Banana

Tried to charge me 20 bucks for a side of plantains and when I spoke up, they knocked it down for $10 which a side of plantains usually comes with a $15 meal and then shorted me four dollars change so we'll never go there again 36$ for three flavorless, tacos and a banana, ??and don't recommend anybody else going there and this is my very firstyelp, but I was inspired

We ordered to go and called in to place our order. They were very polite and our food was done really fast. The steak tacos were good but a little dry like they had been cooked earlier in the day and were sitting in a warmer. The al pastor tacos were better but still dry. The salsa they provided was really good. It was actually spicy yet had a lot of flavor. We also ordered sopes and it was delish! The beans were my favorite part and they included a red salsa and some sour cream. Overall a really good place to order and I felt like the prices were good for the amount of food. I'd like to eat in person next time I go!

Delicious and authentic! We had the sopes and pastelitos. Very good, super fresh, and perfect. The staff are kind and helpful, it feels like you're somewhere south. Good music when you head to the bathrooms.

Best jerk chicken I've ever had, friendly service, authentic, great selection of menu itemsread more

Owner/Operator Travis graciously accommodated my request to put together a plate that had a little bit of everything on it. I got two large boxes of food for $32.33 that included the following: Jerk Chicken Breast Jerk Shrimp Oxtail and Butter Beans Coconut Curry Chicken Coconut Curry Shrimp Beef Pattie Cucumber Salad Rice & Peas The Jerk Chicken and Shrimp comes with a jerk sauce and a habanero sauce. I have had Jamaican style oxtail once before. Of all the meats, the oxtail was my favorite. The only downside with oxtail in general is that the meat to bone ratio is low. The meat was caramelized, tender and very flavorful. Of the sides, the cucumber salad was my favorite. This cucumber salad was different than any I've had before. It had a slightly sweet flavor. I could happily eat a large bowl of it. The Beef Pattie was my least favorite. Though it was described as spicy, it didn't seem spicy at all to me. It seemed mildly seasoned and nondescript. Like and follow Ya Mon Jamaican Jerk Grill's FB page to track when it's open, as well as location and hours.

The guy refused to sell me the meat and avocado salad at the farmers market unless he could put the rice & beans in with meat. You may not find a more friendly owner of food stand than you will in Noel Argote-Herrera, Cuban…read moreborn and Miami and LA raised, who owns the Cuban food stand named after his mother from whom he learned to cook and whose memory inspires his cooking. On most, or maybe all, Saturdays during the Boise Farmers Market (BFM) season you will find him in the parking lot there. He is also sometimes at a local cigar and wine bar (although I have this information second hand since I never think of food and cigars together). For a while, maybe in 2020 - 2021'ish time frame he sometimes set up in a neighborhood...maybe he still does and I no longer get the info. He is also sometimes set up at events like local brewfests. And if there is music in the mix, you may find Noel sharing his joy in dancing to the beat. My husband and I are big fans of Cuban food and have enjoyed Noel's dishes that we've had as take away from his BFM stand on occasional Saturdays starting in 2021. Typically he'll have a rice dish and Cuban beans (both vegan), maybe plantains, and an animal protein option like ropa vieja (beef) or lechon (pork). His flan and pastelitos (guava marmalade he makes himself filled pastries) are legendary. And his tasty food is made more delicious through his charming personality. PS - If you're looking for great Cuban food in a sit down, full service restaurant owned by a Cuban family who found their way to Boise from Cuba via Miami, try Casa Blanca. https://www.yelp.com/biz/casablanca-cuban-grill-boise-3
