Los Toasties was quite the surprise. On a whim my sister and I stopped by to pick up something for her husband. At least that was the plan... We ended up grabbing sandwiches for ourselves as well. We couldn't help it, it smelled too good in there not too! We both left with the chopped beef sandwich and added and tomato to our sammies. Keep in mind, toppings that are not included in the sandwich description are at an additional cost of .50 cents. No biggie for me, but good to know right? I kept it simple and just got the sandwich, but they do have some side options. If I recall correctly, there is an option for chips (of course!), potato salad and perhaps a pickle. I'll pay more attention on my next visit. I am definitely returning because the chopped beef was dericious! I did have to wait about 20 minutes before i could bite into my sandwich, and it was still amazing. I plan to have my next sandwich there and am sure it will be even better. I'll try not to just inhale it. read more

My husband and I had heard about this place a few months ago and have been dying to try it. It was certainly intriguing to find a New York style deli in Albuquerque and it didn't disappoint! I ordered the vegetarian arugula mozzarella and avocado sandwich with pesto and balsamic- the bread was super fresh and the sandwich itself was a great portion and was rich in flavor. My husband ordered the house smoked pastrami sandwich on marble rye bread- he said it was "craveable". He also said he really liked the meat- pickle-mustard ratio. Which counts for a lot. We shared a GIANT pickle and a s'mores empanada- yes you read that right. Both were absolutely delicious as well! The ambiance is casual and well decorated which was comfortable. Los Toasties truly looks like the neighborhood deli conveniently close to Cumbre Brewery. The decor clearly pays homage to New York City and their delis. And just like a Tardis, this place looks bigger from the inside. The employees were welcoming, helpful, and fast with my order. Being my first time and looking at NYC all over the walls, I chose the #1, which has pastrami on rye, Swiss cheese, mustard, and sliced pickles. The sandwich had a good size and amount of protein. The pastrami was smoky and the rye was thick. There was a little hint of mustard, which I liked. Even though it was decent, I am still unsure if it was truly worth $14.50 with no drink or side included. Overall, this place offers a good option for a deli, especially in ABQ, where we don't have that many. A true hidden gem!! Came for lunch and it was busy which in my opinion says it all!! The lady taking orders was super friendly and helpful. I got the special which was a Reuben/pastrami sandwich. It's hard to find a toasted sandwich in this town. This place is hidden but a nice find. I had the number 2 Turkey sandwich. The sandwich hit the spot, very well made you can tell everything is fresh and prepared well. Inside the place is a quirky what you see is what you get kind of place. The service is nice and friendly and helpful. They have some in house chips the make I tried those, like 2.5 stars out of 5, no big deal on those, I also got a side of pasta salad, hard pass on that. The pasta salad is way way way too salty, and I like salt on everything so that's saying a lot. Anyway you are here for the sandwich and it's great, give it a shot! I had heard nothing but great recommendations from this place and those recommendations did NOT disappoint. Small (literally) hole in the wall, huge flavor. Ordered the chopped beef and onion. Simple, yet so flavorful. Bit of a char on the beef, melted cheeses, sautéed caramelized onion, on a good roll, doesn't get better than that. Service was great, they were nice, informative, and genuinely had great recommendations. Plenty of parking, there is some seating inside, and simple menu. Only negative aspect is I got lost looking for those spot, if not attentive you can definitely pass this place and not even know it. Definitely coming back. read more

Came here today on a whim and what a good move. We were greeted super kindly from the moment we came in and the woman who took our order walked us through the menu and options since it was our first time. I opted for the chopped cheese and my girlfriend got the pastrami. We also got potato salad, pasta salad, and house chips to try. Let me start by saying this is everything a sandwich shop should be. A small menu with sandwiches made meticulously with care and quality ingredients you can taste. Both sandwiches were generous on the meats and tasted amazing. Probably one of the best pastrami sandwiches I've ever tried and the chopped cheese was delightful as well. The pasta salad was pretty darn tasty and the potato salad was simple but super good. The house chips were beautifully salty as well. Overall, I wish I was in town longer to become a regular here and try everything else on the menu, but then I'd be fatter than I already am. Tucked away on Girard just North of Candelaria is this new small business that is worth its weight in gold. It's close to La Cumbre so definitely keep it in mind for your next quick stop before grabbing a cold one. The atmosphere of this hidden gem is classic 'Burque and family oriented. Which totally fits since it's family owned and operated. It's a small intimate location with a few table tops and bar seating. There's a deli case showcasing their meats and cheeses as well as their desert options. Their various salad options are also displayed nicely. A "Snack Rack" is there with lots of options and a cooler with some NM staples to drink and a unlimited H2O station where you can fill up your own tumbler or get a free water cup from the counter. Service is fantastic. I was greeted upon entry and asked if I had any questions. It was amazing to be able to watch the food being made as I was waiting. The cooking and seating area were so clean and inviting. The food. My god the food. So good I almost ordered everything again for a round 2. We got the #1 pastrami the #4 chopped beef. Potato and pasta salad. House chips and homemade pickle. Nothing was left. It was all delicious and I have zero complaints. You can't miss this place. It's a local must stop snack and munch. The Muffuletta was like pizza in a sandwich that was a bit greasy but delicious. The Anniversary had a tasty and juicy roast beef with a nice jalapeño relish that resembled a giardiniera. Definitely the consistency in good food and experience earned this place an extra star!

I did get a Reuben and a cup of soup I asked for chicken noodle, but I got chicken rice, but it was still a good soup, so I ate it. They will bring you your food. They clean up pretty quickly after you're done so I know it was a great place.

Tuna with nothing in it but mayonnaise. It came with a very small cup of dressing. Probably 2 tablespoons. I asked for more dressing and it was an extra $.75. Not a huge deal, but seems strange for a salad to come with 2 tablespoons of dressing. Very disappointing experience. Their bagels looked very good and I'm gonna try those soon. I would not go here again for a sandwich or salad as there are too many better options nearby.
