Our dining experience was completely ruined by the manager, "Ruben" who had absolutely no regard for the mix up in our order.. I have never seen a manager handle such a situation with such poor attitude and not even an I'm sorry... We sat down to eat dinner and after the table next to us who was seated about 5 mins after us received their food I started asking where our waitress was and if someone could check on our order... Our waitress never reappeared after taking our order and still didn't come out even as the other ladies were trying to make sense of what happened.. Come to find out.. Our order had been put in as a to-go order and had been sitting up front.. I get that mistakes happen, but a simple acknowledgement from the manager and an I'm sorry could have fixed the issue.. But that is not what happened.. We paid for our food and took home cold soggy tacos. Regarding the food, I do not recommend the shredded beef.. It was over salted and chewy. **returned for one more try.. Had a much better experience, had a chance to meet the owner, Jorge, who had heard of our prior experience and was very apologetic.. I was in town for a week. And in the week we (group of 3) went 3 times two times to dinner and one for lunch at noon. All three times it was Great Service! The service here was slow. Several tables had to go to static measures to flag someone down to order food. One had given up and walked to the waitress. After eating here I'm still unsure who our server was. Everyone who served us seemed miserable, not characteristic of the fresh faced oregonians I have met while I was visiting. The atmosphere is fun and resembles a rain forest cafe on a shoestring budget. The tables are crowded, and only one person can walk between tables at a time, maybe that is why service is slow. The food was just ok. The tacos are better and cheaper at taco bell. I knew enough about Mexican food being from southern California to order the sopitos. Those are hard to mess up and were ok. For my family, their dishes looked too greasy and fried and lacking flavor. The cost for four combo plates and only water to drink cost it's 49 bucks. If I happen to find myself here again I will have to down the margaritas, I think most positive reviews were after a few tequila shots. read more

I am one of those people that loves to go out and eat food at different restaurants. Not having a lot of money for a fancy restaurant, I needed a place that is affordable, and has great quality food. Being a person who loves big proportions of food, this place was the right place to go to. You guessed it! Los Tequilas was the place to go. LOCATION Finding a place to go eat is always a struggle for me, but finding out a place called Los Tequilas was near by, I just had to go. Los Tequilas is in Albany, Oregon, right across the street from Fred Meyers. The placing of the store was a good place in my opinion because there are always lots of people driving by, so there are always "first timers" enjoying the food. It was also close by to where I live, so that was a bonus as well SERVICE For me, as soon as you walk in the store, depending on how many people are there, you get seated right away. You notice the smiling waiters or greeters sit you down upon arrival. Other than that they ask you what drinks you want and depending on how many people are there, you also get your order in like 5 - 10 minutes after arrival. ATMOSPHERE Upon arrival, you notice that the inside of the restaurant is pretty big, with many options of seating placements. Depending on where you sit, you can also notice that there are TV's for your enjoyment of watching some sports. In this case, I'll never leave because most of the times they have football games playing , or some weird and exciting Mexican show. Also, you notice the enjoyment of people eating and hanging out in the restaurant, so this was a good place to be. FOOD Waiting for food is the hardest part, but the bright side to that, when seated, you get to stuff your face with chips and salsa. I would say that the salsa is good for people who don't like it really hot, its somewhere between mild and plain. When I go to this restaurant I usually order the carne asada, and that comes with beans, mexican rice and some tortillas on the side. Every single time I order this dish, it never disappoints. When I cut into the carne asada it cuts like butter. When I also taste the rice and beans , the texture and how its made is really good. The warm tortillas though, seals the deal for me PRICE Like most people, getting the bill was scary, but in this case it was alright. I'm not saying its really cheap, but its affordable than most restaurants or high end for that matter. I would say a family of 3-5 would be around $60 and 5-8 would be closer to $80 or $90. I am absolutely in love with mexican food and have tried many different places. This one is one of my favorites. Pros: great food, wonderful service, and authentic atmosphere Cons: Can get loud, and booth spacing is weird Customer Service The customer service here is absolutely great. Because it is a family owned restaurant they try to treat you like you are a part of the family. The wait time is not to long and it it is longer than normal they always bring extra chips and salsa to snack on. The servers are super friendly and very accommodating. My glass was never empty. Location The location of los tequilas is not terrible its easy to get to and in a pretty central part of town. I would say that the parking is a little interesting. There is an over hang that covers the middle section and that can be hard to get in and out of when they are busy. But over all they have a big parking lot and lots of ways to get to there destination. Atmosphere Again because this is a family owned restaurant they treat you as such. All the booths are very close together and in a sort of circled setting as if you were sitting at one big family table. The walls are a warm color and covered in decorations. When you enter Los Tequilas its like stepping into a whole new world. Cleanliness Los tequilas keeps everything in tip top shape as far as i've seen. I've never experienced a problem with anything being uncleanly. Even the bathrooms are welcoming, clean, and comfortable. Even though they can get busy I always feel comfortable in their restaurant. Tase As far as taste goes Tequilas is my favorite. There are so many options and flavors. I usually get a chicken burrito that comes with rice and beans. It is a huge portion for a not to bad price. I always leave feeling full. Not only is the taste authentic mexican but it has a family house feel that you can't get anywhere else. When eating at Los Tequilas you are guaranteed the best hand made food for a great price. And guess what? They deliver! read more

This is my husband's favorite Mexican restaurant in Albany. I find it quite acceptable too. Since I eat whole food plant-based, it can often be difficult to find acceptable foods. Though their menu does not list many vegetable dishes, I have found them to very accommodating, doing an excellent at fulfilling my special requests of no oil, no dairy, etc. The service is always fast and friendly. read more

From a restaurant that got 4 1/2 stars on yelp, I expected more. First off the waiter seemed annoyed that we were even in there, like somehow we disturbed his break. The food also wasn't anywhere near good quality Mexican food, I would have rather tried making it myself than eat their food again. I order the fish tacos that were on special and was sorely disappointed. They contained shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, one spoonful of sour cream and chopped up breaded seafood of some kind, I honestly couldn't tell what it was,in the end 3 small uneventful soft tacos for $14, too expensive and not very good. And no avocado, who ever heard of a fish taco without avocado?My wife ordered the tequilas burrito, this I'm sad to say was also lack-lustered, she complained on the ride home that the pork was dry, totally under seasoned and flavorless, the verde sauce that it was topped with also had no taste whatsoever, overall completely bland dish. The complementary chips were old, and the bean dip had a funny pale looking color, which probably means it was sitting out made up for a while. Also the restaurant did not seem very clean and there were cobwebs on the main light fixture as well potted plants hanging over the tables. First visit on 8/20/17... the evening before the great eclipse. Very busy place that evening but we were seated within minutes. Nice varied menu. We made our choices and enjoyed complementary tortilla chips and salsa while we waited. It didn't take long to get our meal. I had the charbroiled chicken burrito and my companion had the vegetarian fajitas. Both were delicious. The portions were huge. The prices very reasonable for what you got. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The restroom nice and clean. If in town again, would certainly go there again! read more

My son and I were in Albany for a golf tournament and wanted Mexican for dinner. This restaurant was rated highest so we decided to try it.
