Mu Shu Pork & Sweet and Sour Chicken

Food = 10, Service = 10, Ambiance = 10 Coming home decided to stop here for Chinese Food. Oh my Goodness, the food was surprisingly delicious. Outside appearance need some cleaning up, but the food is excellent. We got the Mu Shu Pork and Sweat and Sour Chicken. The Chicken was fresh and perfect seasoned with lots of pineapple and vegetables. Mu Shu Pork was my favorite. So tasty , it comes with the "tortillas" and plum sauce. This will be our place to stop from now on when we go in road trips to SF.

The food and service here were great once we figured out what to do. It was rather confusing at first whether it was counter-service or not. There were a bunch of pamphlet-style menus on tables that looked like carry-out menus, which in the end I guess they were, but also served as the table service menus, too. We got seated and ordered. The number of tofu/veggie dishes was impressive. The server/person running all of the front-of-house was really efficient. The food was outstanding and the portions were huge. I think everyone took food away. My only complaint food-wise is that everything came in to-go containers (even for dine-in) and styrofoam plates and plastic utensils were given. Maybe since the portions are huge, everyone always wants to-go containers so they just serve it that way.

Stopped on our way to Antelope Valley and all I can think was why don't we have good Chinese food like this closer to town? I mean, we do have good Chinese food but the price difference is huge. My daughter and I shared the fried rice and shrimps and we had enough to take home for two more meals. Food was cooked to order so you are ensured that it is fresh. It was a little bit confusing how to order with a couple of big screens where you could place your order and pay but the person by the counter is friendly and approachable. Certainly worth the stop next time we crave for Chinese food while on the road.

Great place for a quick bite on the drive south on the 5 to go home. Super friendly service, generous portions, and the flavor is not too salty, not too bland,

Walking in, I noticed the restaurant is clean and cold. If you want ambiance, this isn't the place. Plenty of tables and the food smelled good. You walk up to the counter and place your order on a touch screen. Click the item you want, add to your order, then click the next item and so on. When done, swipe your card and wait to pick up your order at the counter. Chicken fried rice and orange chicken to go for me. The order came out fast and I was on my way in no time. The orange chicken was well cooked and a large portion. I just wish there was more orange flavor and more sauce to mix with the included steamed rice. The fried rice was also bland. Had higher expectations. Definitely not gross but it's the best in town!

    Cream cheese wontons. Always delicious!

The employee is so professional and kind. I got the wontons and the Cashew chicken. So far I'd had the wontons and as always, delicious, clean, very satisfying! I'll update when I enjoy the chicken. Well, I didnt really care for the Cashew Chicken. Cashews were soft. Food was bland. It wasn't bad. Just didn't hit the spot.

There are many other options on their menu, feel free to explore. My kids are picky eaters but they absolutely love the Chinese food from here. I of course enjoy the authentic sechuan flavor being Chinese myself. The restaurant is kept tidy and clean, if you want a dine in experience I recommend you to make a booking, walk-in is very welcome but keep note that sometimes it gets really crowded. They have frozen handmade dumplings for sale too if that's something you want to look into.

Was surprised to find such an authentic spot for Chinese in Oak Park!…read more I came by for a Mother's Day lunch with my family. When we arrived around 1 pm, the restaurant was maybe half full. But clearly it was popular as people were coming in constantly the entire time we were eating. Even though the restaurant is called Yunnan Restaurant, most of the dishes on the menu were more like Sichuan dishes i.e. spicy. All of the food was super solid and portions were ginormous. My recommendation is to order 1 dish per person if you want leftovers, or order one less dish than the # of people if you want to finish most of the food. I don't handle spice very well, so we ordered a mix of spicy and non-spicy dishes. We shared the following: #1 Yunan rice noodles ($16.99) #32 scallion pancake ($8.99) #104 Chong qing fried chicken ($16.99) #107 braised pork belly with buns ($19.99) #109 boiled two items - fish and duck blood ($21.99) Given that the restaurant is called Yunnan Restaurant, we felt like we had to order one of the most popular dishes from that region, the Yunan rice noodles i.e. crossing the bridge noodles. I really enjoyed the silky smooth mixian noodles as well as the flavorful broth. The fried chicken was too spicy for me; I ate one piece and my whole mouth was on fire. Everyone else said it was quite spicy as well, so eat this in moderation unless you can really handle your spice. The 3 pepper signs next to this dish on the menu are no joke! The braised pork belly was delicious, but portions were on the smaller side for this one. Still, I enjoyed making a little bun sandwich with the pork belly and pickled veggies. The boiled fish and duck blood was also super solid. It was just a little spicy, so I was able to manage a couple pieces with the help of rice on the side. Portions were very generous for this dish. We all ate lots of fish and duck blood and still had a ton left to take home. They also have some precooked 涼菜, i.e. cold dishes, on the side you can buy for dine-in or to go. We got 3 of the meats - pork tongue, pork head, and and beef tripe, to go. Paid $16.99 for a huge box of these meats. We thought this was a steal too. Can't wait to try some at home!

Niece who ordered through the app got her food quicker. She knew how to claim her rewards. I had the plate with 1/2 steamed rice and 1/2 chow mein. The chow mein tray was refilled while we were in line. For my 2 entrees, I chose the mushroom chicken and eggplant tofu. The manager confirmed with me that I wanted to wait for the eggplant tofu. I did. He told the chef to make a fresh batch. By the time I got to the cashier, it was only a little bit of a wait. The chef had already made the fresh batch and all the lady had to do was put it in the serving tray and complete my order. It was plenty of food and satisfying. First thing I noticed is this place is simple yet has a quality about it. I would bring a date here, rather maybe a second or third date. It's nice inside. Wait staff was amazing. Now to the good stuff! I ordered chicken chow fun and partner had Mushu pork and for the appetizer we ordered the paper wrapped chicken. The chicken hit the table first wrapped in tin foil. That didn't deter us at all. This was served with duck sauce and spicy mustard. The mustard was amazing but i love spice! I will tell you this; if you like fast Chinese food like Panda Express and that is what you think of Chinese food then stay there. Here you'll get properly seasoned fair.
