Los Tres Chiflados was my friend's choice when my daughter and I visited. It is a quaint little restaurant with basic menu options. Because of the time of day I didn't have a full meal. I did sit and enjoy watching my friend and daughter eat their burritos. I had a taste of my daughter's chicken burrito. As usual there's enough for her to take half home. The service was timely and the place was clean. We arrived early and sat by the front window. At the time we left the restaurant was filling up with customers. And the tamales have to be the most delicate ones I've ever had-- it's a little hard to describe, but they're not dense like typical ones. These are amazing. I wish I had brought some home. Really more like 3.5 stars The food was good, but me and my friend went on a Knicks game day so ppl kept stopping in to watch the game, but they wouldn't allow anyone to sit and watch even tho the place was practically empty, there were people around the bar, and one other couple eating and that was about it, once me and my friend had finished eating it felt like they were trying to rush us out, they could've used this as a marketing opportunity and offered a game day special like you can come in to watch the game if you purchase chips and salsa and a drink or something, or just have a game day menu with more affordable prices so ppl from the community aren't being made to feel uncomfortable when really everyone is just trying to be in community with each other Also, I never got something that I ordered and when we were about to pay I had to ask if it had been put on the bill bc we didn't get an itemized bill, and when the server went to check on it, he came back and his response was to tell me the kitchen said they made it... ok well I didn't eat it bc it wasn't on MY plate so now what? They did end up removing it from the bill but I thought it was so odd for that to be the initial response, I didn't make a big deal about it, but really all that could've led to is an unnecessary back and forth, if I'm telling you it wasn't on my plate, what did you want me to say in response to what the kitchen staff said? Great Mexican in the neighborhood. Food was good and the drinks were strong and flavorful. The food came out pretty soon after we ordered on a very busy night. 8.2 out of 10 will recommend. I love this restaurant. I came here 8/13/24, There are three different dining areas plus a backyard patio. The decor has traditional, memorabilia and skeletons. The backyard is very colorful. It's been a while since, I've been here and I'm glad I'm back @lostreschiflados.bk. I came with foodie girl @simplidessa. This hidden gem is near Kings Theatre offers such yummy Mexican food. We had Chicken Empanadas Nachos Elote Bistec Asado Chicken Fajitas Salmon burger (fried) Coconut Margarita Passion fruit margarita Pina Colada Red Sangria We really like the drinks here and we had a couple rounds. The chicken empanadas were made with shredded instead of ground chicken. The elote corn is made with sweetcorn and it was yummy. The steak was tender and well seasoned. The Salmon burger was different because it was fried but still yummy and it wasn't dry. The chicken fajitas was really really good and had a tiny hint of spice and the steak and fajitas were accompanied with yellow rice and black beans. Their calamari was yummy too. The food is really good. I came in once with my dad and we got tacos. I got birria tacos with a side of avocado , the tacos were delicious in the avocado was fresh. For some reason, it's really challenging to find Mexican food that we really love. Either it's very bland or it's spicy as heck. I was very determined in my quest and upon my research and seeing the great recviews and pics here on Yelp, I decided to order delivery from Los Tres Chiflados. We ordered rice and beans, chicken flautas and the fish taco. Seems like a lot, but it was just perfect and I always love rice and beans as it rounds out the meal perfectly. The outer shell of the flautas was a little bit overdone, but tasty nonetheless. The chicken inside was moist and flavorful, and as I said, the rice and beans were the perfect accompaniment to this dish. My fish taco was outstanding. It was cooked to perfection, lightly fried and garnished with a light red onion slaw and chipotle sauce. The fish itself tasted extremely fresh and overall I thought it was just delicious with the perfect amount of heat and really satisfied my fish taco craving. If I had one, wish, it would be that there was more fish! As far as delivery goes, Uber eats was fantastic, delivering in just under 60 minutes. Very reasonable, considering this is a bit of a distance away from our residence. Would definitely add this place to our rotation the next time we are craving Mexican food. read more

I visited on Valentine's Day, the food was brought out fast and the drinks were made perfectly. I had the lychee margarita (Valentine's Day special drink) and the Salmon Burger to eat which is ultimately just a salmon croquette on a burger. Both were good. I ultimately wanted the nachos but they do not serve queso, only melted cheese which I find odd. Service did get very slow as the night got busier. The place is cute and cozy. I went back a second time and sat at the bar but did not get greeted or asked what I want so I left after 7-10 min. read more

My wife and I met a dear friend at this location before a Brandon Lake concert at Kings Theatre across the street. The food was delicious (they're carnitas was ON POINT), of which we were all very delighted. The location was clean and its ambiance had an authentic Mexican flair to it (what I was used to growing up in, in East Los Angeles). Service was "okay." Firstly, they won't seat you unless the entire party is there (I'll never understand this rule - we were waiting for one person). Other than that, our server was non-existent once our order was taken. (shrug) May have been due to concert goers flooding the restaurant, but am thinking that by now they should be able to handle such large crowds, ensuring premium customer service. Some friends and I had dinner here one Saturday evening after seeing a show at the Kings theater which was right across the street. We had to wait a few minutes for a table. The restaurant was busy since most people seem to be coming in from the show. Parking in the area is very scarce especially if there's an event in the theater. It was a group of 5 of us and we each ordered some type of margarita that we all thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the chicken burrito that came with a small salad and it was good. The restaurant had sufficient space to accommodate big groups. The staff were friendly and attentive to our small group. Just be mindful if you go on a busy day, you wont be able to linger and chat. However, I do agree that there should be ice in the water (although I could have specified) and chips and salsa as a starter would have been appreciated and a nice touch. Wtf. How do you hand me a menu with the price and then charge me something different? I ordered the guacamole with chips which on the menu was 8.95. I noticed that when I got my bill it said 9:95. I brought it to the waiter's attention. His response was that they didn't get the new menus from the printer yet. That should have been a conversation when I placed my order or when you handed me the menu or it should have reverted to the price that was on the menu. Add to that, the fact that I had to bring my own bill up for payment only to watch my card get scanned and placed to the side until I actually got back up again, went to the bar and asked for it to sign. There were very few people on the restaurant and I was seated at a served table so there's no reason for this The shrimp tacos were good but so are the ones across the street. I was so pleasantly surprised by my dinner from here (via delivery). Surprised because like how pizza is generally not good in California, good Mexican food is hard to come by in New York. I'm happy to report that the food was delivered on time, it was delicious, the portions were sizeable, and the prices were reasonable. The fish in the pescado taco was lightly breaded, with a tasty medley of cabbage and mayo on the taco. The fish was fresh and flavorful. I can say the same for the shrimp taco, which was similarly delicious. The rice and beans I paired this with was large and very tasty. I often find that rice served at many restaurants comes very dry, but that wasn't the case here. They also give you a bag of tortilla chips that were clearly made at the restaurant and were fresh and crispy. The green salsa it came with had the perfect amount of spice for me. My friend enjoyed his al pastor torta, which was enormous and full of juicy, saucy, pork. This was one of the better Mexican meals I've had in recent memory. read more

When they took our orders, I appreciated that they asked if they should keep jalapenos out of the kids' nachos and if we needed highchairs. The place had a casual but neat vibe with a TV above the bar playing fun 80s/90s videos like "Eye of the Tiger", "Don't Stop til You Get Enough", and "Mambo No. 5". I like! To drink, my Horchata tasted refreshingly good but was slightly thin in texture. Then my entree of Enchiladas which came with my choices of mole sauce and shredded chicken was effing delicious! The mole sauce had a deep and slightly spicy flavor while the chicken was carefully shredded to sop up all that sauce. Toppings like pickled onion and other veggies brightened the dish while the rice and beans that came with it were perfectly cooked and tasty, though the beans would have been even better topped with some cotija cheese. In any case, everything tasted fresh. Throughout the meal, they checked on us a few times and were really accommodating. However, at the end, they were pretty slow in giving us the check. Yet, they split it nicely between 2 families with exactly what each family ordered. I'd definitely visit again especially after a show. I have eaten twice here in less than 5 days. I was sent to work in a site nearby. While I had decided on pizza for lunch the pizzeria google sent me to was closed. On my walking adventure I spotted this location and my hunger led me here. I do not regret it one bit. I ordered an Al Pastor torta and a chicken torta to take home. Wow so delicious from the freshness of the veggies, the jalapeños and the flavor of the meat it was great. I was able to eat half and saved the rest for later. Now my second time this week ordering my coworkers joined in the fun. I ordered the fish burrito and elite and my coworkers ordered the chicken tostada and a torta de Al pastor. Everyone was so happy with their order and the food once again was delicious. We did order through Uber eats because it was out of the deliverable area. I'm relatively easy going in terms of food satisfaction. As long as the food is prepared safely and service is fine, I'm generally good. So it takes a lot to turn me off. I had this restaurant a couple of times in person, pick up and delivery. The food when it arrives/appears, is truly good and it is placed in a good location in front of Kings theater if you need something after or before a show. The issue is the arrival. One time during a pick up order they forgot a drink. Totally fine, I called and picked it up again since I was close by. But not a big deal and things happen. However, due to a family obligation I was unable to pick up food so I had to order it. The food came relatively late. I had ordered wings (for a friend), a Coke, extra sour cream and a big burrito. Guess the item that didn't show up... the burrito. And it was my receipt on the order so it wasn't a mistake of the driver giving me the wrong order. Also, the bag was stapled so it would be obvious if something was ripped out (especially burrito sized) Just in case it was a mistake and since a friend offered to pick it up for me if it was available & they were finally free, I called in. If they ran out, that would be fine. If they were too busy and admitted that, I would be fine and take it as bad luck and a simple refund. However, someone answered and picked up but left the call on for 15 minutes so I could hear the restaurant in the background. I had to hang up to do other things but it seemed like they either forget the call or they were ignoring it. Either way, I would feel uncomfortable recommending this place at least for pick up and delivery. The service was fine when you are in the place, so maybe you would be fine in person. But if you have a choice, there are other options. read more

A really neat little Mexican joint across the theatre. Last week we went to a show at the Kong's theatre and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat along with a few drinks. The restaurant was conveniently across the street from the restaurant. Several other couples were there as well who were going to the show. The restaurant is very small so you have to time it right. We sat at the bar and it was perfect. The staff was great, they took care of us quickly and attentively. We did not want a meal so we ordered chips and guacamole and a chorizo taco as well. I went to this restaurant on a weekend mid day. There were a few people waiting and we sat down after 15 min. For the size of the place the wait time wasn't too bad. The server was friendly and helpful. The food was also delicious. We got some tacos, flautas, enchiladas, corn on the cob, french fries and horchatas. We had asked if we could put alcohol in the horchatas and the server was able to provide alcohol recommendations that would work with the deink and he was able to deliver the drink (which was delicious). The food took about 20 mins to come out but the wait was worth it as it was delicious. We were able to eat and take our time. I'm going to be honest - we ate here because of the small sign on the door that said "restrooms for paying customers only".... which means they had a restroom! We were going to a show at the King's Theater across the street, and after driving through two hours of traffic to get there (and the extra time trying to find a parking spot on a Saturday night) we wanted something good to eat AND a bathroom. So. The food was really tasty, the service was fast and friendly, the bathroom was much cleaner than I had expected. Everything was pretty good. The tortilla chips were definitely homemade, and not the cheap kind from a bag. The staff was friendly and attentive. Things that *could* have made this a five-star rating? 1. Put ice in the water brought to the table. A plastic cup of lukewarm tap water just doesn't feel clean and crisp in the mouth. For that matter, use real glass beverage containers instead of plastic. Plastic cups just never feel clean. Ugh. I'd rather have a paper cup that I know has never been used by someone else. 2. Put a basket of tortilla chips on the table with a nice bowl of salsa - instead of just a handful of chips on the plate. Put a nice ladle of refried beans on the plate next to the entree, instead. 3. Leave the check on the table in a timely manner. I mean, on one hand, it was nice not to be rushed, but there were literally people standing against the wall waiting for a seat, and we were ready to leave, but didn't have the check. read more

We placed our order and waited twenty minutes for the very small guacamole appetizer to arrive. We waited and waited; my friend slowed worked through two beers and my coffee took an hour. A server came to briefly apologize and promised our meal in two minutes. We waited. Groups on both sides of us came and went. Our food was delivered to the table at 7:40. We didn't want to miss our show so we asked for the food to be wrapped to go. That took another ten minutes. No apology, no adjustment to the bill, no invitation to come back and make it right. Not a dependable pre-show meal. (No food is allowed in the King's Theatre, so I had to give it away to a security guard.) Be forewarned. read more

One of the best authentic Mexican spots in Brooklyn. Cactus salad is a must have but there is little I can say not to try. I test something new each time I'm here and so far never disappointed. This is a solid option across from the Kings Theatre and probably one of the better options in the general vicinity. We arrived just before a show at that theatre and the restaurant was packed. It's a small place but we were seated within 5 minutes. The service was friendly but super slow for a small order for a table of two. The table next to us was seated at the same time as us and were served their meal just as we were wrapping up. As far as the food, portions were generous and the food was average. The standout was the fresh quac and chips. Our tacos were okay; better than I am used to at most places outside of the five boroughs, but a pretty distant second to the tacos I'm used to at Los Tacos #1 in midtown. At the very least, the drinks here are cheaper than across the street at Kings Theatre. So there's that. read more
