The owner is very friendly and eager to pair you with a lobster of almost any size. We come here a few times a year so my wife can get a large lobster. They prepare the whole thing onsite. They cook it to perfection. There is no dining inside but that's ok. There's a bar next door that allows you to eat the meal inside so you have access to drinks and such. Great place to buy seafood to cook yourself. I was here 3 days before Mother's day and bought two 8oz lobster tails to cook Mother's day dinner for my wife. There was fresh, live, grilled lobster on the New Year's eve menu, but our local Lobster Pound was closed. So we ordered ahead from Lotsa for pickup in the afternoon. It was suggested we come after 1pm for a shorter line. This turned out to be a great suggestion. However, the traffic getting there was ridiculous - 50 minutes instead of a typical 30. I echo other comments about Covid safety and the lack of masks on staff and customers alike. When you're running 70,000+ cases a day, perhaps it's time to be a bit more cautious. But we can't hold these folks any more responsible than anyone else. We also ordered Clam Chowder which could have used more clams. In comparison to the chowder at The Lobster Pound, at least for this New England guy, it's the difference between four and five stars. Our lobsters were fresh and sized correctly, snd cooked up to perfection with some fresh Favia Charbone Chardonnay. These folks have a huge fresh seafood selection and customer service was top notch. So my husband and I just tried this place today. We read about it in the Taste publication. We liked that they offer to steam your shellfish for you and the Lobster was fresh. We tried the fresh Ahi Tuna and it was delicious. The reason for the 4star is because of the mask issue. It's a very small space and I overheard staff on the phone stating that they"get very busy" so why not wear them? I was shocked. No signage on the door about 6ft or mask. I don't get it ladies. Oh my goodness! Run, don't walk, to Lotsa Lobster! I just enjoyed an amazing meal from them, and have leftovers that will be perfect for tomorrow! I started with homemade clam chowder that is so creamy and delicious with lots of clams. I am a fan of clam chowder, and this one is not heavy as in too much cream. It is perfectly balanced and seasoned. I only wish I had gotten more in order to freeze it! My next course was steamed shrimp. How delicious these were: big and sweet and seasoned perfectly, dipped in the homemade cocktail sauce that had just the right amount of horseradish. It was so perfect that I was even using my crackers to dip into the cocktail sauce. What followed next was some amazing smoked mahi dip. With the perfect amount of smoke and seasoning, the mahi flavor shined. On a simple Wheat Thin, the flavors of the fish and seasoning were delightful. For the main dish, we enjoyed lobster with homemade summer salad. The lobster was steamed, cut perfectly out of the shell, and served with clarified butter. I cannot begin to describe to you the sweet flavor of this lobster! It did not even need the butter, but the clarified butter brought it to the next level. The homemade summer salad, which included small limas, garbanzos, tomatoes, onions, and a light dressing with what I tasted as cumin, was a perfect accompaniment to this light dinner. We had to follow this with the Key lime pie pie from Lotsa Lobster, and I only wish I had extra pie to eat another day! The filling was perfectly tart and sweet with a light dollop of whipped cream and a perfect graham cracker crust. I heard that their coconut cream pie was delicious also, but I'm not a fan of this flavor. I want more of all of these dishes so that I can enjoy them tomorrow! Shop local. Better off at Red Lobster in Bradenton; at least for the same price you get side dishes and meaty lobsters, plus drinks for two and you don't have to clean up any mess!!! I decided to try Lotsa Lobster because I heard they sold really fresh seafood and my brother was visiting and I wanted to prepare a special and healthy lunch. It as delicious. I bought some shrimp and salmon and broiled them in scampi sauce and served the seafood on a bed of greens with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing. The seafood was super fresh and flavorful. I bought a small container of clam chowder to try, and although it was very rich for my taste and contained potatoes (I personally don't like chunks of potato in soup but that's just me), it was very tasty with a lot of clams! I will certainly return to this shop for fresh seafood again soon. Maybe I'll try the lobster next. read more

I am so very disappointEd in a store that has a name Lots a Lobsta. I spent 200 dollars for 5 lobsters. They were to be females, nope they were males. They were steamed and when we opened the tails there was black poop, not roe. It's was disgusting. I would have taken a picture but I was hosting a party and didn't want to upset my company I have had lobster all over and NEVER had an an experience like this. there was nothing in the belly to eat ,it was over steamed never again. Visited the store today and while the customers in line were wearing masks the 3 employees touching and breathing on the seafood were not. I find it reckless and careless to serve food in the height of a pandemic with no disregard for customers Safety. I try to support many of the local restaurants and even cooks working in hot kitchens are wearing masks when serving food to the public. I will not return to this business due to owners careless and reckless health policies.
