One of the baseball fields and soccer net area...
    MsMichele P.

4 stars for the location (1/2 a block from my friends house AND it's hidden so it's never over populated), it's clean, has a long walking path and there are always lots of doggy poopy bags at the dog stations as well as a dog park located in the back. Minus one star for the dog park not having a separate area for small dogs. My little wiener dog is psycho and hates big dogs so we don't use the dog park but it's all koo since there's plenty of path to trot on with the pooch for exercise. There are also basketball courts, a playground, tennis courts and 2 baseball fields. I've never seen anybody playing baseball but people use the fields for soccer shtuff alllll the time. Definitely my go to place with the doggity doggers when I'm visiting my homie in south bay.

Several of these signs are posted around the park

Overall, It can be better. I have three (3) "pet peeves" though... 1: I wonder if park rangers ever show up here, I rarely see them enforcing rules. Seems only they show up occasionally when the reserved areas are filled to capacity with the reservation group at hand and are in use properly, but otherwise they are not around. 2: Apparently several "regular users" (or entitled) dog owners have "missed seeing the posted signs" about dog's off leash. If you are able to "walk" your dog to this park YOU CAN EASILY WALK TO THE FENCED DOG PARK - IT'S NOT THAT DIFFICULT, OR JUST PURE LAZINESS ON THEIR PART, or selfishly wanting an open area for you and your dog and not wanting to share? AGAIN READ THE "DOG'S MUST ON LEASH SIGNS POSTED!!!" More and more OFF LEASH use is becoming more prevalent at the north end of the park. Now days I can identify 5 "regular" who lets their dogs go off leash daily and clearly ignoring the "must leash dog's signs" wow........... SMCC Section 3330.5(a) There is only one sign on the very north east side along the fence line that says "Dogs must be on leash" (clearly seen, yet despite several people still walking on this pathway and dirt area where this sign is posted and is ignored - they must not know how to read anyways - boo hoo). There are even signs located at the walkway entrances (1 @ the end of El Parque Ct, and 1 @ the pathway south east side - AND both signs has a picture of a dog with a leash along with several other rules - wha, even a picture can't tell them the rules??? Shows how much our public education is working.....oy!) AND there are signs indicating (with pictures also) NO ANIMALS ON THE ARTIFICIAL TURF AREAS, yet some owners let their dogs have at it on the soccer field with no games/practices are not present. Some of these regular "entitled" dog owners won't pick up after the dog after they do their "business" - c'mon, there are children playing soccer and a children's park nearby on a regular basis, I guess they don't care of the health of children. SMCC Section 8.04.040(a),(b),(c) 2: Smokers: There are some regulars who smokes inside the park - one in particular - and does the tripple whammy! He walks his dog off leash in the mid morinings, doesn't pick up after his dog, and smokes whatever he's smoking. He even walked near a CLEARLY POSTED SIGN OF DOG'S MUST BE LEASHED AND NO SMOKING and daily ignoring it. wow! He's been doing this since 2012! Entitlement at it's best - poster child! Also, some would park at either the two parking lots (more so the east side) and smoke "whatever" they please and it stinks up the area, and the odor ends up over the neighboring houses - the good folks who live here. 3: Parking "crashed" or non-operating beater cars on the west side parking lot of this park? Hey people - Use your own garage OR San Francisco is north of us, they will take in any junk (quite literally) and you can place it FREELY wherever and whenever you want including in front of decent family homes AND they rarely enforce the issue. SF tax dollars at work eh! This ain't trashy San Francisco and it WON'T BECOME ONE! If the city public works can place and re-arrange signs to ensure smokers and off leash dog owners are able read them right in front of their eyes. Also if park rangers can come by more often to enforce the park rules and maybe meet us citizens there to give them our input on the spot, then maybe - just maybe this park would be a bit happier/safer/cleaner park that it is meant to be.

There's also a really nice trail and some cool art sculptures and interactive art pieces at the top of the hill if you walk all the way up. This particular day my dogs were tired and didn't want to walk all the way up so we just walked around the park for 30 minutes and got to play with dogs And then we left.

I try to get Little Sweets out of the house once in a while to see new things. My aunt still has his sister and he can get lonely - he copes by playing video games in his bedroom and he can't stand my spoiled cat MrMoose with his demanding SCREAMmeows all day. Its time to get him out of the house. Let him sniff something. Lots of dogs here for him to sniff. They can do some sniff swapping or flea swapping or whatever they do - I don't mind - he is on some good flea control stuff. The fenced area is safe for roaming and decorated in small metal dog shapes. Near is the waterway. It is pleasant. This city has more waterways than I ever knew existed. From a look on the map all manmade. There is a larger park nearby too. All of this is under larger power lines. I think that is good use of land space. Not much more could go under here.... but my friend Johnny would tell you not to spend too much time here because of EMF or something or another.

Love that it is partially turfed up so that the dogs can play without getting too dirty. Alot of dog owners are very courteous about rinsing the area with the designated water spout for when their dog poops or pees on the turf. Good amount of benches, but not enough coverage around the park since the sun can get pretty strong in Foster City.

So I went for a walk and visited the park. It's pretty easy to drive pass the entrance. The walk-in path is at Kehoe Ave & Kelly St. There's also a driveway leading to a common parking lot with Bayside Academy. It's not clearly marked, and it looks like you're driving into a school campus. So, I parked on the street. Based on the photos someone posted 12 yrs ago, this park hasn't changed much. It's looks fairly well maintained, and pretty clean of litter and dog turds. It has a cool walking path that goes by the Mariner's Lagoon. This community park is a nice place to rest, exercise, walk your dog, or just take a break from urban life. Located at 2111 Kehoe Ave, in the City of San Mateo.
