I really like this place. I live in Albany and it's my normal stop when I'm in the mood for mexican food. As one other reviewer said, the pollo la crema is great. I just had that today. Also the pollo la diablo is great too (see my picture). I've also had several of their burritos and they were also good. Wait staff is generally very nice. My friend had talked this spot up and so we came out for dinner. Having 3 of us, we mowed down the chips/salsa down pretty quick. No one stopped to offer more, eventually we waived someone down. When the food came out, the portions were disappointing. Compared to the other spots in town, it was like we ordered off the kid menu. My entree was probably an unfortunate choice, but the food seems average Americanized Mexican. The chips come out warm and crisp, with refritos cooked drier than usual (like) and garnished with tomatos, etc. The pico de gallo is high-solids. It has a slight off taste which I think is due to cilantro; cilantro often imparts a soapy taste which even many Mexicans do not like. Draft Mexican beer was fairly priced and servers were very civil and attentive. The Mexican Muzak was obtrusive. So far my go-to joints remain La Roca and Tacos el Machin, with no second runners even close. read more

This place offers your standard Mexican fair the exception is that it's well prepared and tastes good. It actually has distinguishing flavors amongst its dishes. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. My only complaint is that they don't have homemade tortillas either corn of flour they were identical to store bought. Went to dinner tonight here. First time for my boyfriend and third time for me. Other times here have been pretty good. Ordered the chicken burritos appetizer that I love and my boyfriend ordered the steak fajitas. I also ordered a kiwi margarita on the rocks. When my margarita came out it was a regular margarita blended. I was a little irritated, but I'm not one to send anything back because I don't want anyone messing with it. A solid choice for Mexican food in Albany (at last!) They are different from most places in Oregon, in that they are more of a restaurant, with not just burritos, tacos and the likes...but meat and seafood dishes! It's also more expensive than your regular Mexican restaurant in the US, but quantity and variety make up for it for sure. The decor is a little cheesy, but the service is nice and quick, and they have a large drink menu too, with giant margaritas! I had the chuletas de puerco (pork chops) with mushrooms&onions, and they were delicious even if a little dry, and the wife had the seafood tacos and loved them too Looks like we finally found a Mexican place to go back to! read more

A friend and I stopped into Los Tequilas for dinner a few nights ago after checking into a local hotel.We were EXHAUSTED from driving to Portland and were getting VERY hungry and tired on our way back home, so Albany was the nites stop over. I will say the food did not blow my mind, BUT it was really good and the atmosphere and service was GREAT. I had the seafood chimichanga which was good and a good size, my friend who is from Mexico originally, had the steak and prawn dinner which he felt was EXCELLENT. Beans, rice salsa were good, not great. Tortilla chips very good. Now my 20oz. margarita was REALLY good and blended PERFECTLY. There were lots of dishes to select from and pictures on the menu too. I definitely ate all my food and road weary travelers like us finding this wonderful establishment, WOW we were very happy we did. I will be back to try more on another trip. read more

Average food, horrible service, and hidden fees. We came here for lunch and drinks. I ordered a margarita, which tasted like a virgin drink. I had the manager bring me another shot, and it barely tasted like a margarita. When the bill came we found out that we had been charged a ton of hidden fees for things that are normally complimentary in any other restaurant. We were charged extra for ranch, extra salsa, soft drink refills, and tortillas for the fajitas. When we orders these things we were not informed at any point we would be charged extra. In addition the extra charges were not listed on the menu. When we questioned the staff about the charges they couldn't have cared less In addition the food was mediocre at best for all the trouble we went through. Rude wait staff, awful undercooked food. We put in our order and take our first few bites and were going to say something, but our server was no where to be found and we were hungry so ate the unside of the quesadilla anyways. When the server finally shows up again she asks us how everything was, so we were honest and told her that the quesadilla was undercooked and floppy. She told us we just didnt eat it fast enough (??... um ok..). Whatever maybe she's having a bad day, it happens. So I brushed it off and paid the check and walking out of the door, she chases down and aggressively accuses us of walking out on our bill (which we paid in cash with a 20% tip because we are too nice to this rude employee). Easily the best Mexican restaurant in the Corvallis/Albany area. The servers are very attentive and nice. The three times my wife and I have been there they've seated us quickly and had our drinks and chips out in no time. I usually get the carne asada burrito while my wife gets the Siete Mares soup. Both are absolutely delicious and taste fresh. The staff come through every now and then to ask how you're doing, but they never go overboard. Also, if you order the Gigante Margarita, be prepared. It may look as if it's only twice the size of the house margarita, but it's a good four times the size. Not that I'm complaining. :) read more

Here we found ourselves again in the lil town of Albany, Oregon. It was seems to be now our annual trek to Seattle. This time we planned on staying here and eating again at this place and last year I had the chile rellenos that were excellent. This year I decided to have the steak ranchero and it was beyond my expectations! I truly enjoyed my dinner, the only thing missing was homemade tortillas. The food and service has always been excellent here. This time we were moved around three times, the second time by choice and the third due to having us seated in the wrong place. Besides this minor hiccup, I will continue to eat here if we continue with our annual trek up north. My brother couldn't decide from the many yummy pictures and finally decided on the shrimp wrapped in bacon. He said they were the BEST tasting shrimp he had ever tried. And being that my brother is an extreme foodie, that opinion goes a long way. I'm allergic to shell fish... Lol. My SIS in law had the enchilada n tamale combo plate and we tasted the tamale and it had a lot to be desired for...but the enchilada was good. My sister had a beef and a cheese with onion enchilada combo and states that it was fantastic. I should stress that the rice n beans taste homemade and are very good. Honestly kind of dissapointed by this place. Saw it on maps with good reviews while passing through the area and figured we'd give it a try. They seem to follow all covid protocols which is good and were seated quickly. Ordered a skinny margarita and it was fantastic! The beans and salsa they give complimentary are also very good. The wait staff was very okay, couldn't answer any of our questions straightforward about the menu (we asked between some items which they preferred and they didn't answer on multiple occasions) and they weren't particularly attentive, but nice. I got the #14 a green chicken enchilada, tostada and taco combo and the enchilada was alright but the rest was straight up bad. Will probably not come back. read more

I have eaten here many times with family and friends over the years as the restaurant is in my neighborhood. The food, though better than Taco Bell, is average among local Mexican restaurants. Typically the service is good, but this time was an exception. A spoon was missing and requested, extra napkins were also requested, neither were brought until I asked for them again after the food was delivered. I ordered sour cream but it was not included. The cake we ordered was partially frozen. Myself, and the person I was with each ordered two tacos at $1.99 each. The waitress asked us if we wanted rice and bean with them, and I asked, "Do they came with the tacos,"and she said "yes," so we both said, "okay." We were surprised when we got the bill. We were billed for two taco platters, which we did not order. It was about twice the price of two tacos. I explained to the manager (or whoever he was), that we did not order taco platters, that we ordered taco's and the server asked me if I wanted rice and beans with them, and that I asked her if they came with the taco's, and she said, "yes." He did not care that his server made a mistake, and he insisted rather rudely that I have to pay for the two platters. I felt coerced into paying for the platters. read more

My family really likes this place. We go here when we are in Albany and want mexican food. We had dinner there again last night. The food is great. The service is top notch. They have one of the best Pollo La Crema around. They keep the water and chips full and check often. We have never had a messed up order and they are always careful to ask good questions to understand what we want. They have a tasty bean/pico dip for the chips as well as salsa. Service is a bit of a lost art in our society and it's great to see an occasional throwback. CLEANLINESS - The first time I visited this restaurant, I was a service worker there to fix a piece of equipment. I was shocked but just how clean the kitchen was. After seeing this place from the "back to the house," I had to try it! Years later, cleanliness is still top-notch, and I believe it always will be. QUALITY - With Mexican cuisine, most restaurants either nail it, or miss it terribly. most places either feel like Taco Bell, or the real deal from the moment I walk in. then the food comes, and I typically ridicule the shortcuts I can see in their food preparation. Not here, good stuff folks! They even offer some American favorites for my picky little 5 year old that he never turns down. COST - With my favorite, fajitas, steak and shrimp combo, at about $15, you're welcome the shop around, but this place is great in the bang for your buck department. Well worth the price in my humble opinion. ATMOSPHERE - This one's a bit more important to me, I find, than most. I need a place that is laid-back but kid friendly, informal but with the proper attitude. I don't want someone bouncing around my table while telling me the specials while trying to upsell me. Based on reviews from the Internet, this is supposed to be one of the better places for Mexican food in Albany, Oregon. While we were trying to decide on an order, we were asked to hurry up our food choices because the restaurant closed in five minutes. "No problem," we thought, "Kinda rushing us but polite enough." We're Portland folk, so maybe in other parts of Oregon, you should not show up to restaurants within a half hour of closing time. We chose our food, and my wife didn't get the drink she ordered. No problem, the waiter brought out a new drink fairly quickly. We started to bite into our food when one of the staff we didn't recognize said with deadpan face and tone: "Um, I'm sorry, you have to leave, we close at 9:30." A bit shocked, we sat for a moment, then my wife said: "While we're eating?" Delayed reaction, the busboy said it was a joke, asked if it was too harsh. We lied and said that the comment didn't offend us, then sat in sort of a shock moment. We lost all desire to stay. I went to the bathroom and walked out to see my wife confronting the staff for all the BS, then we paid our bill without finishing drinks or dinner, probably shouldn't have paid, whatever.
