    Tostitos Preparados
    Laura F.

I had a mangonada and Tostitos Preparados and they were both delicious. The mangonada came with fresh mango, a tamarindo straw, and chamoy. The Tostitos can be customized to your liking. I added cueritos, jalapeños, nacho cheese, and white corn. For authentic Mexican snacks definitely stop by.

    Raspas appreciation

Just witnessed a woman order "the usual" and proceed to spend $60 on four trays of mangonadas, if that isn't a testament to the tasty treats offered, I don't know what is. My go-to order is either the fruit cup with cucumber and jicama and a limonada or a cup of lime and strawberry shave ice. The shave ice is absolutely fantastic and perfect for the summer months ahead. I'm not a fan of the standard raspa but (as I pointed out in a tip) instead of crushed ice with various syrups added, theirs is frozen fruit ground superfine with ice for an extra fruity frozen treat. There's nothing especially fancy about Regios, it's a small hole in the wall with cramped parking but everything offered is as fresh as it gets, the prices are great, and the employees are kind. It gets pretty packed in the weekends but it is super worth the wait.

These munchies are big in my hometown and I can't help but crave the real thing. For me to say it's legit, you know it's real. It is rare to find a place with actual corn and not the canned thing, ask for the white corn. Idk what they call the Tostitos with everything, but i know them as a "Marranada" and they sure will make you feel like one. I also always go for their "sandiada" without the chunks, I like that it's not just ice with syrup.

Just what I needed on a hot day! The gentleman there was very nice. The inside has a few picnic tables to sit on if you want to stay and enjoy your snack. Definitely a hole in the wall, but those are usually the best places.

    Corn in a Cup

The customer service is great here, the guy explained to me items on the menu that I wasn't familiar with. I had the corn in a cup, not a fan, but I did LOVE the watermelon fruit drink and will definitely be back to try other things!

Fresas con crema aka strawberries with cream

A small shop located in a small strip of shops. It is one of those local shops that is a bit off the radar and mainly known by locals. I found it not through Yelp but waiting for me food from another place located in the same strip mall. Since it was going to take about 30 minutes for my food to be prepared I decided to check this place out. It is a small establishment with a few tables inside if you want to sit and eat but most people seem to do a grab and go. I was going with a mangonada but after seeing a few people go with the fresos y crema I decided to go with that instead. When it gets full it can get a bit slow especially with particular orders. It seemed like it was the fresos y crema day as the employees were whipping them up as fast as they can. Still with only three people working the orders came out in a respectable time. Although it is a simple selection of strawberries and cream it was good at a very respectable price. There are plenty of other selections to choose from as you will see from the items that are pictured on the wall. A friendly little spot to check out if you are in the area. I will warn you that parking can be a challenge but there is some street parking near the auto dealership next door.

What a hidden gem! The fruit is always fresh, the portions are well worth the price and the service is excellent.

Best mangonadas I've ever had in my life. The elotes is not bad, but not fuel city. While you're there get some wings at Wayne's.

This shop sells fudge, truffles, candied apples, and - what I came for - ice cream! They had a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from, a least a couple dozen. The smiling young woman working behind the ice cream counter offered to give tastes, but I had already figured out which flavors I wanted. I chose two scoops in a cup, one of Cappucino Chip and the other Turtle Cheesecake. They have several tables to sit at, some along a hallway and more in a back room. I took a seat and was in awe of the huge scoops given. The Cappuccino Chip had a mild flavor (I prefer it stronger) but a fair number of tiny chocolate chips. The Turtle Cheesecake had an excellent cheesecake flavor with swirls of caramel, praline pecans, and caramel-filled mini turtles. I'm usually not fond of nuts in my ice cream but I actually enjoyed the pralines. In my humble opinion, there were too few turtles. But I still loved it. If you're in the mood for a cold, creamy treat while visiting the Alamo, you'll find this to be the perfect place to visit.

I was responsible and only ordered two things-- the dark chocolate sea salt twist and dark tonga shortbread. Customer service was superb from Jonathan. He was friendly, personable, and does his job well. I was excited to try these two treats, but unfortunately, I did not enjoy them. There was a strong cardboard aftertaste and I just couldn't get over it. I was fine with the one bite. Disappointing because I spent $10, but hoping this was a one off. If I'm in San Antonio, Texas again I may give them another try.

The real issue came at the cash register. The woman handling payments was, unfortunately, not kind at all. In fact, "rude" would be the most generous description. It actually took my wife about ten minutes just to complete the payment for a couple of ice creams, which felt longer than the ice cream itself took to melt. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching how she interacted with other employees. It wasn't just unprofessional--it was the kind of scene you'd expect in a low-budget psychological thriller where you start wondering if someone should call for backup. So while the ice cream itself and the front-line staff were great, the overall experience was overshadowed by the atmosphere at the register. Small, crowded, and unkind is not a combination that brings us back. We'll pass next time.
