This place was amazing! My first time and the women at the register was so nice and greeted me with a smile! Not just that when I had originally placed the order of 2 carne asada Tj tacos over the phone she was still super nice on the phone! But back to the tacos there, they were amazing!! So delicious and so full of flavor! The best part is they came with a topping of onion and cilantro with guacamole! Also when you order these tacos you get free limes on the side. What a big letdown. We ordered: --one carne asada California burrito --two chicken tacos I normally looove California burritos and if you do too, don't get one here. The burrito's main problem was that it was kinda flavorless. Instead of Los Tito's having the main element be the star of the show, the carne asada meat was a bunch of hard fatty chunks of tough beef that had no flavor. Not even passable as carne asada. The french fries inside also were flavorless and soggy, not crisp. The other accoutrements in the burrito were overload, mainly sour cream so heavy I gagged a bit. The burrito really sucked. The 2 chicken tacos came on crispy corn shells (the only option on the DoorDash menu). Further down in the options to add is a + $3.95 charge for a flour tortilla. This was a ridiculous offering, because you would think if somebody was ordering the extra flour shell, that they would want it swapped for the corn one. Instead, they sent it separately. ONE TORTILLA for $3.95! What! The chicken taco was dripping with grease. The 3 items, at $47, with no add-ons other than the extra flour tortilla is sheer highway robbery. Oh, and these items were ordered from my hotel only 1 mile away from Los Tito's, and you would think logically that any customer staying at a hotel would need utensils, whether they asked for them or not. I didn't see that option on the app. No utensils were provided. Try swapping 2 corn tortillas using ONE flour tortilla with no utensils. So much fun. Not. The only item that arrived hot was the $3.95 tortilla. Probably because they almost missed including it in the order. There are better Mexican restaurants out there for less than $47 for 3 ordinary menu items, so my advice would be to skip this place. Signed, This is why we Yelp! read more

I really like the food quality, but two of our last three orders were wrong. First order was carne asada fries, we took it home and there was no carne asada meat, just fries, cheese and guacamole. We brought it back and they made us new ones with extra meat. The meat and fries are really good quality, I don't love the guacamole, a little flavorless but that's okay. Our next order we ordered a half order of carne asada fries and a full order of carne asada fries with shrimp. We only got the half order and that had 7 pieces of shrimp on it which was $7 extra dollars. They made us a full order of carne asada fries and we moved the shrimp to that order. It's just disappointing to have orders messed up that often, especially for a taco shop that I like! I'm going to give this place one more mess up and then I'm looking elsewhere. read more

It's hit or miss. I usually get the California pollo burrito, You never know if it'll be good or not. 50/50 chance. When the bean tostada is good, it's really good, when it's not, the shell is old and you can't bite through it, so I always ask to make sure the shell is fresh. Well tonight it wasn't. Disappointed and in addition to bad tostada tonight a homeless guy ( extremely dirty) comes in and goes through the garbage for food then 15 minutes later returns for water and touches everything on the counter. I ordered the asada nachos and they were terrible. I didn't know they even still made liquid nacho cheese but they do. The nachos were smothered in the stuff. There was almost no meat and the beans were dry and cold. Overall not a good experience as they made me sick. This for the Adobada Burrito ~$10(?). What a showstopper! My friend kept raving about this place and I was wondering if he was overhyping me up or if it was the real deal. The meat was delicious, fatty and oily. The burrito was perfectly wrapped (bursting at the seams). I liked that they had pico de gallo or some sorta salsa going on inside, give it that extra flavor layer and broke up the richness of the meat. The red sauce also has a KICK. My friend picked it up for us to eat at home and the burrito was still yummy and warm after sitting there for a hour. I feel like that's a testament to the hype, definitely get out there and try it! Ordered Carne Asada Burrito to go. The entire thing was freezing cold. (Not cold from guacamole or pico--meat was chilled, tortilla cold as it if it was leftover and put in a refrigerator.) Used a meat thermometer to test it, 63 degrees. Rolled tacos were room temp. No hot sauce in bag. Called to let the restaurant know, and they were not helpful. Afraid to eat the burrito, not sure how old was? How long it was sitting around? Did they pull it from the fridge and put it in a bag? I threw it in the trash, not taking chances. 12 bucks wasted. Ok so. Food wise (which is what most people wanna know) their food is A MA ZING. as a Mexican AND big foodie myself. Me and my partner always try different taco shops. And we just found THE one to be out go-to! I Highly recommend their shredded beef! Chile relleno is also super good. Carnitas are great. The food is just great! Now that being said, let me move to Customer service experience. As another service Industry myself who works dealing with a lot of people too. I have to give HUGE shoutouts and kudos to Both Gloria and Jane. For being So Young, and working at a taco shop (where usually customers are Not nice to the workers). They're both SO polite and nice. And not even Fake nice. They're genuinely sweet and attentive. They make the whole experience pleasant and we for sure will be coming back to this place for their delicious food. I've been a vegan for over a decade, 13 years since I've consumed meat. There have been minor errors over the years with a restaurant, ie chicken stock in rice, lard in beans, accidental dairy cross contamination: each time the restaurant has understood the severity of their issue and worked with me to find a solution appropriate for the mistake. Tonight, with no other customers or orders to fill, Los Tito's failed to not only complete one burrito order correctly, but failed to do what every other business has done in the past. A veggie burrito - just as it comes, with one addition: SOY chorizo. They even have an entire printed sign of vegetarian options, as if they understood people dietary preferences are less likely to change than their religion. After walking to my hotel in the rain, I took a bite and immediately noticed the MEAT was real meat. Didn't even look like soy chorizo, or chorizo. It was CLEARLY flesh. I walked back, in the rain, incredibly angry - my stomach in knots. I arrived, opened the burrito on the counter and asked the loser in the kitchen if the piece of meat was real or soy. He told me he wouldn't answer me with the attitude I had - I'll admit, I was furious: I didn't curse or yell, but I was as firm as one could be given the mistake he had made. The cashier came out, spoke in Spanish with the night shift cook, and looked me in the eye, "that's not real meat." After I asked one more time, pointing out it was CLEARLY FLESH, in pieces, not chopped fine or red in color as chorizo has always been, she admitted "yeah that's meat, my mistake." The cook butted in, "the grills closed we aren't cooking anymore." Cashier: "yeah, sorry." HOW IS THIS ANY BIT ACCEPTABLE? I've worked in good service. I've managed kitchens. I've been in their exact position when a mistakes been made. The several seconds of silence while we made eye contact, as if the problem was resolved. I then stated the obvious, "can I get a freaking refund...?" As she fumbled on the computer a few minutes, a customer walked in. I let him know the kitchen was closed, just as the cook told me a few minutes ago. The man asked if that was true, to which the cook responded, "well there are a few things still possible just wait a moment." We ordered supreme nachos, I had no clue fake cheese was even part of the ingredients at a Mexican taco shop in San Diego???? So gross! 5 stars!! This 24/hr taco shop is bomb!! It was 2:30AM and I was looking for a meal. Everything was closed so I drove to La Mesa. This taco shop had street tacos and they were stuffed to the brim!!
