Lot One has been on my list of restaurants to try for awhile and last night it finally happened. It has a very handsome, warm, industrial appeal to it. We came on a Friday, early evening, during happy hour. We ordered shishito peppers, crispy salt n' pepper chicken bites, Brussels sprouts and the Farmers Cheese. Wow! Lot One was everything I was hoping it would be. The Brussels Sprouts were cooked perfectly. I really liked how they were lightly charred on the outside. Those crispy little pieces of leaf are so delicious. The y were sprinkled with bacon bits and drizzled with a chipotle aioli which had a little kick of spice at the end. The Farmer's Cheese was light and buttery with a hint of sweetness from the honey. It was served with slices of toast. I would have loved to have a few apple wedges, strawberries and/or a variety of thin toasts with this cheese. The crispy salt n' pepper chicken bites were my favorite. These were one of the best chicken bites I've ever tried. They were so light - crispy on the outside and cooked perfectly on the inside. This is what I think of when I hear "popcorn chicken". The shishito peppers were the most basic of the appetizers but they were still good. I wish they had a little more of something to add pizazz. Our server was friendly and helpful. First visit to this restaurant. The menus is great.... Pretty much any type of craving you have.... this place has an option! There are burgers, sandwiches, salads, salmon, all barbecue meats with beans, coleslaw or other sides. They have street tacos and pasta options. The appetizer line up is also varied and yummy. They have several beers, delicious cocktails and a pretty impressive looking brunch menu as well. We ordered 3 different sandwiches and the salmon plate and the 2 meat barbecue plate with beans. I can say that after tasting each one, I'd order any one of them again. We had truffle tater-tots w/ truffle /mayo sauce with one of the sandwiches....Yes, you should get them too!! Really enjoyed this lovely restaurant! We were in town visiting my brother for a few days and he suggested we grab lunch here, being sure to put in a rez in advance so we could get on their side patio. The four of us were sat at a nice hightop, though it was the only table without an umbrella and let me tell ya, it was a high UV-rays kind of day. Our server, Cody was a gem - he not long realized it might be a tough spot for us to sit, as we had my four-month-old nephew along with us, and was quick to accommodate us to a new shady table. My sis-in-law recommended their classic chopped salad, and it did not disappoint! It was a nice combo of flavors, including the yummy diced dates that added a little sweetness. The chicken was grilled just right, and I loved the lemon tarragon vinaigrette dressing. My brother sung praises about his buffalo chicken wrap, and mom enjoyed the wedge salad. Our go-to place for cocktails and dinner or even the occasional brunch! Whenever we have visitors from out-of-town, we bring them to Lot One because the food is always delicious, the menu has a great variety of options, and the cocktails are so tasty! You can order Lot Que BBQ in addition to their house menu, even more variety to match your appetite. Their desserts are divine too - best carrot cake around and if you see the strawberry cake on the menu, save some room, you'll love it! The staff here is wonderful, and the restaurant has a comfortable vibe that's perfect for celebrations, catching up over cocktails (did I mention the awesome rotating cocktail menu? ) or just relaxing after a long day/week. The outdoor patio is lovely too. Reservations are recommended, especially if you're planning to head there for dinner, it can get busy during peak times. read more

Two of us went for lunch today, and we ordered a Cuban Havana sandwich and a Ruben sandwich. Both sandwiches had very little meat on them. These are sandwiches known for piling high with the meats, and at $17 & $15, respectively, they were far from worth those prices. We definitely did not get what we paid for. The Ruben had maybe 3 thin slices of meat, and I had to do a double take to make sure there was actually some on the sandwich. The Cuban mainly was bread with maybe a couple scoops of shredded pork and a slice of ham. Also, both sandwiches did not have a very appetizing presentation as they were built sloppy. I would call this a mid to upper-scale restaurant with nice ambiance, so you would expect much better than this. Although our waitress was friendly, I did tell her about it, and she just kind of laughed it off and didn't offer up any consolation. This made me suspicious as it seems maybe they are doing this to save money. I understand things are more expensive these days, and there are places to cut costs, but this was definitely not acceptable. When you have an obvious issue like this, a good restaurant will address it and handle it with the customer. Not just laugh it off and not offer a solution. I usually don't complain, but this was an obvious issue that needed to be addressed. Hopefully Lot One can look into this and address the issue before it happens to other people. read more

I grew up in Colorado, but I only found out about Lot One a few weeks ago -- I've definitely been missing out! Lot One has everything you'd look for in a modern restaurant: comprehensive menu, good food, and a full bar with plenty of drink options. I definitely also appreciated that they had options of indoor seating, outoor seating, and outdoor seating inside the tent area. Live music was also available the day we went and that was a nice touch as well! We chose to sit outdoors (not in the tent) and we were still able to hear the music -- just the right level of noise for allowing good conversation imo. The one downside of Lot One is that parking is very limited -- the lot in the back isn't very big, and if you can't get a spot there, you're left looking for street parking in the surrounding little neighborhood and it's not ideal for meeting up with a large group. Overall, I'd say check out Lot One if you're in the area! It's a good combination of the key items you look for in a modern American restaurant, and an easy choice if you're looking for a place to meet up with friends for dinner/ drinks. read more

Lot One is one of the VERY few places that has made the outside dining (due to COVID) work in the cold winter months. They even have seat pads and blankets, along with the heat they have blown into the tent. Although, I did like them before the outside dining restrictions. I've had a few of their mixed drinks, and every one of them has been fantastic! The most recent one I'm obsessed with is the Uncle Ted's Toddy, their spin on a hot toddy, and one of the best I've ever had! (Tip: It comes with a hot of whipped cream on the top, so if that's not your thing you can ask them to leave it off, or for a light amount) I haven't had dinner here yet, but I've had a few of their appetizers and sides. The Farmer's Cheese is excellent for those that like savory/sweet, and the Cheese Plate is a lovely, large potion of one (rotating) cheese. Both come toasted/grilled bread, and you should definitely ask for extra because it's so good! This past Friday I also tried a cup of their soup, which was Cream of Mushroom with microgreens (grown on in their garden the roof!). Amazing soup! Very rich, flavorful and filling. Of the sides, I've had the Parmesan Truffle Fries and the Garlic & Parmesan Smashers. You can't go wrong on these. Both are busting with flavor. (Both come with slivers of parmesan cheese on the top.) I've never had bad service here. Every single person working here has been wonderful so far. It makes me want to come back every week! We were visiting Denver from Los Angeles and decided to try this place as it was close to our hotel. Very casual restaurant located in what looks like a quite neighborhood. We had prior reservations which I highly recommend you do as this place can get packed sometimes. We were quickly seated and our server was Ivy. At first she seems distraught but I decided to strike a small conversation with her and her smile came back on. She had a long day. Take some time to talk to your waitress, it will brighten their day up. Drinks: Lavender gin cocktail : delicious. Floral taste, its either your thing or not. Food: Firecracker shrimp was AWESOME! I don't know if they used some sort of curry base but it had great flavor and a good sour kick which was probably from either citrus or vinegar. Definitely recommend this. Outstanding First of all I wish I had taken pictures. This was the only important shot. This place is awsome. We started with the script and grits. The grits were delicious and the shrimp were cooked perfect. Then I had the chicken and waffle. The chicken breast was super crisp and juicy and the waffle cooked perfect and soaked in real maple syrup. Soooo good. My son had the bacon omelet and it was so tasty. Heads up that the Que can run out of selections like the Turkey which was the case with us. Ordered the pastrami instead which was outstanding. My fiance & I had just moved to the Leyden Rock neighborhood a few weeks ago and we were in search of some restaurants that we can be regulars at. Sadly, the first restaurant we visited (Jacks) during 4th of July weekend (because Lot one was closed), was a terrible experience. We decided to try Lot One the following weekend and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals! We came Saturday evening with no reservations -luckily there were empty seats at the bar so we were able to snag those without a wait. Otherwise, I recommend making reservations! We started off with cocktails- my fiance ordered Smoked Maple Old Fashioned & I went with the bartenders craft cocktail of choice that was "fruity, strong & not sweet"- he nailed it!! My fiance ordered the Havana sandwich with truffle tots & I ordered the Lot One Burger cooked to Medium with Mac & Cheese. Both were PHENOMENAL! Havana sandwich was juicy & it was a nice twist to the Cubano. My burger was cooked to perfection. I never finish my mac & cheese because it tends to be too heavy for me but I finished every single bite of Lot One's mac & cheese- it was THAT good! We both literally licked our plates clean. I also love that the owner was the one who was serving the food. I went back to Lot One to pick up lunch during the coronavirus crisis. The online ordering process was easy. So was pick up. I was seriously impressed, especially since it was their first day serving lunch coronavirus style. They had the front coned off for pickup. I pulled up, someone came out wearing gloves and a mask and got my name. She came back with the food and drinks right away. No fuss, no muss. The food was delicious. They even had kids meals. And the manager followed up with my via email that same day to make sure everything was good. The prices for the to-go cocktails were so reasonable I had to give them a try. The lavender gin cocktail we got was delicious. If you are looking for lunch or dinner in Arvada, I highly recommend Lot One. read more

The good - the Brussels sprouts are really good. Get them. Food quality at this place is really inconsistent. We've been here three-times and once I had a good burger, next time I had a gristly steak, and our final time (this week) I had a nearly inedible burger. Service is pretty inattentive, and for some reason they default to a 22% tip on their card reader, which you can change, of course. As for the ambience, our experience has been that they try to fill a set of three-booths on the far wall first. One of the booths is literally 3-5 feet from the drink station with an obstructed view of the rest of the restaurant from one side of the table, and a view down the hallway leading to the kitchen from the other side. One-side of another of this group of booths just stares at a brick wall. Not great for atmosphere. I don't think we will be back, but this might a great place for drinks and apps. Wish we'd have tried that instead of expecting a neighborhood joint to provide a better dining experience. read more

We were a large party of 15 adults and 3 kids on a Saturday around 5pm. The staff was welcoming and gave us a few options for seating. We opted to take the outdoor seating area. This ended up being a great option, since it gave the kids some freedom to run about. Service: The service was phenomenal. I wish I had gotten the name of our server. He did an awesome job juggling our large party and even separating out the bill as people were coming and going at different times. He was friendly and maintained composed and upbeat during our entire 3 hours of entertaining friends and family. Food: The menu is small with a limited selection. We ordered the Blues Firecracker Shrimp and Zucchini Mushroom Caprese Bowl. The Shrimp was ok, but the Caprese Bowl was outstanding. First time eating at Lot One today & it was awesome! Tried to go in one time before at dinner time and did not have a reservation, the wait was long so we did not stay. Went to try again today for brunch and we were able to walk in without a wait. The food and drinks were delicious and the wait staff was very courteous. The smothered burrito was unfortunately not very smothered... way too light on the sauce. It's a thick and full burrito though. The grilled romaine lettuce Caesar salad didn't come with dressing. I had to ask for it. It was a large plate and very filling once I added shrimp- so much for a "light" meal. The Bloody Mary with bacon was like a meal in itself! Well done. Save your crappy, uncomfortable bar tables for those who don't have a reservation (or give that option on open table).
