So my husband and I just tried this place today. We read about it in the Taste publication. We liked that they offer to steam your shellfish for you and the Lobster was fresh. We tried the fresh Ahi Tuna and it was delicious. The reason for the 4star is because of the mask issue. It's a very small space and I overheard staff on the phone stating that they"get very busy" so why not wear them? I was shocked. No signage on the door about 6ft or mask. I don't get it ladies. Keep yourselves and your customers safe. We're all in this together.

Oh my goodness! Run, don't walk, to Lotsa Lobster! I just enjoyed an amazing meal from them, and have leftovers that will be perfect for tomorrow! I started with homemade clam chowder that is so creamy and delicious with lots of clams. I am a fan of clam chowder, and this one is not heavy as in too much cream. It is perfectly balanced and seasoned. I only wish I had gotten more in order to freeze it! My next course was steamed shrimp. How delicious these were: big and sweet and seasoned perfectly, dipped in the homemade cocktail sauce that had just the right amount of horseradish. It was so perfect that I was even using my crackers to dip into the cocktail sauce. What followed next was some amazing smoked mahi dip. With the perfect amount of smoke and seasoning, the mahi flavor shined. On a simple Wheat Thin, the flavors of the fish and seasoning were delightful. For the main dish, we enjoyed lobster with homemade summer salad. The lobster was steamed, cut perfectly out of the shell, and served with clarified butter. I cannot begin to describe to you the sweet flavor of this lobster! It did not even need the butter, but the clarified butter brought it to the next level. The homemade summer salad, which included small limas, garbanzos, tomatoes, onions, and a light dressing with what I tasted as cumin, was a perfect accompaniment to this light dinner. We had to follow this with the Key lime pie pie from Lotsa Lobster, and I only wish I had extra pie to eat another day! The filling was perfectly tart and sweet with a light dollop of whipped cream and a perfect graham cracker crust. I heard that their coconut cream pie was delicious also, but I'm not a fan of this flavor. I want more of all of these dishes so that I can enjoy them tomorrow! Shop local. Support small business.

We bought oysters and sea scallops twice during our visit to Casey Key. It was fresh and tasty.

Quality lobsters and shellfish. Lobsters were alive and kicking. Oysters ( blue point) were decent with one questionable per dozen.

It would be completely a miss on your map. We waited for a long time for a table, well past what we were quoted. There's not a lot of tables inside and a couple of bar seats. It is very small, we almost left, and the host said he would bring us food if we wanted to go next door and grab a drink. But it was well worth the wait. The host as well as our server were so friendly, so laid-back definitely beach vibes. They talked to us about how the owner was originally from upper Northeast came down and opened up the shop and they all were friends and worked together. You felt a great sense of a family to the staff. He recommended the grouper Reuben, which, maybe to some of you sounds kind of gross, but it was literally the best fish sandwich. I think I've ever had in my life. And i grew up on and still eat a lot of seafood. It was melted cheese. The fish was fresh. It was packed with fish, just enough sauerkraut and thousand Island to give it just a hint of Reuben. The fish remained the star and the bread was incredible too! The environment as you can see from my pictures it's just what you would expect a surf shack type of place to be and you literally could walk from the beach although we did drive after being at the beach all day. Highly highly recommend 10/10! Seek this place out if you're ever in Sarasota in Siesta Key Beach, it is the best and so fresh you won't regret it.

A few community tables so make sure you don't mind that. Service is a little gruff but that fits the vibe of this local fish market. We got the clam chowder, the peel and eat shrimp, and split a grouper sandwich, and a few beers. The clam chowder was tasty. Good meaty and creamy flavor. Comes out piping hot. The peel and eat shrimp was fantastic. Whatever sauce they use on it, a cajun, buttery, garlicky sauce was just amazing. Definitely worth getting if you like that kind of thing. The grouper sandwich was good. It needed a little bit of salt but I can see why this is a specialty here. Tender meat, good sauce. Definitely a top seafood spot if you're looking for something less tourist-y.

Yes, Turtles has all of that-and I'm so glad I found it by accident. I was restless one Friday and pointed the car south. I didn't plan to go to Siesta Key that day, but when I was in that area-and realized how long it had been since my last visit, I had to go. I tooled around a bit on the northern end that I'm more familiar with, then headed way south on the Key. That's where I found Turtles. With its beautiful setting-and a big ol' parking lot, I was immediately sold. There was lots of seating inside-with its happy, coastal vibe, but I chose the outdoor patio-which has two tiers-one covered, one not. It was late spring and I knew the days of comfy patio dining were coming to and end for awhile, so this was the time. Besides-it was even closer to the water. I ordered fish, which was fine... and a rumrunner, which wasn't. I will definitely switch up my order next time. The service was kind-but maybe a little slow. That's ok. You're so enchanted by the ambiance and so chill, it doesn't matter. This was instant vacation, less than two hours from home. Every glance in every direction was postcard pretty. I basked in it-and look forward to doing so again.

I thought the chicken was overcooked, but the sauce on the sandwich saved the day for it. Service was good. View was very nice. It's convenient after kayaking at turtle but I'll drive up the road next time.
