for some post dinner drinks. The aesthetic of the place was very cute, with low lighting, tiny lamps on the table, fun photos in the bathroom, etc. Everyone at our table ordered the espresso martini, and I don't think anyone was absolutely head over heels for it. It was good, but their espresso must be premade and chilled for quite some time - instead of pulling fresh shots from an espresso machine. I know this because I actually asked for an espresso on the side (to take as a pick me up) and it came out as a cold shot. Again, not the worst espresso martini I've had but there's just a different taste you get with fresh shots. We also didn't get that nice crema finish on top because of it. After the martini, I tried a vesper for the first time. Our server gave a great description of it, so I knew what to expect. Very bright and strong flavor. Good, but just not my favorite. This place was relatively small with eclectic decor, which I really enjoyed. The floor to ceiling bar was really cool. It was also absolutely freezing inside, which made our visit a little uncomfortable. Service was really, really slow. Although the server was nice, they weren't helpful and didn't provide any recommendations. It also took forever to get a drink. After each order, we had to wait 15-20 minutes to get the drink. It's also worth noting it wasn't very busy when we were there... As for the drinks, the espresso martini was a little hard to stomach. It was super bitter and overall one of the worst I've ever had. You're A Daisy If You Do was better and would be a perfect drink for fall (especially if served warm!). It was a little light on any distinguishable taste though. The star for me was the Clover Club. We had date night and went to Bar and Cart. We were greeted immediately and taken to our table. The first thing you notice is that it's very loud. It's well decorated with cute little oil lamps at every table. We started out with some drinks. I got the seasonal Cunning Monkey which is banana infused aged rum, Velvet Falernum, Banana Liqueur, Pineapple Gomme, lime juice. Wow! This was delicious and refreshing. My wife got the Angel's in The Garden which is gin, lavender, Creme de Violette, Concord Grape Acid. Nice floral taste on the back side. I'm not a gin fan but this was amazing! We started off Burrata Pesto which is warmed burrata, herbed pesto, pistachio, golden raisins, local bare honey, parmesan, crostini. Amazing! Flavors all worked, the honey was so delicious with that salty crunch of the pistachio! Probably the best pesto I've had. This is a must try. For mains we got the shrimp Po Boy which is Grilled cajun shrimp, cajun remoulade, jalapenos, tomatoes, shredded lettuce. Po Boys are my favorite and unfortunately this fell flat to me. Shrimp and remoulade were delicious but it was served in a top split hotdog bun. A disservice to the Po Boy. We also got the Coney Island which is Coney island beef, yellow mustard, white onion, sport peppers. Initially we were not impressed but my wife mentioned they skipped the yellow mustard. We asked for some and wow that made a huge difference. Super flavorful and the Coney Island beef dog was delicious. We also wanted to try the chicken schnitzel which is garlic & sour cream smashed red potatoes. Lightly pan fried chicken breast, southern white gravy. This was worst of the 3. Lacked flavor and had a burnt taste. My wife scrapped some of the gravy away and you could see the chicken was burnt. Overall the place was nice. I really enjoyed getting the happy hour specials from 3-6 pm. I think the big ass glass of wine for $10 is a great special if you're ready to have some fun with friends. My favorite though would have to be the oysters for $2, they were fresh and I highly recommend the Edgewater. I loved using the habanero tincture that came with them (make sure to ask if they forget to bring it over). My only complaint is that both times I've gone recently, I was overcharged and had to get the bill corrected. They made it very easy but if you want to save yourself some time just make sure to double check the prices. We tried Bar Cart for the first time last night and it was SO GOOD! We made it just in time for their happy hour- ordered nachos, old fashioned, and wine. The nachos were perfectly covered in cheese. The coconut curry sea bass was easily one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. The sea bass was a little crispy on the outside and the curry was incredible. The smash burger was tasty and flavorful. My husband said it was the best burger he's had in that price range. We wanted dessert but didn't save enough room! Every neighborhood needs a hang out - your go to date night spot, your after work happy hour, your late night quickie - and Bar Cart certainly fulfills this role, leaving me extremely envious of those close enough to enjoy this spot over and over. Came for a solo date because I'd heard good things from a friend, was craving oysters, and not many of my friends enjoy oysters, but when I have a craving...well, lack of company won't stop me. Ordered one of each oyster and a loaded hummus as well as the pisco sour. The oysters were great! Usually MN doesn't get a great selection, and if they do have them, it's only east coast, and to my delight, there were west coast oysters which are my favorite! I would argue the mignonette wasn't really a mignonette (can you have a mignonette without shallots? Not even a one?) but nonetheless the experience hit the spot. The loaded hummus is truly loaded - piled high with plenty of hummus, olives, tomatoes, feta, and roasted red pepper, it was a delight to snack on and plenty to bring home to toast the flatbread. The pisco sour was also lovely - I really enjoy pisco and love to look for it on menus after first experiencing it this year at a pisco bar, and Bar Cart makes a delightful version - perfectly tropical but the fruity tartness is balanced out by the egg white and balsamic vinegar, almost making it taste savory-esque. Service was great - seated promptly at 3p when they opened at the bar upon my request, and the bartender was friendly and prompt whenever I needed something. For a Wednesday afternoon though, they were surprisingly busy! There were plenty of guests that trickled in after myself and it was ambient enough to take in the sounds while dining. Some of their pricing seems to be a little inconsistent though - loaded hummus should have been $9 during HH but they charged $13 and I didn't notice until after I left. But the oysters were charged at the HH price, so unsure if their menus are outdated or if was keyed in error. Either way, the food and service is worth coming back for and it's definitely a place to check out if you're on the east side of the metro - the vibes are immaculate and what more could you ask for? read more

This place has been hit or miss for us! The space is cute and very pituresque but a bit cramped with the amount of tables per square foot. As a result it was always really loud I'm our opinion during dinner times and hard to have a conversation. I recently stopped in here for a drink, and I regret that I only had room for dessert! The menu looked so good, and my bread pudding was FIRE. It was served warm with a yummy caramel sauce and ice cream. My espresso martini was also stellar. My boyfriend and I went on a Friday night and were seated quickly. The green lights, mid century modern decor, and massive bar wall made this place feel cozy and swanky. We started off with some drinks. I got the amaretto sour and my friend got the Penicillin! Both were super tasty and well presented. The menu consisted of salads, spreads, fancy sandwiches, and dinner dishes. I got the meatball sub and it was super flavorful. However, I could not figure out why the bill was so large for what we ordered. I checked the receipt this morning to find that that had included an automatic gratuity without letting me know. I added a $18.00 gratuity which as it turns out, the gratuity was 50% of the bill. I think this is dishonest and bad business. I would have added an additional gratuity to the automatic one, but not $18.00. Look at your bill carefully! I think this lacks integrity.
