Chicken enchiladas. Some bean spillage but who cares!
Misty F.

I love this place. The building is cute and the food is pretty good. I don't expect iron chef made food in Mountain Home but this place hits the Mexican food spot. Been here plenty of times and will continue to go.

Breakfast burrito with sausage

We were super happy with our burritos and tacos (and we're Mexican food snobs from Southern CA) Breakfast burrito was great, chicken burrito was moist and crispy, street tacos were yummy. The hot sauces had good heat with flavor. We will definitely be coming back. Service was good, prices were affordable; so wish the burritos were bigger

It was fast, fresh, and tasty. Server was pleasant as well. I had the 3 amigos with shredded beef.

My favorite Mexican spot in town! I've had the enchiladas and fajitas and loved all of them!

I ordered Bandeja Paisa, which comes with carne asada, red beans, chorizo, pork belly, egg, sweet plantains, and a small corn cake. It was a flavor ride in each bite. My wife ordered the carne asada, which was flavorful and well-seasoned. It came with a chimichurri sauce that made the dish come alive. Everybody raves about the authenticity and flavor of the food. Empanadas, tamales, and fried plantains stand out in particular. People also favored guava juice and unique drinks such as tamarillo and maracuya juices. Portions are large; platters can be shared. The place is warm, well-organized, and inviting, which makes me feel at home. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, providing a great dining experience. It is an unpretentious place, but the food and service at El Cafetal are great. If you are craving some authentic Colombian flavors, look no further. Definitely back soon!

I showed up at Happy Hour and now that's 50% off drinks priced $15 and below. The old fashioned is perfect. I also ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeño shrimp. Delectable! Matthew provided excellent service at the bar. I invited some folks and we were in Olivia's section. Perfect service. Beautiful. Knowledgeable. Fun. We had the enquires and device. Delicious. Portions were huge. Many different options of plates that were on the Happy Hour Menu. We also had the Red Velvet Church's. So airy. So light. Compliments to the chef. The decor is authentic and had mood lighting. Enjoyed everything about it 5 star service and food.

I was excited to dine here (first visit), but was disappointed in the food and drinks…read more Walking in, the decor is beautiful and dramatic. Full bar, large booths. It's very inviting, if not decadent feeling. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were lacking. My mocktail was recommended by our server, but it was much too sweet, and had a weird aftertaste. We ordered chips, guac, and it came with two versions of salsa. One was incredibly bitter (tasted very vinegar-y), while the other just tasted strange. Neither me or my husband like it. The guac, however, was very good. We ordered the Seafood Ceviche, which is a dish we usually love, but not so much here! It was covered in an orange sauce that was overly acidic. It was so much and so acidic, we couldn't taste the seafood. It was lost in the sauce. It seems as though whoever's in the kitchen lacks some culinary intuition. The staff were good. It'a dimly lit, even during the day, for those with sight issues.
