The interior reminded us so much of some of the Philly bars we loved & miss - long & narrow with great high ceilings, exposed brick, & old wooden details. I love going here for Taco Tuesdays! You really can't beat delicious tacos for $2 each (rotating flavor each week, can call ahead the day of to find out the special of the day) - with a side of perfectly fried fries. My friends and I usually sit at the bar although there is great table seating as well. The decor/vibe is classy and comfortable and they have great drink options with special deals during happy hour. We stopped in during a Sunday with lots of travel and errands for us. We came in right after they stopped serving brunch, but the brunch menu looked good. It's not a huge space, but they have a full bar and about 20 tables. Rustic wood, industrial metal, and ambient alternative music lend to a cool vibe, but they're family friendly and have a kids menu with some classic options. Kiddo got the grilled cheese and fries, which he loved. The adults got draft beers with our buffalo chicken wrap and wings and ribs. My buffalo chicken wrap was tasty and chock full of grilled chicken, and the asparagus I got on the side was tender and a bit buttery. The ribs my partner got were not the best. Found Lot 17 via Yelp when looking for somewhere for dinner with my mom last night. (I'm not in the Bloomfield area very often!) We came in a little before 6, and there was plenty of seating. You seat yourself at any open table or bar stools. Our server was great! She greeted us as she was bringing drinks to another table, acknowledging that she saw we sat down. She was working quite hard to make sure all of her tables were well taken care of. I had the sunrise burger, which was a 1/2# burger with bacon, fried egg, and cheddar cheese. It was giant! I really enjoyed it, although the egg made it quite messy. I ordered fries for my side, and I was actually a big fan because they reminded me of McDonald's fries (a weakness of mine!). They were thin, crispy, and hot. My mom ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese melt. She enjoyed her meal as well, but had a piece of undercooked bacon on her sandwich. She simply removed the bacon, I gave her some of mine (I had plenty), and all was well. Overall, I am happy with the experience we had and feel like Lot 17 is a solid choice for some good bar food in Bloomfield. read more

Honestly no clue how I have never reviewed Lot before. My brothers basically live here and I've been plenty of times. The food is always solid and the bartenders are friendly. It's a solid choice for a sit down place in Bloomfield and always a good spot for sporting events. One tip: wing night is Thursday but honestly I think these wings are some of the only ones worth full price. They're big and always on point. read more

Lot 17 was exactly what I expected from the photos. It is a trendy hipster interior that was actually quite smaller than expected. There was a large bar in the front half with six or so bigger group tables in the back. There are also some places to stand and set your drink on a ledge. It was about half full on a Friday night at 11. My boyfriend remarked as we bar crawled down Liberty Ave that "its funny how the prices increase as we move toward Lawrenceville". Prices were pretty much what I expected, a little over six dollars for each of our beers. After the tip I felt like my wallet was empty. Not necessarily worth the price if you just want to grab a beer. I did not get to try the food, though. read more

I love this place! First off, I've eaten indoors twice during Covid and the tables are socially distanced and there is hand sanitizer readily available for guests to use. More importantly, service is always very friendly and I love the food! The pretzel appetizer is delicious and the honey mustard that comes with it is amazing! I had the Orchard Salad, filled with candied pecans, blue cheese, craisons, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and mixed greens. I went for the lemon-garlic vinaigrette and it was delicious! Obviously homemade. Thinking I wanted something else, I ordered the Parmesan Wedges. These are clearly not homemade. Helpers had said they loved them, but my advice is skip them. The marinara was good, but the wedges were out of a box. The beer list is just ok. A couple local selections. I had a Victory Hazy IPA. THERE's about a dozen beers on tap, but most were not local unless you count Yuengling. The service was excellent. Pat was me waitress. Also the owner? Manager? (I guess), some guy came around several times to make sure I was ok and even brought my first beer.Atmosphere is old school wood bar with a large garage door opening in front and seating on the sidewalk. There was no wait on a Saturday night, but the food was very average. The waitress was nice, but she did not let my friend know that they charge additional fee for a drink on the rocks (ice fee), and he didn't see this until he got the check. The restaurant/waitress needs to be more transparent about this. My calamari appetizer was good, but nothing special. My fish tacos were okay, but the fish was over cooked and lacked flavor. My boyfriend got the jerk chicken sandwich but it lacked flavor. The bread with cheese sauce appetizer was very good. The portion sizes were large, which was a positive. read more

So, I really, really want to enjoy this bar. I've been there twice now, and gave it a second chance, because having been in the industry for years, I know there are off nights. Let's start with the good-- the sweet potato fries are fantastic. A nice salty and crispy exterior, still flavorful on the inside. I typically lean towards ranch for my fries, but the sauce they serve it with is great too. The staff also seems very nice to most customers, and it looked like they have some regulars they know well. Now for the 'meh' part of my review. I had the jalapeño steak wrap, which was still decent quality. But I like good food, and to me, I feel like I could've gotten something similar at a Sheetz and not have known the difference. When I went in, it wasn't very busy. I was relatively ignored by the bartender in comparison to the customers sitting next to me. I assume it was because they were an older couple and I was by myself. Can't say I haven't treated customers differently because I didn't imagine they'd tip well, but it's a bias I think we all need to work on in the industry, since we truly don't know what to expect. It is what it is, and I wasn't overly bothered by it because I know we all do it. And as for the truly negative-- I'd never buy a drink from here again that isn't a beer or wine, or whatever doesn't require the staff to make a drink. The first time I went, I came with five friends. Three of us had beers, three of us ordered cocktails. All three of our cocktails weren't made properly, from an old fashioned to the long island. These are very standard bar drinks, and whether it's the lack of ingredients or the lack of proportioning in the drinks, it's not great to go to a bar and expect at least a half decent cocktail and be served something that you only finish because you spent money on it instead of making it at home. I can name at least three more dive-y bars within five minutes of there that can make a better long island. Today I tested the waters some more and ordered a shot, a more uncommon drink, and one of the easiest drinks to make. To really compare, my uncommon drink (which lacked the necessary ingredients, which I expected) was better than my tequila soda. I didn't even try to finish that last one, it really just wasn't worth it. I'll also add that I specifically ordered tequilas I work with often, so I could come into it with a base expectation for the drinks. All in all, I really think this could be a good spot if you're not into cocktails, or if the staff put some more thought into the drinks they're making. I'll probably still remain hopeful and try again a few weeks or months from now. The food is good enough for a bar, as long as it has some better drinks to go with it-- because right now, I just don't really find it worth the price. read more

Really liked the food and will return! My boyfriend and I came here on a Friday night and the bar was busy but there were a few dining tables left. There wasn't a hostess nearby so we assumed that we sat ourself. It took a little to be greeted by the server but she had an obscene amount of tables to attend to- I'm assuming someone called off. I ordered the Orange Crush cocktail and it was really tasty and really strong. Also ordered the chicken nachos as an appetizer. They were definitely good but I think the salsa was jarred and not homemade - or it tasted like it. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with cajun fries and it didn't disappoint. I'm a little buffalo chicken obsessed and it had everything I was looking for. The chicken was tender and very lean, the buffalo sauce had to be homemade and tasted like it, and the ranch was my favorite. The Cajun fries were bomb and definitely have a nice kick to them. I wanted to give Lot 17 more stars but too many things service wise didn't go as we would have liked. The server was swamped and our orders weren't taken until well after we were ready. Groups who arrived after us had their orders taken before us. Another group was ordering beers (after we were told by our server she'd be right back to take our order) and she took their second beer order and retrieved the beers before even looking our way again. Should have only been here an hour, but were here for over an hour and a half. I had the coconut chicken salad which was AWESOME. The chicken was so crispy with a subtle sweetness. Overpriced at $13 though. Come on, with a tip I spent $16 total..for a salad at a bar restaurant! My friend had the blue cheese burger which she said was just OK. A decent spot in Bloomfield. A great place to watch games which is why I ended up here. They were pretty busy but despite this the service was surprisingly fast.
