Such a fun cocktail bar! Deliciously curated and unique drinks, and the food is actually very good as well, great spot for date night! We tried a couple dishes and drinks, both for the Halloween pop up and on their main menu, and loved everything. The only issue we had is that there was some miscommunication/ aggression regarding last call and closing time - I think those things could be better communicated by servers early on, as many parties were kicked out of the dining room with food and drink still remaining. But besides that, we had a great time and will be back!

This bar and restaurant has a wonderful happy hour. Drinks are priced great and very cute. Cozy atmosphere, dim lighting, small bar with many tables surrounding it. Must be 21+ to enter. Staff is super friendly! Great bites to eat there as well!

Always a popular late night spot, I've been impressed with the service, drinks, food, and vibes! They will often have live music - just look up to find where they are! It's a small little place, so I recommend making a reservation or going during off-peak times.

Damn this place was good. Awesome HH. Made reservations. Not sure what the bar seating availability is like but I recommend reservations. I asked about the oysters and just ended up ordering 2 of each. Super fresh and tasty. After getting the oysters bar counter education from Fanny Bay Oysters (Vancouver, B.C.) a few months ago, I had been having a craving and these more than satisfied. But then I took a hard left and also had the footlong Coney dog (Gopher Bar still makes the best) and a pile of beef carpaccio with a quail egg. Everything was so good! A couple of raw things and something processed to the extreme. Being of German heritage, I approve. Oh and the drinks. Yum. And their glass of wine? You won't go wrong. It's called the BFG or something. You'll understand.

One of my favorite restaurants I have never had a bad meal or service! Always packed and the decor is to die for romantic yet vibrant with patrons!

Lovely reinvention of the Kyhber Pass space. Interesting cocktail menu, though my two drinks were both a bit too sweet. they have an extensive liquor menu. I hope they get more creative and take advantage of their inventory as they move forward. The service was confusing. multiple people waited on us and we weren't quite sure who to ask for help. I am not ready to pass judgment on the menu as we only ordered one starter plate- the Buratta. Like the drinks, it was way too sweet. The cheese was served over "pesto." It was pesto in the sense that it was a paste of herbs- mint was the predominant one and about all you could taste, but it appears they also added honey or another sweetener. way too sweet. Need salt, acid, and a pop of heat (spice) I was intrigued enough to go back, but not overly impressed.

Came to Bar Cart for some post dinner drinks. The aesthetic of the place was very cute, with low lighting, tiny lamps on the table, fun photos in the bathroom, etc. Everyone at our table ordered the espresso martini, and I don't think anyone was absolutely head over heels for it. It was good, but their espresso must be premade and chilled for quite some time - instead of pulling fresh shots from an espresso machine. I know this because I actually asked for an espresso on the side (to take as a pick me up) and it came out as a cold shot. Again, not the worst espresso martini I've had but there's just a different taste you get with fresh shots. We also didn't get that nice crema finish on top because of it. After the martini, I tried a vesper for the first time. Our server gave a great description of it, so I knew what to expect. Very bright and strong flavor. Good, but just not my favorite. Very cute presentation though-- I loved their glassware.

This place was relatively small with eclectic decor, which I really enjoyed. The floor to ceiling bar was really cool. It was also absolutely freezing inside, which made our visit a little uncomfortable. Service was really, really slow. Although the server was nice, they weren't helpful and didn't provide any recommendations. It also took forever to get a drink. After each order, we had to wait 15-20 minutes to get the drink. It's also worth noting it wasn't very busy when we were there... As for the drinks, the espresso martini was a little hard to stomach. It was super bitter and overall one of the worst I've ever had. You're A Daisy If You Do was better and would be a perfect drink for fall (especially if served warm!). It was a little light on any distinguishable taste though. The star for me was the Clover Club. It was SO GOOD. It's hard to explain its taste, but the best I can do is that is smelled like Christmas, but tasted like summer. 10/10 recommend that drink.

Very good food, and the drinks were delicious. The restaurant was super loud and hard to hear others on a Thursday night but it's very cute inside. Service wasn't great but the restaurant was very busy. Prices were so cheap, but coming from LA so not the most reliable judge. Came out to $70 (pre mandatory gratuity) for 3 people with 3 drinks and 3 appetizers

This place is packed. Make sure to make RSVP. Or you can sit at bar or lounge. Happy Hour is amazing. Hummus is a little dry. But ask for some olive oil to pour all over it then it's perfect. The lamb chop with curry lentil is exceptional. They are very savory with a nice kick to it. Some kind kind of fresh citrusy zest. Or just some zest of life ha! The creamed goat cheese also have zing. All of them sound so heavy but they are light and hits all your palette. Super balance dishes. Great palate. Last but not least. Amazing cocktails. Order anything. Can not ho wrong

Get the nachos. They understand nachos. Most people mess up nachos by piling up the chips and adorning just the top with deliciousness -amateurs! Bar Cart has every chip fully loaded. It's amazing. The oysters were fantastic. The beef tartare was good --- the sliced baguettes were slightly too crunchy, and I would have preferred about 2-3 more. The hummus was excellent. I didn't love the poke bowl -- but I was full by then, so I couldn't trust my taste buds. I can't wait to go back.

It is not a huge space but the decor and atmosphere is absolutely adorable. I get the sense that they are consistently very busy, so would probably recommend a reservation. The food was very solid, and shareable. As a group of 4 we got a few dishes and just shared them amongst each other which was really nice. The drink menu had a lot of classics but also some pretty unique options which I enjoyed.

We had date night and went to Bar and Cart. We were greeted immediately and taken to our table. The first thing you notice is that it's very loud. It's well decorated with cute little oil lamps at every table. We started out with some drinks. I got the seasonal Cunning Monkey which is banana infused aged rum, Velvet Falernum, Banana Liqueur, Pineapple Gomme, lime juice. Wow! This was delicious and refreshing. My wife got the Angel's in The Garden which is gin, lavender, Creme de Violette, Concord Grape Acid. Nice floral taste on the back side. I'm not a gin fan but this was amazing! We started off Burrata Pesto which is warmed burrata, herbed pesto, pistachio, golden raisins, local bare honey, parmesan, crostini. Amazing! Flavors all worked, the honey was so delicious with that salty crunch of the pistachio! Probably the best pesto I've had. This is a must try. For mains we got the shrimp Po Boy which is Grilled cajun shrimp, cajun remoulade, jalapenos, tomatoes, shredded lettuce. Po Boys are my favorite and unfortunately this fell flat to me. Shrimp and remoulade were delicious but it was served in a top split hotdog bun. A disservice to the Po Boy. We also got the Coney Island which is Coney island beef, yellow mustard, white onion, sport peppers. Initially we were not impressed but my wife mentioned they skipped the yellow mustard. We asked for some and wow that made a huge difference. Super flavorful and the Coney Island beef dog was delicious. We also wanted to try the chicken schnitzel which is garlic & sour cream smashed red potatoes. Lightly pan fried chicken breast, southern white gravy. This was worst of the 3. Lacked flavor and had a burnt taste. My wife scrapped some of the gravy away and you could see the chicken was burnt. Overall the place was nice. We definitely will be back for their appetizers and drinks. Side note they add 20% gratuity on your check which is split between all employees.

    Oysters! Highly recommend the Edgewater

A few notes to set the scene I went today for lunch on a lovely 70 degree Spring day after getting a haircut across the street to check some work emails, grab a beer and quick lunch to go order. Full disclosure: I'm slightly biased bc I grew up about a mile away and just moved home recently, so any cool vibey place in the old neighborhood has a special place in my heart. That said, it has a very cozy/hip neighborhood feel and understated sophistication for what is a pretty residential and quiet area of St Paul The 5/5 elements... Scott (who I think may be the owner?) is super cool, was serving/tending bar and running around to manage the patio while chatting me up & giving great recs on beer/food based on my half hearted description while I multi tasked on work nonsense. Awesome guy, and reason enough to check this place out The vibe/softly playing music and entrancing Twin Cities flyover footage playing in the background on the TV at the bar was oddly soothing Ordered brisket tacos, brussels sprouts, and fried chicken sandwich for myself + a friend to go. Yamahama, I'm not gonna cheat and double check the menu, but the brussels have a delicious umami flavor from either duck fat or facsimile that perfectly balances the acid from the balsamic/vinegar situation. Fried chicken sandwich is a KILLER, highly recommend. Came here for a date night, I got the Broiled Miso Salmon and one glass of wine and my partner got the Steak Frites and a coke. Our bill was $95! Ouch. The bad: If it were really really good I would be willing to pay for it, but I felt that the flavors in my dish, in salmon, carrot ginger sauce, and cauliflower, were whispering at best. I think the cauliflower could have used a sauce or been crispier, it just seemed boring and soggy. The steak and fries also came out cold :( my partner really knows his steaks and was not impressed, it was over cooked for medium rare and it had clearly been sitting too long. Not worth the $38! The good: The space itself is decorated really well, it's pretty dark but the theme comes together really nicely. I personally enjoyed the indie/pop music they had playing and it wasn't too loud. I really enjoyed the Chardonnay ($16) and they had a decent selection of wine but only a handful were by the glass. You can get glasses of by the bottle wines if you commit to getting at least two glasses though which is good to know. For me, the service really saved this review, our server was so nice and friendly, attentive but not overbearing. I would maybe grab a drink and an appetizer here sometime but will definitely hold out on dinner again until their prices chill or the food gets better. ‍ TLDR: Too expensive for the food quality

Relatively easy to find, though you do have to hunt a little bit, Flora Room sits behind a nondescript metal door leading down a short hallway to the entrance. Once seated in comfortable chairs at a table, we were quickly greeted and provided with menus. The cocktail selection is relatively "small" but really nicely varied. Prices seemed a tad steep but frankly, given the quality of the drinks I'd say quite worth it. I started out with the Evita, a nice flavorful gin-base cocktail topped with a nice egg white foam. Very tasty. My wife opted for the Tapaculo, with gin, mezcal, pineapple, banana and bitters over ice. Also quite good. There are also bites available from the associated restaurant I can't recall the name of mine but I can say it was delicious. Bread-like bites with a really tasty dipping sauce. The space itself isn't terribly large, and it looked like there were only three or four people working that evening. After being seated, it took a while before we were able to order our first round of drinks. Normally I don't focus much on service in reviews, but we could immediately tell our waitress was not having a great night. We were forgotten about a few times, but eventually managed to order some small bites, including a charcuterie board and some pretty yummy cheese curds. When we finally caught her for our second round, I complimented her glasses since they were similar to mine, partially in an attempt to cheer her up. I was met with a glare and a mumbled "thanks." When she walked away, all four of us kind of looked at each other like... dang, we're not sure what we did. Having all worked in service ourselves, we try to be respectful, stack our dishes, wipe up after ourselves, and generally make things easier where we can. Oddly enough, when it came time to pay, she returned with a completely different attitude... suddenly cheerful, friendly, and telling us to have a great night. Honestly, the whole interaction was a little bizarre! Service aside, the cocktails were balanced and genuinely good, the food was slightly elevated and hit the spot, and the atmosphere was great, especially with the DJ playing that night. We decided to Uber since we knew we'd be drinking, so I can't speak firsthand to parking, although it looked like street parking could be moderately difficult depending on the night. I'd still go back if I were in the area and the night warranted it. My guess is we caught them on an off night or they ended up busier than anticipated.
