I've been enjoying Los Pinos for lunches since they opened, as our office building is just a very short walk away. I've never been disappointed in the food or service at lunch. Have also had a couple of dinners, and again, no sad tale to tell. Last night, for the first time, I ordered takeout for my family - they hadn't eaten LP before. They all loved it!! Our friends from El Dorado Hills invited us to dinner and suggested Los Pinos for Mexican food. I was excited to try something different and outside of Folsom so we hopped on the 50 freeway and headed towards Cameron Park. Lots of parking around the restaurant, so don't worry about finding a close place to park. We had no problem getting seated quickly for our party of four (plus one baby). The staff were super accommadating to the little baby and allowed us to put the car seat on the ground. When we arrived, they immediately brought over free chips and salsa & dip! Addicting! I ordered the steak quesadilla for my main course (even though it was an appetizer order). The steak quesadilla was actually amazing. The steak was FRESH and the meal itself was HUGE. I had to take half home. Overall, good customer service and I would totally come back for more! My husband ordered some enchiladas and enjoyed his meal. 1st time going, and if I could give 1/2 or no starts I would have. I waited at the hostess stand for a while, before getting someone's attention to seat me and my family. We were finally seated and waited again for our waitress to come to the table. By way of information, we were the only patrons in the restaurant. We ordered our drinks and were brought chips with salsa and beans, which were very yummy. We went through all of our chips and dips and finished all of our drinks before our waitress came back to take our order. We placed our order and asked for some more chips, salsa, and beans. We had almost finished our 2nd round of chips before our meals started to arrive. My grandson's food came out first. Then my husband got his (which was cold), then mine came out (which was cold) we started to eat ours while waiting for my daughters to come out. After about 5 minutes passed and her meal still had not arrived, we flagged down our server and asked about her meal. Again another few minutes passed and then her meal came out. She ordered cheese enchiladas and let me just say that the cheese was so hard she had to use a knife to cut through them. We all took about 2 bites out of our meals and were like this food is horrible. I debated sending it back, but with our experience with service, we just wanted the bill and to leave. Our server was nowhere to be found. We waited and waited and to be honest, debated just walking out, she finally came and said that she was distracted and would get our bill. I paid the $80.00 bill and left. I will never go back and will discourage anyone from eating there. I spent a lot of money on dinner for my family, left the restaurant, and went to McDonalds. Went in on a Monday took 10min to get my drink order and 15 min to order waited an additional 45min no food no explanation no attention so we got up and left. They claim they are under staffed well unfortunately for Los Pinos you can't make money if you leave your customers waiting for 45min with no attention they are not ready to reopen if you are the manager don't take a day off if you are under staffed read more

My first meal was their Breakfast Tacos with chorizo and eggs, biggest tacos I've ever had, could only eat one and saved second for lunch! The restaurant atmosphere is nice and clean. The staff is friendly and attentive. However, the food is mas o menos, more or less average. I had higher hopes for this place based on the appearance. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, it lacked the basic flavor that goes into one of these...lime, spice and cilantro. It had a sweet base (almost like ketchup). We also got the carne asada with cilantro rice and black beans. The steak was good, but the rest was ok. The prickly pear margarita was good and the overall prices on the menu were quite reasonable. When we first moved to Cameron park it was good. We have been about 4 times since and every time it has gotten worse and worse. The worst tonight was our door dash order. My husband ordered a burrito with veggies and the veggies were raw. Like just cut up and put in there. Everything was cold and we live very close, cheese was gross. We are eating the beans with chips for dinner after spending $50 to order from here. Very disappointed. I know it's a pandemic but this was bad. Won't be trying again, sorry los pinos. read more

I was pleasantly surprised today at lunch. I had been here a couple times before and it was ok. Today the service was great and tur food was very good. We both had chili rellenos. Rice and beans good. My friend said it was the best they have ever eaten. We shared the jalapeno peppers, which come attractively served on lettuce with a good dip sauce and what's great is they are not battered and fried. Los Pinos proved to be a disappointment from the moment we walked in the door. I had made a reservation online, the hostess seem to have no idea that one is even able to make a reservation online. Wevwent to the bar. Thrbvery stressed out bartender was making drinks for the dining room. She never once looked up to greet us, nor did she say a word. She also ignored the half a dozen beer glasses and dirty napkins that were sitting right in front of us, instead of apologizing for the mess and moving them away. We were never asked if we wanted a drink. After being seated, we were able to place a drink order. My margarita came first, the waitress apologizing and telling my husband that the bartender needed something in order to make his white Russian so it would be a minute. Our food ended up taking an inordinate amount of time, finally the server explained to us that whilr the kitchen had made my dinner, they had forgotten my husbands. After about 10 minutes, I asked the waitress if my food was just sitting back there getting cold while waiting for my husband's. She assured me it was not. Our food and came out, it was not what I ordered, so it went back to the kitchen. My tacos then came back out served on what looked and tasted like boxed premade hard tortilla shells. Both of our meals were bland and sloppily presented. The server could see I did not like the food so she took it off our bill. Not her fault, but there seemed to be a big problem in the kitchen last night. I see both good and bad reviews for this place, I probably should have looked before we went. This is the worst food I have ever had. The guacamole was brown and watery. Beans were watery. Rice was extremely dry and had an awful flavor. I got chicken enchiladas and the chicken inside was watery. All my enchilada tasted like was canned chicken. I am so disappointed and upset that I wasted $65 on this food that I just had to throw away; it was basically in-editable! I only had two bites of my food and I feel like I am going to be sick. We had them cater our daughter's graduation party this weekend and everything was wonderful! Taco bar with chicken and steak, awesome salsa, chips and all the toppings. I had the enchiladas rancheros, they were so bland and no amount of their salsa helped. We also ordered guacamole; I'm not sure how you can make guacamole bland and almost tasteless but it was. I only ate less than half my meal as the enchiladas were swimming in water from the lettuce they put on top and also the tasteless red sauce the used it almost tasted like tomato water. The refried beans weren't too bad but my rice was cold and tasteless. We did order this from DoorDash but the restaurant is only 5 minutes away no reason why it should be cold.
