The food is decent. Based off customer service, my experience was poor. My family was not greeted, at all. A guy up front pointed to a table across the restaurant and waited for us to sit. Pica yes is your typical Mexican restaurant with the menu that looks like a booklet and chips and salsa flow to every table. I showed up an hour before closing and was treated nicely. Usually when you arrive near closing time the waitstaff can treat you bad. But that was not the case tonight. I ordered the beef chimichanga, which came with rice and beans. I asked for No beans. Food came out in 10 minutes and was piping hot. The chimichanga was full of ground beef and onions and the shell was crispy. It also has flavor! Usually the ground beef is tasteless in a chimichanga but this one was good. The rice was superb! It was some of the best Mexican rice I've ever eaten! I could eat that by itself. read more

Greetings. Please take this review as somewhat outdated but duly necessary. I am grateful to the kind experience and loving community I had the great privilege of witnessing on February 2021. The food was great. Very hot. I was amazed at how the plate was when I was cautioned to not touch it while observing the woman who hand delivered it without problem. This was a great visit from my trip from New Orleans, LA after barely passing a work-mandated certification exam. I ordered dinner from this place off DoorDash 4 days ago, and I'm now writing a review... that should tell you something! My business takes me through Jackson every couple of months and this place will be my go-to for ordering food at the hotel; hopefully at some point I can go to the actual restaurant. The steak fajitas were perfect (more than enough for two) and the fajita veggies were fresh, cooked just right. Two caveats: ONE - be sure to read everything that is included in each dish, you can specify if you want something omitted (for me, it was avocados & guacamole). TWO - the tortillas are the small kind (about the size of a tea saucer) so be sure to order extras if you're going to make little tacos out of the fajitas. ********* SUGGESTION FOR RESTAURANT: Loved the chips & cheese sauce BUT... the container your put the cheese sauce in was made of styrofoam and by the time we were enjoying the cheese sauce it had gotten cold. Problem with styrofoam is, you can't heat it up in the microwave. Fortunately I was at a Residence Inn and had a bowl I could transfer the sauce into, but maybe consider something a little more microwave-friendly for you cheese sauce. I'd say that IN GENERAL customers really hate styrofoam these days, I know it's a little cheaper for your restaurant but it tends to break apart and put little white balls in the food. It may be the best low quality tex-med in town, but it is a pretty low bar. Mainly for the price this is actually my favorite place to go for Mexican food. They have a bunch of specials for $7-8. Margaritas are hit or miss. I personally prefer the plain frozen one because sometimes the strawberry is ~too~ sweet you almost can't drink it. Happy hour is now 4-9 but 2 for 1 margs is a great deal! The waiter was very nice. But the food was both boiling hot and cold. Was clearly put on the plate cold and run under the broiler. The verde sauce was separated and watery as if it had been frozen. Or at least it was cold and heated on the food - not hot and stirred when it was put on. The food was bland and uninspired. Horrible customer service! No one greeted us when we walked in. The bar tender had a bad attitude and made the drinks incorrectly and refused to take it back. We walked out due to bad customer service before ordering food and after sending the drink back, the bar tender came behind us and told us we couldn't return and proceeded to have words in front of other customers with my husband. Will not be returning. La Cazuela is less than a mile away has outstanding customer service and great food and drinks. Between both visits, we were not impressed at the non flavorful non authentic options they presented and we're from Socal where you find great mexican food. **Chile relleno- not up to par, lacks flavor, not fresh by far. Cheese sauce on it is basic. **Beef tamale- old, stale, like it was reheated 5x b4 I got it in my order with some very salty chili on it. **Chicken burrito- dry, extremely salty meat and non melting cheese and out of the can enchilada sauce. **Cheese enchilada- let's just say Taco Bell has a much better cheesy roll up for $1. **Chicken taco- it was just a flop. Too simple. **Rolled tacos- very mediocre, guac no good. I gave 2 stars simply for the chips and salsa that they give you. read more

Fresh and delicious food finally!! This location has always been a hinderance to businesses that occupy the space. I think parking is the biggest issues. Hopefully this restaurant will thrive! The variety of food on the menu is pretty standard to the Tex-Mex fare here in town but they excel in the freshness of the ingredients and the taste! Service was quick and very attentive and from ordering for 2 to it being at our table was less than 15 minutes. They've still got all the TV's from the last tenant, so this might be a great spot to watch some Futbol. We'll be back again, and often! read more
