We were in the mood for hoodrat snacks and ohhhhh did we find them! This place is epic! The snacks are creative and the portions are quality and huge. The girls behind the counter offer excellent service and make everything in front of you. There are some chairs to sit at but no tables which wasn't a big deal for us. The place is very clean as well. I got a banana split with the 3 ice cream flavors of my choice and it was amazing. We got an order of nachos, corn in a cup and a white coconut raspa as well. Really wanted to like this place since it's so close by and we had seen about it on Nextdoor and on Instagram.Sadly we do not plan on going back after today though.. When first learning of this place I was really excited to spend my money here in support of a budding young entrepreneurs endeavor regardless of it being extremely expensive compared to other local places that I have had better paletas that are more than just snap worthy and taste as exceptional as they look.Our selections were something like $50+ dollars for 3 ice creams on our first visit and he left a WAY generous $20 tip upon my instruction because I was so impressed by the ambitious and inviting signal the owner put out there on Nextdoor. I also tip well because I like to make sure that working class folks get their fair share of a little wealth redistribution (just in case) they are facing any kind of work exploitation and being paid poverty wages. (not uncommon in Texas small business) Not insinuating that's the case here because I couldn't tell you.Just saying generally. Regardless low morale or whatever is going on here it is never a good time that to lose integrity when working front of house in a food establishment.Its supposed to be a happy place not a a unwelcoming,gatekeepish vibe so hopefully that will change so they can thrive and move past this dark phase and I wish them strength to achieve that in these hard times...Sincerely. The two little misses that we're running the place this evening when we got there it saw us coming and ran to the back.We we're hoping so that they could get their mask but nope.Only one girl came back looking VERY annoyed,placed her gloveless hand on the serving counter,kicked out her hip and was like "Can I help you?" leaning into the counter like a bartender that has had enough of serving drunks all night. Considering we are in the midst of a global pandemic it was a little unnerving to see that no thought was given to wearing a mask at all serving cold food that really folks should be wearing a mask around regardless of being in a pandemic or not and considering the music was indeed as the other Yelper described very loud. (Not that I mind the music) and you have to shout over the music and your not wearing a mask well....Yeah no. Particulates fly far. Everything considered I consulted with my company and decided to bounce. Told her "we're good,thanks" and left. Definitely a let down and considering their perfect health score I would have thought they would be a bit more mask conscious and considerate of others.They are in a high traffic area right next to a high school so it's pretty off putting to see that kind of apathy. I know folks are "tired" of it but it's a minor inconvenience to simply wear a mask in a food industry that serves mostly cold food. I'm self employed and don't get paid time off or sick leave. I wasn't up for the possibility of catching Covid so close to going on vacation and who needs the time off in quarantine even if I got a minor case.It is simply not worth it to me at all. Have lots of friends in small business and let me tell you having lots of followers on Insta ain't all that matters and some of us "followers" are actually real people and in person a little customer service goes a long way as well humble pie.Best of luck. read more

If you are craving a delightful fruitful treat as a snack, you must give Ice Ice Baby a chance to show you their creative menu. They have so many options and I've tried a few but I'm a huge fan of mangonadas and they have an amazing mango Italian ice that will not disappoint you. I've also tried it mixed with the cucumber Italian ice and it's a perfect combination. If you feel like the Chamoy and Lucas isn't already enough for you, add the chamoy Italian ice or any of the other 8-10 flavors! My friend had an original vanilla ice cream and mango Italian ice with cream on top creation that she loved as well. The ice cream is all blue bell and with 10-12 flavors you are sure to find one you like. My mom tried the banana split and loved it. My daughter has something with strawberry and cocunut, all I can say is she devoured it. I've also had the cucumberdilly and it was a surprise but the pickles and cucumber in it were great. I only have pictures of one mangonada because we rarely pause to stop for a picture before we dive in to our sweet treats. I've also tried the corn in a cup and appreciate that they ask if you want mild or extra spicy. As always, I enjoyed it as well! I've been any 4 times now and Everything has been fantastic plus the prices are incredibly reasonable for all the fruit and generous servings. The one in the picture is a "tiny" and I think it's $4. They also have snow cones and an assortment of toppings for all their options. My wait time for service has never been longer than 5 minutes and the staff are always very kind. Trust me, try this place and you will not be disappointed. Note to owner: On only one visit, the music was a bit loud and for a family friendly environment. So we saw an add of Facebook about "Ice Ice baby" and decided to make the 15 minute drive for a "snack". Upon walking in the music was so loud. Staff not friendly or familiar with what we wanted. We had to find the picture of what we saw on Facebook and I was disappointed. LOL! The music was SO LOUD they could not hear us. Finally someone turned down the music, but by then I was ready to GO! Anyways it was ok, not impressed, and definitely lots of places to choose from. And we should probably be better with people and our menu. First time visiting this place and was very happy with the selections. The ice cream was delicious (Mocha Almond Chocolate and Salted Caramel Brownie). We also tried the Mango/Fresa Mix which has Mango and strawberry frozen ice with slices of strawberries and mangoes on top with a red tangy sauce mixed in. The cashier was very friendly and knowledgeable about the products. He let my wife try several different flavors and did it with a smile. When we got there we were only customers so it was quiet.
