Yum yummy yum. These empanadas are so delicious we made a special stop on our road trip ! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service Served up with a smile in a cute little cafe style spot - I definitely recommend trying the GAUCHO![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yum. All of them were delicious !

    Let's eat!

My husband and I were brainstorming what we should have for lunch. We were going to be all over town so we had a few options. I threw out Tango's since the hair supply house is right across the street. My husband has been here a few times and this would be my first. He has his regular empanada that he normally gets. It took me a minute to go over their broad menu. After breezing through the menu, I got the chili carne. I added sour cream and jalapenos to that bad boy. We got a total of 4 empanada. Chili carne, cheeseburger, peaches and apple. Grabbing the tray from the counter, you can feel the heat coming off the food! It was so hot! We worked on the fries first. I knew the middle of the empanada was going to be liquid fire so we gave it a minute before we bit into them. The fries were basic crinkle cut. You can't really mess them up. My husband's cheeseburger was demolished. He enjoyed it very much. My chili empanada was good. It's very messy to eat! I ended up having to use utensils to eat it so I didn't get chili everywhere. There was a good amount of sour cream and the jalapenos were spicy. The dessert empanadas were good. We added caramel to the apple empanada. It's a good combination but the caramel was overwhelming. Next time we will ask for more apple to caramel. The peach empanada was lacking a little flavor. The fact that it was coated in powdered sugar helped but more peach flavoring would have been nice. Overall, it was a good food stop at Tango's. This place is not the fanciest but it pushes out good food. Service was ok depending on who helped you. But if you come for the food and not the service than you should have a decent experience.

    Gaucho empanada combo

The food looked great, however, my first bite into the Gaucho empanada was such a disappointment...the ground beef had no flavor whatsoever. I was expecting a flavorful, bursting with spices empanada, but was sorely disappointed with the meat (needed a whole lot more help than salt and pepper. I'm surprised at all the great reviews for their empanadas which is why I stopped by....not sure I would recommend this place if you're looking for an amazing tasting empanada.

Thank you so much for the lunch today at the airport. Your kindness to feed workers not receiving a paycheck was very generous. I had the BBQ empanada and the cheese empanada. The dough was hot and crisp and delicious. The filling was perfect for someone with plain Jane taste buds. You are appreciated.

This little mom and pop place has incredible Argentinian style empanadas. The rancho was my favorite!!

Argentina-styled empanadas: Gaucho and chimicarne empanadas
    Aldo M.

Argentina-styled empanadas. I ordered the Gaucho and chimicarne empanadas. The Gaucho one is definitely the better tasting one. Not bad but I had better empanadas. These ones are deep fried, not baked. But there were No limes available to squeeze. Service is okay but the staff did not know the WiFi password. Don't expect to be waited on. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fair ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You order at the register and sit down at any table, just like any fast food restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was worth trying but I am not amazed.

These are probably the best empanadas I've had in awhile! The empanadas are fresh, flaky and big. My bf and I halved each empanada and ordering 6 was good for us. We ordered the Gaucho, Cheeseburger, Breakfast, Chimicarne, Coco and Brazilian. The Gaucho was the best in my opinion. The dessert empanadas were good too because they weren't overly sweet. The staff was also really nice when we were ordering but as we were leaving one of the staff was staring at me, looked away and shook her head??? I dont know what I did but I am going to believe positive intent. It wasn't a nice feeling leaving the restaurant after that happened and really enjoying our food, but its okay. Overall, we were there for the empanadas! Love the consistency of filling to bread ratio. Empanadas Ive had typically have more bread, so these empanadas were a nice change of pace. The Gaucho probably had the most filling inside compared to the other savory empanadas we got, second most would be the Chimicarne. There is also a parking lot so it wasnt hard finding parking.

We've been coming here for years! It's a little far from us but worth the drive. The food is always hot and fresh and delicious. The prices have gone up very slightly in the last 2 decades - you can have a savory and a sweet for under $10!!! It's not fast food, it tastes homemade and worth the short

Food. I assumed that the empanadas where made previously and cooked when ordered. They are not, as I requested a "custom" order. Got the Chimicurri with cheese added. It was wonderful. But as all of the empanadas, they are hot! Service was great. No issues Ambiance isn't overly Latin American, I kind of wish it was a little more Latin.

We found this place by accident, we were down the street at the Tesla charger. The food was incredible, great service. This place is a must for sure!

Oh my God! 5/5 all the way!!!!! I ordered 6 of these absolutely amazing, heavily pastries and it was not enough to fulfill my hunger because they were so good. My first impression was that I couldn't believe damn big that menu is. Seriously. You're gonna have a fun time if you didn't study beforehand because I did and I was still floored over how indecisive I was! After staring at the menu for what seemed like forever I finally picked two beef empanadas ($3.75-$4.00), Gaucho (Argentina original. Ground beef, eggs, olives, onions, bell peppers and spices) and Saltena (from Salta, Argentina. Ground beef, onion, eggs and potatoes). Of the two, the Gaucho was the one for me. It was full of flavor, super stuffed and piping hot! Saltena is great as well, tasted like taco seasoning but authentic. From the chicken menu I picked the Gardel (chicken in light marinara sauce, $3.75). Super good! The chicken was tender and juicy. Whatever spices were thrown in there created a fantastic taste. For our pork option, I chose the Rancho (house made refried beans, in-house Mexican chorizo, cheddar cheese and jalapenos, $3.75). Whew, this was a spicy one. They don't tread lightly on the jalapenos, FYI. This empanada was exquisite, my favorite out off all the savory choices. Of course, I couldn't dare skip out on the dessert empanadas. The Chocolate (dulce de leche, creame cheese and chocolate chips) and La Nona (dulce de leche and bananas) are out of this damn world!!! Extremely sweet, I've been dreaming about these since I tried them. Tango's is such a blessing to Boise! I cannot wait to go back so so soon!!

We were enjoying our food and drinks so much I forgot to take photos of our entrees until about halfway through. Food: 4/5 Everything was pretty good, but only a few things were really great. My first sangria was just ok, but the second one was delicious (maybe my taste buds just needed to warm up to it?). The Bacalaitos in the appetizer sampler was my favorite part of the appetizer. The sauces that came with the sampler were also pretty good. The guava and cream cheese Pasetillos were also a favorite that just melted in my mouth. The entrees were both good, but nothing that I can't wait to try again. The pina colada cheesecake is another story... I have been craving that ever since we ate it. I think in the future I would get a variety of pastelillos for a meal. Service: 5/5 The service here was outstanding and very impressive! We arrived a little after 5pm on a Thursday to a nice gentleman that greeted us. Our waitress was extremely helpful with recommendations and our drinks and food came out promptly. Atmosphere: 4.5/5 Great, welcoming atmosphere. We can't wait to go back when it gets warmer and either sit on the patio or the rooftop. I will say the location is interesting and kind of off the beaten path, which isn't a bad thing. Kid friendly: 3/5 We didn't take our little one this time, but there were some kids there. I didn't notice a kids menu and don't know that I would recommend taking kids here.

I have visited this food truck several times but only purchased food once. The Tri-Tip Bowl, which is the item I want to try, is always sold out. In addition to the regular menu, they always have a few specials. These photos are from my visit on 10/31/20. Here is what I ordered: Choripan ($7) - This is a traditional sandwich with homemade chorizo sausage. I got the El Gaucho, which comes with lettuce and tomato. It is on homemade bread. While I enjoyed the homemade chorizo, which is completely different than Mexican or Basque chorizo, there was simply too much bread for me. This is a huge sandwich that can satisfy two. Empanadas ($2.50) - These are available in beef, chicken and veggie. I got one of each. I liked them all, but preferred the beef. They come with a side of chimichurri sauce. Alfajor ($1.50) - This is a traditional sandwich cookie filled with dulce de leeches, a creamy caramel confection made from milk and sugar. Caramel isn't my favorite, but anyone who enjoys it would like this. Flan Evita ($4.50) - This is basically Chocoflan, which is a combination of chocolate cake on the bottom with flan on top. Mine was a bit overcooked, but delicious!

Arriving in Boise after an hours-long delay and the only place near the hotel open for hungry…read moretravelers is a place with a food truck, drastic measures needed to be taken to find some great grub for *hangry* travelers. Barbacoa is your place to go for a half entertainment and half great food overlooking the (Parkcenter) Pond for a great time and a great meal - (or not, there is a rooftop bar called Luna where one can imbibe if food is not your jam). This is a second trip to Barbacoa. This trip was perfect as hunger was involved AND a late reservation was needed. Barbacoa really books up, but we were in luck, snagging one of the last reservations on a Friday night! We had a lovely waitress and clean-up guy . Lighter appetites can get by on an appetizer (such as Stuffed Poblano Chile with its namesake Barbacoa Beef). We shared the Calamari Fritti with four different sauces which was lovely in presentation and delish! Saved for next time - they make guacomole table-side! Looks so entertaining and yummy! This review reports that surf and turf were enjoyed! One diner had the Baked Salmon, which was promptly eaten (so it must have been good) and yours truly had the special *American Waygu Ribeye Steak*. Not a staple on the menu, but a GREAT meal, especially if ribeye is a favorite cut! Pro Tip: If there is enough room for dessert, tell them you are here for a special occassion and they produce a cotton candy concoction that is sure to please! They were flying out of the kitchen on this late June Friday night visit. Hang on to your wallet! Not gonna lie, this is a pretty pricey meal, but if in the Boise area, this is a must! There is something for everyone and combined with the entertainment and low state tax ;), worth the trip! We all left happy and full and forgot all about the delayed flight! Another Pro-Tip: Oh and for those with a sense of humor, (or not), there is a small keyhole in the men's bathroom that appears to look directly into the women's room. I don't think they see anything serious, but it is cheeky for sure - ladies, make sure you are fully clothed before walking out! This will be on our regular rotation on future trips to Idaho!

The atmosphere is stunning with incredible artwork, a massive wine wall, and over the top decor that makes it feel like an experience rather than just dinner. The tableside guacamole was absolutely phenomenal and was the highlight of the meal. We also ordered the grilled octopus, carne asada, Hot Rock Filet, and the coulotte steak with Cajun shrimp. The Hot Rock Filet was a fun presentation and cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, the coulotte steak was much chewier than expected, although the staff handled it well and removed it from our bill without any hassle. The carne asada itself was good, but the rice wasn't very appealing. The service was friendly but felt a bit chaotic throughout the meal, and the restaurant was noticeably smoky inside, which took away from the experience. Barbacoa is worth visiting at least once for the atmosphere alone, but considering the premium prices, I expected a more polished dining experience.
