Los Toasties truly looks like the neighborhood deli conveniently close to Cumbre Brewery. The decor clearly pays homage to New York City and their delis. And just like a Tardis, this place looks bigger from the inside. The employees were welcoming, helpful, and fast with my order. Being my first time and looking at NYC all over the walls, I chose the #1, which has pastrami on rye, Swiss cheese, mustard, and sliced pickles. The sandwich had a good size and amount of protein. The pastrami was smoky and the rye was thick. There was a little hint of mustard, which I liked. Even though it was decent, I am still unsure if it was truly worth $14.50 with no drink or side included. Overall, this place offers a good option for a deli, especially in ABQ, where we don't have that many. It gave me enough to want to try other options like the #2 and #3, or the bacon, egg, and cheese. Once I try more, I may update my review

A true hidden gem!! Came for lunch and it was busy which in my opinion says it all!! The lady taking orders was super friendly and helpful. I got the special which was a Reuben/pastrami sandwich. It was fantastic!! The house made chips were ok nothing too special. Price may be a little expensive but the sandwich was very very good and filling. I'll absolutely return and recommend to others!!

It's hard to find a toasted sandwich in this town. This place is hidden but a nice find. I had the number 2 Turkey sandwich. The sandwich hit the spot, very well made you can tell everything is fresh and prepared well. Inside the place is a quirky what you see is what you get kind of place. The service is nice and friendly and helpful. They have some in house chips the make I tried those, like 2.5 stars out of 5, no big deal on those, I also got a side of pasta salad, hard pass on that. The pasta salad is way way way too salty, and I like salt on everything so that's saying a lot. Anyway you are here for the sandwich and it's great, give it a shot! The sides are the only knock on this place.

Second visit, ducked out of rush hour traffic, had a fantastic sandwich. Got the #2 Smoked Turkey with green chile and avocado grilled cheese. Was delicious. They also do cute little empanadas. And pasta salads and giant pickles. And they are going to be doing soups as well. Expected them to be busier than they were. I always expect crowds during Balloon fiesta.

You want a really good sandwich in a new (to us) Mom & Pop eating establishment in central Albuquerque? Well, then join the boys from the VA Creative Writing Group as we venture to a new spot on Girard near Candelaria, where we all enjoyed the food, the fast service, and the homey atmosphere of Los Toasties. They are so new that they don't even have a Facebook page yet. We enjoyed ourselves, and you will too. Just click on the following YouTube video link and watch our review. https://youtu.be/yZOoFPTNuCY?si=XSq5QBtWUVZxc3mJ

Authentic, legit, ooey, gooey, Bronx bodega chopped cheese! Made to order by really nice guys. Right by La Cumbre Brewing.

Los Toasties! My wife and I went to go try their homemade deliciousness! We had an Italian sub and a cheesy Cubano the side we picked where potato salad and pasta salad. We also tried a coconut cola and that was quite interesting. Glad I tried it. Our favorite was the cheesy sandwich. Overall will definitely be back to try something else especially their homemade chips.

Tucked away on Girard just North of Candelaria is this new small business that is worth its weight in gold. It's close to La Cumbre so definitely keep it in mind for your next quick stop before grabbing a cold one. The atmosphere of this hidden gem is classic 'Burque and family oriented. Which totally fits since it's family owned and operated. It's a small intimate location with a few table tops and bar seating. There's a deli case showcasing their meats and cheeses as well as their desert options. Their various salad options are also displayed nicely. A "Snack Rack" is there with lots of options and a cooler with some NM staples to drink and a unlimited H2O station where you can fill up your own tumbler or get a free water cup from the counter. Service is fantastic. I was greeted upon entry and asked if I had any questions. It was amazing to be able to watch the food being made as I was waiting. The cooking and seating area were so clean and inviting. The food. My god the food. So good I almost ordered everything again for a round 2. We got the #1 pastrami the #4 chopped beef. Potato and pasta salad. House chips and homemade pickle. Nothing was left. It was all delicious and I have zero complaints. You can't miss this place. It's a local must stop snack and munch. Go immediately.

I've been going there ever since. A few years ago, they added a bakery. It is chock full of delicious cookies, eclairs, cannolis, and you can even get a wedding cake there. Most recently, I went with some coworkers for lunch and ordered the Bella Mozzarella sandwich. Beautiful, thick slices of fresh mozzarella, loaded with tomatoes and basil. The bread was super fresh, and the potato salad was very flavorful. My coworker got an eclair on our way out. I just had a bite and it was divine. The older gentleman behind the counter was courteous and friendly. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the side wall is covered in shelves that contain imported pasta and various other products from Italy. There's a freezer case filled with premade meals and meat. If you haven't been there, it's definitely worth a stop

Over the years I keep going back, about once a year: I've had their sandwiches, their pastries, their pies . . . all kinda "meh" and all priced pretty reasonably but not inexpensively. Sandwiches give you a lot of everything . . . except flavor. Pastries are . . . fine. Pies are . . . fine, and kinda small (and not inexpensive, maybe reaching towards pricey); it's the kinda thing you are willing to pay for in order to bring it to a gathering, only to find almost no one bothers to eat it. And so you don't bother. The cookies are pretty good, actually. (And, yes, I know Italian delis - my Italian grandparents brought me to them in New York when I was a child. However, I'm not judging Tully's against these (as in "it's not as good as Back East"), I'm just saying it never really turns my crank.) Today I had a hot chicken, cheese, onion and pepper sandwich, the Carmela. It was a lot of food. But . . . not a lot of flavor. A whole lot of drippy mess in the bottom of my basket, though: water absolutely sopped through the (completely unmemorable tasting) bread loaf and pooled at the bottom of my basket as I ate in. The potato salad served alongside was fine - like what you'd get at Albertson's. The chicken was tender and . . . essentially without flavor, not even salt. There had clearly been a little marinade (I could sense some oregano and maybe garlic in there) but man could this thing have used about five times as much seasoning and then a healthy dose of a vinegar/garlic/oregano dressing on top of it. Bland. Lots of food in that $17 (almost $25 with tip) sandwich, but not a lot of enjoyment. I've had other Tully's sandwiches (both for here and to-go) that were better, but I can't really recall any of them . . . and I _never_ rush back. Like I said, this is a place I think about ("Hey, I'm right nearby; I should try Tully's again!") about once a year . . . and then, meh. To be fair - I believe that I am pretty out in left field on this take: Tully's is popular and always hopping. Get here early unless you want to stand in line. I only had to wait about three minutes to order, but by the time I left at noon this Friday there was a line to order all the way from the counter to the door. In terms of the room, it's a deli. Reasonably well set out with a decent amount of seating set out well, as well as some outside seating that you might want to try when it's not in the nineties. You order at the counter, pay, go get your own fountain drink (they also have some beer and wine, which they will serve you), find a seat and they'll bring it to you. When you're done, you bus it yourself. Pleasant staff - I don't regret tipping, although they don't do much. (As others have mentioned, if you get a cup of water, Tully's generously gives you a decent sized Solo cup - another plus.) It's fine. If you go, at least get yourself some cookies - they're pretty good.

My go-to order is the "Pronto" with sausage and green chile. Just tell the kitchen that's what you want, and they'll take care of the rest. Wrapped in foil and perfectly sized (and priced) for a good breakfast on the go, the Pronto delivers a well-balanced combination of eggs, cheese, potatoes, sausage, and New Mexico green chile. As you peel back the foil, you're greeted with warm, satisfying goodness in every bite. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. The espresso didn't taste burnt or like the machine hadn't been cleaned in a while (you can tell). Sadly, the breakfast sandwich was underwhelming.
