Sunday's suck in here. They won't take reservations. Everyone working but our server was completely incompetent. We came in at 6. Party of 8. The restaurant was half empty. They wouldn't seat us for 45 min. Saying we had to wait for a table to be done the 4 top had just sat down didn't even have beers yet. They wouldn't even ask them to move to one of the other 6 4 tops available. Our server was awesome she took matters into her own hands and made room for us in one of the empty areas. As a local I go to lost coast like once a year, and am reminded why. This last time was really the worst. It was a busy weekday night with trivia. I will list the issues in order they happened. We sat down at the bar and asked for a menu, she gave us one. While the bartender was pouring drinks, she was on the phone face timing with someone. The fries were okay, but super salty. We ordered another drink, I was super grossed out how she touched the rim of the glass. The food took about an hour. My burger was desert dry. Even the bartender noticed. Friendly bartender with solid beer recommendations! Love the old building! Sat at the bar with our friends and had a few pints and dinner on our way through town. I enjoyed the Brown Ale, my wife The.Great White, and friend the BlackBerry Lager. The food was satisfying and I recommend the seasoned fries. DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING!!!! I was so excited to celebrate my birthday at Lost Coast Brewery & Café--we drove to Eureka specifically for this place 12/7/25. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. From the start, the person who helped us was rude and dismissive. I understand people have bad days, but her attitude was unacceptable. When I simply asked if they had cider, she laughed and caught an attitude. I requested a sample of a strawberry option they had on tap, and when I then asked to order that drink, she said, "I'm sorry, I can't possibly remember everyone's drink when I pour drinks all day." That comment was disrespectful and unnecessary. As a human being that works with the public, it's a no brainer to say that is not how you talk to people...perhaps something along the lines of "Remind me what that was again"....I could never imagine talking to people that way. The best part though, is that while charging us--despite saying she couldn't remember everyone's drink--she somehow remembered my husband's order just fine. The inconsistency and tone were frustrating and soured the entire visit. We only came to Eureka for this spot, and it turned into the worst birthday experience. I had hoped for a fun, friendly celebration, but the service made it anything but. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this location based on how we were treated. read more

Lost Coast Brewery is a lot of fun! They have creepy-cute, very creative decor, lots of drink options (tons of good beers of course, but also reasonably priced wines, hard cider & non-alcoholic refreshments) and good food. It's pub food, but if you want something a bit healthier, you can have a really nice salad as your side instead of fries, with no up-charge! And no matter how busy it gets, the people working here have always been wonderful, without fail: very kind, welcoming and helpful. read more

Seriously worth the 6+ hour drive we did. By far the best fish and chips in Cali. This place is a hidden gem definitely needs more recognition. Five stars across the board. The staff here were so knowledgeable and friendly what stood out was the way they helped each other out in executing a wonderful service. We hadn't been in years so decided to swing by for lunch. The food is great - I ordered the Navajo Chicken Sandwich with garlic fries and loved every bite of it. Unique combination of flavors and a good sized portion. Husband enjoyed his fish and chips. Beers were good. So. The service. We sat down, quickly ordered, and our one appetizer took a half hour to arrive. Entrees were another half hour after that. The table next to us was sat (and ordered) just before our appetizer arrived, and their entrees arrived a solid 15 minutes before ours. Zero explanation for why our food was so delayed. And hour for food to arrive is frustrating. And the cost. It was NINETY DOLLARS for lunch for two. One appetizer, two entrees, three beers, and a root beer. NINETY DOLLARS. Food costs have gone up and I've accepted that my restaurant bill is higher nowadays. However, $90 for lunch at a brewpub is insane. Finally, what brewery charges $7.25 per pint of their own beer? I can get a six-pack of it for a few dollars more at any local store. read more

Great place to grab a beer and some food. Lost Coast Brewery is a female-owned brewery that started out over 30 years ago before craft breweries were a big thing. When I visited Eureka for the first time recently, I was told that this place had the best wings in town. Some wings and a beer sounded amazing as my first meal after a long flight. Their website says Lost Coast Brewery bottles and cans 225,000 beers and fill up 800 kegs a day. That's a lot of beer for a local brewery. There are a couple locations in Eureka where you can sample Lost Coast beer at. I stopped in at their cafe near downtown. It was pretty packed here and the wait was long. I was fortunate enough to snag a spot at the bar. The Great White and Downtown Brown are some of their popular beers. I like to drink wheat beers in the summer and grabbed a Tangerine Wheat and some of their famous Buffalo wings. The wings were pretty awesome and paired well with my beer. Lost Coast Brewery also makes their own draft root beer in-house. I rarely drink soda, but I couldn't pass up a homemade root beer. Despite how crazy busy this place was, Lost Coast Brewery was a good find for me. Really good beer. I hope I can find some back home. read more

Can't go wrong with Lost Coast, we went there for lunch towards the end of our trip and had a great lunch. The fried shrimp basket comes with huge shrimp, and I tried their famous brown with Au Jus- it came together really well weirdly enough. As for beers we enjoyed the Great White, Mosiac Hazy, Tangerine Wheat, and Watermelon Wheat. Amazing service while we were there despite it being very busy. I also recommend their house root beer, it reminded me a lot of a chain back (Ward's) where I grew up that had house root beer. read more

Lost Coast has a very funky vibe when you walk in the cafe - stuffed spider dangling above your head just adds to the experience. Their beers are pretty well known - I went with the Lost Coast IPA (very good). Others had Revenant, Hazy IPAs and the Tangerine. I think I won with the best beer. For food, I had the Black and Bleu burger - very tasty but literally impossible to eat with your hands. After the first bite, the burger disintegrated. But knife and fork was pretty successful. Not sure I was a fan of the breaded pickles. Others had the Elk Burger - didn't taste much Elk - not the normal gamey taste you get from deer and elk. Navajo Chicken was tasty but the bread to chicken ratio was a little heavy on the bread side. Finally, there was the Classic Burger which was fine - nothing amazing but a fine burger. At first, I was hesitant to go here because I do not like beer. But my kids wanted to go so of course I went, and they were happy. The food is really great! I did not expect that. The menu has everything you could possibly want and things that you've never thought of. It's like an adventure plus they have tasty cherry cider ale. If you go during the week, it's faster. Lost Coast Brewery Cafe is located in the heart of "downtown" Eureka. I dropped in for takeout but wish I had eaten in, the atmosphere was really lively and fun. But sadly, the colorful and funky wall decor had way more flavor than the food I received. I ordered from the bar and the bartender was super knowledgable and helpful (although she said the fish tacos were medium sized and they were actually quite large). I ordered 3 total but was left severely disappointed. They were the most bland fish tacos I think I've ever had. Tortilla - flavorless Bed of cabbage - flavorless Fish - flavorless Batter - flavorless Sauce - bite yet flavorless The only thing that really helped was the lemon wedge. All the ingredients felt rather fresh, but the lack of flavor left a lot to be desired. Not too expensive but ultimately overpriced given the blandness. This was a great place to come in on a rainy Wednesday afternoon in March to enjoy a cod sandwich and a couple of brews. Friendly barman, quite the vibe, and they have trivia in the evening to boot. Lost Coast seems to be the big brewery for Eureka! I say that because they have more than one location here... a taproom and a cafe. So far I have had two different beers from Lost Coast and both of them I have really enjoyed. The Tangerine Wheat was my first Lost Coast beer and it was very good! Nice citrus taste to it without it getting too out of hand on sweetness. Nice bready flavor to it! The next one was another good beer! The Peanut Butter Chocolate Milk Shake Stout was the next beer Steve and I enjoyed. All those features... peanut butter, chocolate and a milk shake quality was all there but again it didn't make the beer too overwhelming or rich. It was just right! Literally have been stopping in here for 30 years now, and it's always pretty fun--especially that spider at the door (spoiler!). It always makes me laugh, because I forget about it each time and get surprised anyway. The service is always great, and the food selection is great, too. There was plenty of free street parking nearby. Enjoyed checking out the funky decorations, food hit the spot & beers were very tasty. My favorite beer was the Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat- nice fruity flavor without being syrupy or artificial tasting. Could easy kick back a couple pints. What's a cool place to stop for a bite after a long snowy trek across from Sacramento! The design and atmosphere were cool and eclectic for sure. The food and beer were just what I needed to recharge and fill up. I had the black and blue burger and it was amazing! Tall tasty and hearty, it had great balance between the beef, bacon, and funky bleu cheese it was everything I wanted when I read the menu. The fries were crispy and full of garlic flavor. (1 star at first) I'll update this if we EVER get our food, and if it's good. I hope so--we've been waiting 45 minutes for a salad & fried shrimp. On a Tuesday night at 8:30. Updated...from 1 to 3 stars (& ONLY bc previous visits have been a little better). I'd probably give 2 1/2 stars if I could. The Buffalo Chicken salad looked & tasted great, with huge chunks of meat. I did have to ask for more tomatoes, as there were only 2(!!) cherry tomatoes cut in half. My daughter's fried shrimp was fine, but her seasoned fries (extra $) were a huge disappointment. The seasoning was tasty, but the fries were not only NOT fresh, they were chewy & kind of tough...how do you screw up fries? We asked for & received a fresh, hot batch, but they still were tough, so we gave up. When we got our bill, there was an incorrect drink charge, and worse--a "service charge"...huh? I asked the waiter & he said his manager could tell me. She said it's to help offset the rising cost of food. She was gracious in saying she'd take it off, but we'd already had the bill fixed once. I just don't like charges like that being snuck into my bill; they should be up front about it. IF you're still reading.... we will probably still go back next time we're in town, bc we love the vibe, draught root beer, & the buffalo chicken. And, we've been coming every summer for 22 years. If I could give you guys 10 stars, I would. I walked in after the drive from fort Bragg looking to quench my thirst and low and behold, Lost Coast Brewery was down the street so I HAD to go. I parked in the back which had metered parking but I happened to have chose the spot which someone over paid, thanks random citizen! Popped in and wow, it was so busy but I was lucky to find the one open spot at the bar. When you go to a brewery, I'm pretty sure it's bad luck if you don't get a flight. At least, that's my own superstition. And the flights here are CHEEEAAAAAP so it's totally worth it! I picked 5 that I wanted and told the beer maiden to choose the 6th one but that I wanted it to be an IPA (I don't love IPA's but I'm always down to try) and she chose the beer of the month that came with a lemon and I swear that was not an IPA. It was too damn good! High ABV and delicious = dangerous. I also needed some food to go with the brews so I got the jambalaya and it was so. freaking. GOOD! The decor in this place is neat and also, local. They do some kind of race/rally thing where locals decorate their (I think I remember correctly) boat (??) and some of those decorations end up at the brewery. If you're looking for a cheap, and amazing 6 pack to take home or gift, this is definitely the place for it and you can only get certain packs here that aren't offered in stores. Score! Definitely going to have to make my way back here for some more jambalaya, beer and great, quick and knowledgeable service. read more

Fish and chips had very little fish, Chips mediocre Order of garlic fries we were not told the garlic would cost $2 and be a very tiny amount of garlic in one little spot on the fries.finally were seated and could order and then we waited at least 3/4 of an hour for our food while watching people who arrived after us be served and eat and leave well before us.The sodas we had ordered to get us through the wait for our food was $4 a glass, Service was very poor and food was poor. I will never eat there again and hope no one else does.When we saw the bill there were charges like a 3 % charge called a service charge (whatever that is) and a $2 charge for garlic fries that had a very tiny bit of chopped garlic tucked into a corner of the fries.
