Upon arriving at the place at around 6pm on a Tuesday and finding the parking lot entirely, 100%, full, I didn't have much for initial hopes. The restaurant looks to be located in an office park and is surrounded by similar low-rise buildings that reek of "software development firm" or somewhere to get an MRI. But all of that is before going in. Inside (after securing a parking spot in one of the neighboring office park parking lots), I found the place to be HUGE. There must have been 500 people in there on a weeknight. Lots of kids and families. Lots of game areas. A huge bar and open kitchen. Thing is, the noise level was amazingly under control and the staff had the place entirely managed. None of the gigantic wait or crowds of patrons milling around as is usually the case in these giant places. I sat at the bar while awaiting the rest of my party and had prompt service by the bartender and wasn't treated as a leper by the hosts. They took my name and casually arranged for me to get a table once the rest of my party arrived. The professionalism exhibited by the staff was notable. Once seated, service (Kimberly was terrific even as she noted that this was only her second shift after having been relocated from Michael Timothy's...an associated Nashua restaurant that has recently shuttered) was prompt and competent. And the food was reasonably priced and actually was pretty good bbq for Nashua/New Hampshire. Portions were generous. Everything was well-cooked. It's not Memphis/St. Louis/Austin, but again, for NH it was darn good. Probably the best bbq I've had around here in years. The only odd thing was that the place went from 500 patrons at 6pm to me and my table closing the place out at 8:30pm. Once again, Nashua's reputation for rolling up the sidewalks (even in an office park) when the families and kids go home to bed early on weeknights holds true. We were a party of 15 on a busy holiday weekend evening and Nikki was our amazing server. (She worked alone). We ordered 4 appetizers, all of us had different meals and an array of drinks and everything was perfect! The restaurant itself is open and inviting, with one of the largest bars in NH. The lost cowboy was really good! I went with a group of 6- we got there around 4:45 and had about a 20 min wait for a table (it was Saturday). We decided to have a drink at the bar while waiting for our table- the bar is huge! Once we were at our table we ordered some nachos and fries for appetizers- Both were devoured by our group. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks as well. I'm giving this 4 stars because we would have liked to eat outside but they don't sit parties of 6 outside, and when we were sitting at the bar the bartender was pressuring us to order our meals and eat there, but since we were in a group we wanted to sit together instead of in a row of 6. read more

Lost Cowboy Brewing Co has finally opened in Nashua, in the former SNHU building on Amherst St EB. They are a part of the MT Dining Group affiliated with Buckley's Great Steaks, Buckley's Bakery, Surf Seafood, and Mike's Italian Kitchen. The space was redone into a modern casual country western bar, brewpub, and restaurant with hardwood flooring, a 4-sided long bar with ample high chair seating, and 10 flatscreen TVs hanging over the bar with the large LOST COWBOY lighting.  There are also tables, high tops and booths spread out in the space, painted Western art & decor, murals, American flag, plenty of deer heads, overhanging antler lights, comfortable seating in front of the fireplace, and flatscreen TVs throughout. There is also shuffleboard and cornhole in the back corner adjacent to the brewing viewing area. The backroom full of brewing tanks is showcased from their big windows along Amherst St. There is also outdoor patio seating with firepits overlooking the duck pond.  The food menu offers a variety of BBQ fare, sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, sides, steak frites, catfish (blackened or fried), prime rib, and tacos. The bar offers up to 32 beers on tap (64 taps), wine, liquor, cocktails, tequila and margaritas.  The prices are moderate high.  I stopped in at the Lost Cowboy after work and the main parking lot was already full, but there is an additional parking lot in the back. I walk in and there were folks waiting out in the front inside and outside. However, I easily found an open seat at the bar and one of the 6 bartenders gave me a menu and offered ice water.  I placed my food order quickly for a starter and sandwich with fries. The Bacon Burnt Ends ($15 plus tax) which had tender bacon smoked burnt ends smothered in a sweet & smoky BBQ sauce over firm cornbread and topped with sweet n spicy pickles. The Pulled Pork Sandwich ($16 plus tax) was served on a metal tray with tender pulled pork with a sweet bbq sauce, mustard slaw & pickles on a toasted bun served thick natural cut fries seasoned nicely, ketchup on the side. The check came out to $33.64 with tax and before tip. The food here was pretty good, but the service was scattered. The appetizer came out within 10 minutes after ordering. However the pulled pork sandwich did not arrive after 35 minutes and I summize that part of my order got "lost" and did not initially get entered in. The bartender went on the system and within 5 minutes, my Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries was served. Overall, I would return here after the newness of this place wears down. Though very busy all around, the service could be more efficient. It took a while to pay the check even though the bartender who took my order was standing over my check with payment ready and instead taking new customers' orders and walking away. Another bartender walked by after 10 minutes and asked if I needed to cash out. Also, after I got a to go box for some of my food, a kitchen runner came out with a pulled pork sandwich with fries, some 50 minutes after placing the initial order. Our waitress was excellent, we were seated outside and she made sure we stayed hydrated on the hot day. Drinks- tried the LC Ranch Water and their lager. Both were great. Ranch water was refreshing and could definitely tell that they were not stingy with their pour. Lager has a nice hoppy taste, I'm not a big IPA guy and really just drink Coors banquets so I loved this. Food- If you're from the south or some kind of bbq pitmaster this might not be for you. The ribs didn't really have a bark on them and the brisket doesn't have a good flop to it. If you don't know what that means then you might like it. Taking all of that into consideration it was not bad. I know I'm not down south or in the mid west so it gets judged on a different scale. The flavor was good on the rib from the sauce and it fell off the bone. The brisket was tender and again the sauce was pretty good. Sauce is definitely vinegar based, but I think they have others you can choose from. Mac and cheese was pretty good nice crust on top and I think they use cheez its as part of the crust. Pickles were definitely pickling. Overall a great place, a little pricey but we had a bunch of food to go. Had dinner here with friends. We waited for a booth as we are not fans of the chairs. Started with apps and drinks, very good. Our dinner was good as well. Atmosphere is nice and the staff were great. They had a medical emergency next to our and were great in getting him an ambulance and taking good care of him. Kudos to the staff who handled that. The food is good just a lil pricey for burgers, app and drinks it was over $100. But we will be back and now we know they have booths and would wait again for one. I just want to know what's in their salsa as it's really good and it tasted like it had a hint of beer. I asked the waitress about it but never got an answer . We are huge fans of Michael Buckley's restaurants, with Surf topping the list. We enjoy the Lost Cowboy's atmosphere and the level of service is excellent. That said, you can get better bbq in the area but not with the ambience. Smokehaus in Amherst is our go-to for bbq. If you're in a "meaty" mood, the prime rib is outstanding and the ribeye (offered as a special) is a standout. read more

What a cool vibe this place has! I love the theme and decor. The bar area is huge! Sara was awesome and had a great attitude. She gave my wife and I some great suggestions. I was also very impressed by their bourbon selection. They had all of my favorites from the Buffalo Trace distillery, which are very hard to find in a restaurant in NH. I had Wellers 12 and Stagg Jr neat which I really enjoyed. My wife got their cowboy coffee which was ok not great (def nowhere near as good as Stella's espresso martini). We also tried some 4oz pours of their beers which neither one of us was really impressed with. The bbq food was really good! We started with some smoked brisket nachos. This is a great sharing app with lots of flavor, and I love how they spread the nachos out instead of towering the nachos. It was a great additional touch. For dinner I had to try their bbq and was extremely impressed! I got the half platter and would highly recommend it! My wife wasn't as big of a fan of the menu as most of the menu was pretty heavy and she wanted something lighter like a salad with grilled chicken or some light veggies which they really don't have. She ended up getting the cowgirl Cobb salad which she said was ok. Overall, the service, the atmosphere, the food, and the drinks I'll definitely be back. This place is a fun country place to go to. There is a huge bar in the center (holds over 100, I'm told) and country music videos play on big screens all around the place. Food is southern and excellent. If you get the nachos with brisket, it's more than enough for a meal for two - the waiter steered us properly there! Food was horrible, dried brisket, chicken app that may have come for a bag at the big box stores and a burger not much better than a fast food place at 4X the price. Hot mess fries were just that, a wet mush that was more like mashed than fries. not sure what they were going for with the decor but other than some interesting wall decor the place comes off like a cafeteria with hard uncomfortable chairs and I want to be beer garden tables. the one star was for decent in house brewed beer and the service was good. My husband and I shared the cowboy platter and hands down this was the best barbecue recently. The brisket was melt in your mouth good Smokey flavor. The ribs were easily fall off the bone and the pulled pork also delish. The coleslaw was excellent, and the baked beans were good, they had a tomato based sauce. Disappointed. We are big fans of Buckley's and Surf, and were excited for a new addition to Michael Buckley's portfolio. The cowboy/western theme feels very odd and out of place on 101A in Nashua, NH. It feels forced and contrived (because that's what it is.) I tried a sampling of 4 of their beers and was not impressed by any of them. For food we had the Smoked BBQ Wings, as well as the nachos. The wings were pretty flavorless. The nachos were the best thing we had- and nachos are a pretty low bar. The service was absolutely fine- friendly and attentive. No gripes there. Overall the place feels like something a venture capitalist group would come up with based on marketing research, not like a restaurant that was well thought out by a talented restauranteur. Was excited to come here after the hype online. We got the burnt ends as an appetizer which comes with cornbread and was disappointed to see that the cornbread was under the burnt ends acting as a sponge for the bbq sauce. No butter on the cornbread either which was the driest, most crumbly piece of cornbread I've ever had. Couldn't even pick it up with a fork because it would crumble apart. Zero flavor, just not good. Burnt ends were also weird, mostly fat and not caramelized like burnt ends should be, just overcooked meat with excess fat. The sauce also had a weird flavor like there was too much liquid smoke added. Chicken and waffles were not good. The chicken was overcooked, super dry, and had the texture of a jerky. I also don't know what is with this recipe of fried chicken with zero breading or seasoning. Its not good at all, whoever made the decision to cook chicken like that should have had someone taste it first, yuck. This was just incredibly disappointing as this dish is difficult to mess up. Weirdly my fried egg also had zero yolk in it. The waffle itself was good. We also got a side of sweet potato fries which were soggy and had a ton of garlic flavor on them. Leave them alone.
