First, I have to admit that I have been following Uncle Josh from one tattoo parlor to the next for 10 years of great tattoos. His undeniable skill for art and ink is astonishing and beautiful, you can view it everywhere when you enter the parlor. Second, I can't be happier that he is now located centrally from anywhere in the Valley but quite close to me. If you want good, clean and artistic work, this is the place to go! Not only do I love Uncle Josh, quite literally as we have become friends over these many years, but I have also had a few chances to meet Paul, The Italian Sparrow, to watch him draw or tattoo and who is also an amazing stand-up guy and fantastic artist. I can only do my best to express how highly I recommend both of these men, this very convenient location (not far off of the I-17 and Indian School Rd.) and the unbelievably open scheduling they accommodate. A few weeks ago I sat through a grueling back piece, by far the biggest I've gotten to date, that Uncle Josh not only sat through with me for the hours it took him to complete it but he chatted with me, coached me through the pain of that moment and gave me a lifelong piece of art I will love always. *For you new-to-tattoo folks, it doesn't hurt anymore, at all. I came with my sister (who highly recommended Josh) to her tattoo appointment. After my sister's sitting, Josh (the owner) was willing to do my tattoo despite my not having an appointment. We had a brief consultation and I felt comfortable with the process. After consulting pictures of flowers for reference, Josh free handed my design on to get the flow of the piece. From the Sharpie lines on my arm, it was difficult to envision the final result. Through a roughed out sketch on my arm and a wickedly talented artist, a beautiful piece was born. I am so pleased with how my tattoo turned out! Josh is an amazing artist. The delicate lines, details and shading are exactly what I had pictured in my mind. Josh told us every tattoo is important to him and that definitely shows in his work. I am so happy with the artwork done at Lost Dutchman Tattoo. Josh at Lost Dutchman Tattoo is amazing. I came in with a concept for my first tattoo, and he followed it to a T. He drew it up custom in an illustrative style, and wouldn't start the needlework until I gave full approval. All along the way he not only welcomed feedback, he regularly asked for it. Doing the actual tattoo, he was fast, but also extremely skilled. He perfectly matched the colors I showed him from an example. The best part of all were the great conversations we had while he worked, which distracted me from the pain. Uncle Josh and Angela are extremely friendly and professional. Definitely not the douche artist that can be intimidating to approach. I first spoke with Uncle Josh who then referred me over to Angela...I so appreciated that he wanted me to work with the best artist based on the type of tattoo I wanted! She made me feel comfortable while we collaborated and she assured me she wanted to help give me the best tattoo possible. Angela Koscal is fantastic! I completely recommend her to anyone. She can do all different forms of tattoos, from portraits to realism. Angela has done a majority of the work I have had done, including a leg sleeve, two half sleeves on each arm and the majority of my back piece. She is great to work with as well. Every time I had brought something to her we work together to make it a masterpiece and it is just that once she is done with it. I love this Shop. I was lucky enough to have custom work done By Sarah. She made me feel right at home and started working on my piece shortly after I arrived. The shop it's self is relaxed and very clean, I was comfortable from the second I walked in the door. Sarah did a amazing job on my tattoo, she was quick but also took her time to pay attention to the smallest details. Sarah is funny and upbeat while making sure I was doing ok and not in pain. For ages I have wanted an American Traditional tattoo. Beyond happy that Uncle Josh is the artist I found for the job. He took my basic idea and together we (mostly him) designed an amazing piece. In addition to being a fantastic artist his customer service is top notch. His laid back demeanor and relaxed style will put even the most nervous canvas at ease. As an older guy I was a little hesitant to get my first tattoo but Uncle Josh was really helpful and as two former sailors we had a lot to talk about while he worked on my shoulder piece. The shop is very clean and they take all the necessary safety precautions and as far as the art/work goes I think it speaks for itself. They take their time and make sure you are 100% on board with what they come up with before starting. This shop is fantastic! Was sent to Uncle Josh by a friend and so happy I went! The shop is extremely clean. Uncle Josh is very calming, and informative. I got a wrist tattoo 12 years back and he did an amazing cover up for me. The original tattoo was meaningful, but poorly chosen and poorly done. Uncle josh does an amazing job at making sure everything if perfect and makes sure you're satisfied with the sketch and the placing of the tattoo before he starts. He is very outgoing and makes sure you're 100% comfortable. The shop is very clean and friendly. I would highly recommend going there. Wow, Great experience! Angela at the Lost Dutchman Tattoo is an amazing artist. The idea in my head was far surpassed by the artwork on my arm. She patiently adjusted the stencil until it was in the perfect spot. She took her time on all the detail and made sure I was comfortable throughout the session.
