This is one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area. The menu is typical of a standard Mexican place but with a little better quality food. We've eaten here a number of times and haven't gotten one of those "Keep it warm until someone buys it" type of plates. They have a bar area and frequently have live entertainment. Very average Mexican food that is typical in the area and people think is great. This place just opened up the other month and is owned by the original owners of El Rio and tastes about the same. They aren't serving alcohol yet, I'm guessing they don't have their liquor license. The food was alright, nothing special and quite bland. After lots of salt and salsa over top of my lunch, it tasted much better. They bring a lot of salsa to the table for you to pour into small bowls. Like a very large maple syrup dispenser full of salsa, we went through at least half of it during lunch. Service is good and the prices are very reasonable for lunch. Somewhere between 2 and 3 stars, but nothing special. read more

We go here at least 1 time a month. Service is ok. They are so busy you get forgotten about sometimes. My order has "gotten lost" several times. I have also gotten food that was not cooked all the way thru (carnitas). Very chilly inside due to setup of doors. Although they have added new doorway it still a little cold (Have to wear coat the whole time I'm there.) But drinks are great, food is good usually, and waiters are nice. Have to wait to be seated due to they are soo busy, sometimes up to 30 mins. on a Sat. Will continue to go, but will go to their old place el rio more than here. El rio is always happy to see you and the food and drinks are exactly the same, wait no longer than 10 mins. El Rio has $1 beers to0 and $1 margaritas. read more

This place never disappoints. Food is generous helpings,hot and fresh. The staff is pretty fast and friendly. This place can get crowded and the servers keep up pretty well. The menu is pretty big and drinks are excellent too. When it's crowded we enjoy the takeout option and the fajitas for two is one of our favorites. read more

They put this big container of salsa down on your table when they bring chips...score! I can't say their food is necessarily better than similar style Mexican restaurants but the service is generally quick. Chips are good sometimes...bad others. For what you pay though, you get a good amount of food and taking that into consideration is why I rate it 4 stars. read more

Not sure how this restaurant was voted best of Forsyth. Ordered Texas Fajitas for two with steak cooked medium rare. The waiter said no problem we can do that. The steak was cooked well done and dry. The portion size was plentiful. The cast iron skillet was not sizzling. The Texas margaritas were not the best but tolerable. Food and drink prices were great, however when you can't eat or drink what is being delivered to your table. I consider that a waste of money. The waiter was very nice but not helpful. The kitchen manager and restaurant manager were useless. Neither offered to correct the situation. The restaurant manager did inform me that they are the best in Forsyth with the best prices for the quantity of food received. This place is not the best in Forsyth. I would suggest the Hacienda located down the road from them. read more

This is our Go To Mexican place in Cumming, GA. We've tried most of the other Mexican places in the area and this is the best...although I wouldn't have said that just by judging from the outward appearance. The food is wonderful every time and the prices are really great too. We usually get our meals, a coke and margarita for around $20 bucks. The service is really fast too. 99% of the times we have been there, we had our meals on the table within about 5 minutes after ordering. This will definitely continue to be a staple for us for a busy night when cooking is not an option. read more

About a month ago we were looking for a new Mexican restaurant to try out. I came across this one online and saw the great Yelp reviews so we decided to give it a try. We hesitated a bit when we pulled into Tri-County Plaza, not exactly what we expected. But there was a line out the door so we figured between the line and the good reviews we should at least give it a try. We put our name on the list and expected a long wait since there were so many people there but we were seated fairly quickly. As someone who loves salsa, I was happy to see they brought a pitcher of it to the table with the chips. The salsa had lots of flavor and just the right amount of spice. We ordered fried burritos and chimichangas to split. I thought a chimichanga was basically a fried burrito but these 2 dishes definitely had different flavors. Both were delicious. Same great food / service the 2nd time. We'll definitely go back. read more

Had eaten at the old El Rio for years and loved it. However, since the change in management and staff, it has slipped a bit. The new Los Rios is really good. Cesear and some of the original staff have opened this new location. I was home 2 weeks ago and ate at the old El Rio once and the new Los Rios twice. Los Rios is good mexican food. True, it is American Mex, but good none the less. Cesear's wife and daughters hand make the tamales and tortillas from scratch! The menu is the basic menu you find at any mexican restaurant, with a few new surprises. You can get lunch specials everyday, not just Monday - Friday. If you like margaritas, you can't go wrong with the Texas Margarita! The decor is fresh and bright and clean. Prices are reasonable and a little less than the old place. Not the best mexican in the world (that is found in Texas), but very good. Worth the trip. I live in Maine and REAL mexican food is not available and for that matter not many good restaurants. So whenever I'm home there a lit of required places to eat. Los Rios has now replaced El Rio on the list! read more

I visit this place at least once a week, usually more. I have never had anything bad as far as the food goes...every dish is wonderful and priced right. I had an issue with a pretty lackluster server once, but the management was quick to make it right. Normally the service is great and very fast. Ok first time here, but made a good impression. Server was there after we sat down and took our drink ordered. Stepped away for minute and brought our drinks followed quickly by a basket of warm tortilla chips and a pitcher of salsa. The salsa was different then most it looked almost like ketchup, but had a very nice flavor. Server returned to take our orders, one son had Chimichangas and the other had some combo platter. I ordered the Texas Fajitas for one. The server replaced our chips before our meals came, which came quickly and quite hot. Both boys enjoyed their meals very much. My fajitas was more then I could eat and that has never happened to me in the past, my one complaint about them was there were not enough vegetables, if you can call that a complaint. I give it 4 enchiladas because I had the Enchiladas Supremo for lunch, 1 chik, 1 beef, 1 bean, 1 chez.no beans/rice, $8 plus drink and tip, $12 total. Good enchiladas, but not great, had this weird "tan" corn syrup sauce on it, The chips were light and fresh and they bring a big carafe' of salsa, Service was fast and friendly. Lots of TVs but the decor is "dingy brown". Bathrooms are clean. It's located at the other end of the Publix shopping center near the car wash and Golds Gym. Great Margaritas. Great Chicken Nachos. Great Family Fajitas. This restaurant has great value food for the money spent. They give you margaritas for about $6 that will get you more than buzzed off of one. Pure authentic stuff right there and fair. The queso dip is amazing. And the portions for most meals are too much. Especially the nachos and fajitas. You will most likely not eat all of a fajita order. The prices are very cheap and fair. Only reason this place isn't rated a 5 by me is because it is seriously lacking in the cleanliness department. The entire place needs a thorough cleaning, but the fun times spent there eating and drinking make up for it. I've never had a bad experience there. read more
