Easy check in. The place was quiet, the rooms fairly clean. Overall the Inn was dated and could use updating. The breakfast was minimal. Selection of two fruits, yogurt, tiny muffin; and coffee / tea. They could put a little more into the breakfast. The beachside location was excellent. My family and I loved this stay in Ormond Beach. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room had a king bed and a queen bed with the bathroom in between the beds made it feel like a two bedroom suite. Each bed had their own TV. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. The view from the balcony overlooked the pool and the ocean. The pool area was the best feature, we used the pool hours each day. Many good restaurants nearby and convenient to get to by car. We enjoyed the coffee in the morning, but the 'European Continental' was a disappointment. The muffins were tiny ,stale tasting and the yogurts were not that cold. It would've been more enjoyable with tastier breakfast items. We watched the sunrise each morning and that was worth the ocean view room. read more

Don't do it guys. Short version. Booked a room, they didnt have the room due to THEIR error and blamed it on Expedia, were rude and unhelpful, and tried to trick us into getting a huge downgrade at the same cost.... We reserved a Jacuzzi room with a beach view and they only had a no view double bed and we were hoping to see fireworks from our room on the beach. Long version. I was going to give this place a 1 star but one of the staff, after the manager left, was able to at least provide us with some good information about ideas for the area. We reserved a room through Expedia and when we arrived at the hotel, they had already given out our room. The Manager, after stating it was Expedia's fault slipped up and said the people from the previous night decided to extend their stay, and they allowed it. I wasn't upset until I heard this. They literally gave away our room. I waited to write this review due to being so upset at the time. They weren't even going to tell me my room wasn't available, they tried to just downgrade my room and not say anything. My wife actually noticed and said, "is this the room you reserved". The Manager, was extremely unhelpful and tried to get me to take the downgrade without any compensation or partial refund for the cost difference. He may have been having a bad day or something, but when I asked him why he let people stay an extra day when we had a reservation, he just walked away and told his other staff member to give us a refund or get us in a room. I opted for the refund, of course. When the manager left, the clerk apologized for the misunderstanding and by the way he was, I felt this may happen a lot. The clerk was helpful and refunded our account, he also stated we should contact Expedia and let them know what happened to ensure we were taken care of. He asked we not put his name in the review or when we contact Expedia, but if he reads his, I hope he knows he was doing a great job and saved them one star on this review. We were able to get another room at a different hotel last minute, but we were pretty upset we didn't get what we originally wanted and planned for. read more

The pictures make this place look way better than it is. Both of the employees were nice but the rooms... another story! When I climbed into bed, there was sand in it. Made me wonder if my sheets were even clean. Then I noticed I had a little visitor.... a giant cockroach! The room smelled funny and the floor was filthy. I let the front desk know about it and all they did was say they were going to call pest control. Some kind of compensation for this would have been nice. I've been here 45 minutes and I already want to leave. I am NOT picky with my hotel rooms by any means, especially when they're "budget," but for some reason, I feel as if this is the worst motel I've ever stayed in. I mean EVER. I paid for our one night prior to checking in, and was charged a separate $100 deposit that cost MORE THAN THE ACTUAL ROOM upon arrival?! I don't think I've ever paid a deposit on a hotel that had my card on file? So I'm already prepared to not get my $100 back. If I wanted to pay over $100 on a room I would have definitely picked a nicer place. We asked if we could have a room level floor because my dad is handicapped, and we ended up getting a second level floor. Not a big deal because there is an elevator, but we walked halfway across the parking lot because there's not enough sufficient parking, especially for handicapped people! So when we get to our room, it's hot and muggy... Only because the AC unit is BEHIND the bathroom door, far away from the beds... (see pics) it was cooling the side of the room that we aren't even sleeping in/spending time in. There is noticeable water damage to the table, and that's the first thing I noticed visibly when I walked in. The second thing being that both beds only had two pillows? And sorry pillows at that. All laying in some type of weird arrangement. (See pics again.) The only thing nice about this room is the bathroom, and I have yet to speak for that considering the fact that we haven't showered yet. We got a "courtyard view" b/c of the dog instead of a beach view thinking we would be closer for midnight potty break. -DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS, no where for them to potty but across a 4 LANE HWY or the beach! Everything is bricked or rocked in! -Courtyard View is a coke machine and parking lot NO GRASS ANYWHERE. -A/C's are not cold or blowing and STINK! -water damage everywhere (around shower head, ac unit, fridge, windows) - DIRTY rooms (dog hair everywhere), trash in corners, -busted bathroom sink, disgusting rusted microwave -2 electric burners (you have to ASK for eveything including pots/pans/dishes, etc) -I called and asked if they kitchenette room had a full size 12 cup coffee maker - they said yes! It was just a busted single serve tray machine with no tray or pods! -last straw were dirty beds and hair IN THE BEDS. (And UNDER the sheets!) Ok, I get it it's a budget place. We were not expecting nice- but we were expecting clean! When we left at sunrise the next day- cutting our trip an entire two days short, we noticed billing errors that will hopefully be rectified and the hotel DID adjust for the shorter trip. When asked "why", I sighed and just shared the room was not what we expected. They pressed for more explanations so I shared a few- but I was told "Those are only things upper management can fix. Too bad you did't get one of those rooms over there." (pointing to the beach). I said "yeah, we thought courtyard would be better for the dog." Seriously. We would have loved to be by all or friends beachside but they cost more and we wanted to have the kitchen to cook in and dog. What kind of crap is that? You're better off at a Super 8 motel than staying here. There is a lack of upkeep inside and out. The staff is not helpful as the front desk expected me to figure out how to make the TV work with a new remote she handed me saying I needed to program it without instructions. Included breakfast consist of an apple, a cupcake, and vendor coffee... not even fresh brewed. Basically, plan on eating breakfast elsewhere. Let's start by saying the grounds were beautiful... nice pool, hot tub was hot but jets did not work, fire pit was relaxing... but... this place is way over priced! And morning desk guy was rude. Breakfast was basically nothing... and my girlfriend forgot some clothes there and they would not mail them back... told us we had to mail them a box and pay for the postage... after we paid 700 dollars for a 3 day weekend. Shower is a rain on your head shower which is ok. Maid service was good so we left a tip. Oh...only 1 luggage cart??? Really??? My rating was 2.5 stars but I was not going to round up... so 2 stars it is... for the money I paid I could have stayed at the Wyndham ocean walk... this was certainly NOT the ocean walk by Wyndham... who ever reads this... there are better places ... not worth the price at the Lotus... Get there to check in, and they checked us in with two queens, street side. Didn't even tell us we weren't getting what we reserved. Then they blamed Expedia. Located in Ormond Beach just north of Daytona, Lotus Boutique is clean, updated, reasonably priced and located at a less congested section of this drivable Volusia county beach. The rooms have mini fridges with freezers large enough to accommodate a small bag of ice. They have minimalist bathrooms-sink, shower and toilet-but hey what more do you need to clean up after a day in the Florida sunshine?! There's a small kitchenette with microwave, stovetop, sink and two-seater table. Other amenities include iron, ironing board ( who irons at the beach???), blow dryer, pool towels, soaps, and TONS of electrical outlets, YES!! So you can charge your phone, tablet, laptop and dry your hair all at once! NO carpeting so there were NO musty odors, yay! There was an obnoxiously strong room deodorizer that I had to stow away in a cabinet for the weekend- it simply wasn't necessary. There's a very modest continental breakfast with muffins, fruit, yogurt, juice and hot beverages. From 5-7pm they serve wine, beer, cheese and crackers. There's a pool, hot tub and a fire pit. The shower at the beach entrance is broken BUT! There's a hose on the patio, you just have to look long and hard to discover it! Parking is another negative! If you manage to snag a spot in the lot, call Uber to go ANYWHERE once you've parked because the odds of finding a spot when you return are zero! Stay here, it's really ok! read more

The rooms were small but recently remodeled. There were multiple problems for me, they do not have enough parking and our phone in our room was assigned to room 206.....we were in room 219. HOWEVER, the biggest problem is their inability to document any conversations they have with customers. We drove almost 10 hrs arriving at about 230am. My wife had called and made arrangements for a late check out the next day. We had intended to sleep and the. Spend a few hours on the beach. We paid an extra $40 for this. I called down that morning just to cover this with them again and the staff on hand told me that if we did not check out by 10 am that I would be charged an additional $75. I tried to explain to them but they acted as if I was trying to pull a fast one on them. The man at the desk was very smug and told me they did not have any info documenting this. When I again asked him he smugly replied that he had been doing this long enough that he knew what to look for and that we did not have that agreement. He replies to me that we booked online and the booking agency may have agreed to a late checkout but the hotel did not and 10 am was checkout or face $75 charge. I asked him what the nightly rate was and he told me $99. Well I provided him a visual of the $139 charge on my bank card for the room and told him that was the additional we had paid for late checkout. Again he goes back to booking online......BUT WE DID NOT book online...My wife called and made reservations on the phone. Very unhappy with this establishment, Their desk attendant that morning was very arrogant and obnoxious AND VERY WRONG!!!!!!! Again, I did lose my temper with these people and I will never ever stay with them again and will tell others about how inefficient and arrogant they were. read more

UPDATE: We stayed at the Lotus again in June 2018. I decided to finally write to the owner of this property as a year and a half later the hurricane damage has not been fixed around the pool, and the elevator that they've been working on for more than a year is not complete. We never went to the pool area this time because there are hardly any chairs available. People are bringing their own umbrellas to the pool and the hot tub was filled with sand. The property is not being maintained to the level it once was. Plants, trees and fountains are neglected. It is very sad as we've had so many good memories here. As of this updated review I have not received a response from the owner who I wrote two weeks ago. We will not stay here again until I call to find out if anything has changed. Since this is a "boutique" hotel, unless it is maintained it basically just looks like all the other rundown beach hotels. It is unfortunate. At this price you can find other lodging in the area that is newer. read more

We've stayed here probably 5-6 times thru the years. Really cute boutique hotel. We've stayed in different rooms and have always been happy. This last time, it was not that great. Service was not that great, bed was really hard, rooms are starting to show wear and we are pretty sure we got sick from coffee machine in the lobby that serves all kinds of coffee, tea, mochas, etc. for the one machine ( maybe it's not cleaned regularly?). The heat did not work in our room and instead of switching our room, at first they gave us a plug in heater that would never have warmed the room. After back and forth a few times, they finally moved us to another room. Just a combination of little things that unfortunately added up to us deciding not to stay there anymore. Sad for us because that was our "go to" for a quick night away. Now we have to find a new place. read more

The only reason I'm not giving this 1 star is because I woke up the next day and realized I had survived (and the shower was pretty cool). However, front desk attendant was SO RUDE. I'm not sure if there was a culture difference/language barrier, or maybe she was just grouchy, but the woman running the front desk made me feel like I was a second grader getting scolded for not spelling my name correctly as I was filling out the pet agreement form. Absolutely no hospitality whatsoever. Room was okay, on the first floor which was nice for me and my dog, but the comforter was not clean and neither was anything really. Sand all over the floor, inadequate lighting, whole place felt a little sketchy. Key card constantly stopped working and I was stranded out in front of my room, at night, alone, waiting for someone to come and give me a new key. This was NOT the cute, little "luxurious" boutique hotel that booking.com convinced me it was, so maybe all of this is just coming from disappointment. This place is supposedly dog friendly, but there is ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE for your dog to use the bathroom. I expected at least a patch of grass, nope. Nothing. Beware! My experience was terrible. This place looked interesting and I wanted to check it out for some time so I went on their site and made a reservation which included a $100 deposit. Upon arriving to the lobby I was met with tbe distinct order of dust and mold and an angry lady working tbe front desk. She demanded I pay tbe full amount of tbe room as they had never received the deposit. I attempted to show her the deposit confirmation to which she retorted " I don't own this place" and obviously didn't care. Toake matters worse she also.tried to collect an additional $100 for "incidentals" along with double paying the deposit and tbe full room tariff. Clean and modern with a great view of the beach! I like that as long as you aren't loud, they don't close the pool and hot tub. You can walk out of the pool and onto the beach. The rooms had solid floors, so it stays clean and there isn't any musty smell, which after traveling for two weeks straight, means the world! I like that the sink area is outside of the shower and toilet area-it made it easy for me to get ready when the boy was showering. Lots of channels available for a hotel. There are 3 cons I can think of. 1. No elevator, which wasn't a big deal except when taking bags up and down the 3rd floor. 2. Breakfast is meager-yogurt, apples, muffins and an espresso machine. No waffle maker, no meats, nothing special. 3. It's far from most anything you would want to go to, so expect to drive. To preface this review, I have always worked in the hospitality industry and my partner owns a cleaning service that also cleans hotel rooms. We are not upity or anything like that - we just love staying at hotels but they have got to be clean at the very minimum especilly since we travel with our senior dog. I found this place online and the pictures looked great plus they were pet friendly. I sifted through some reviews and yes, some were not great but that comes with literally any hotel. I figured four stars works and it would be prety good. Check-in was easy and fast, although they left out information regarding the breakfast in the morning and the wifi information. Our room was a kind jacuzzi room with an ocean front view on the first floor. I saw some people had hammock like chairs hanging from their patio, unfortunatley that was not the case for our room. The view of the ocean was great and the pool was just a few steps from our room. When we walked in, it was a bit small because the jacuzzi takes away pretty much all of the room as it sits literally a foot away from the king size bed. That's fine, we can deal with tight spaces! The bathroom was a good size and had a walk in shower. The king bed was ok, I guess it could of been worse, but it had three really sad pillows on it. The bed also had two throw pillows on it that were dirty. The room has a desk (not in great coniditon) with a chair, a mini-fridge, microwave, makers, a three drawer dresser under the TV, and a closet (that was smelly, a hanger was missing, and housekeeping just tossed the laundry bag in there instead of folding it neatly like most other places). Also, the A/C unit in our room was leaking pretty heavily. We left to go to dinner and it was weighing on our minds that we could not stay at this hotel. We went back anyways trying to make the best of the situation, but then we took the risk of using the jacuzzi. The tub was dirty, the water was dirty - it was bad. I still regret actually getting in there. I felt more dirty and less relaxed when I got it and I will never use a hotel jacuzzi again. I can't quite describe the awful feeling of feeling stuff stick to you that was not a product of your fiflth - but someone elses. Not to mention the area around the jacuzzi ledge was also disgusting. I still hate myself for taking the chance. The only part of the room that appeared to be clean was the shower and toilet. The bedspread had minor stains on them (which can happen sometimes when sheets are folding with industrial machines, I get it). I never cared to lay under the actual sheets. We ended up checking out before we even stayed one full night. They charged us for the first night "we stayed" and we had paid full price for the sole purpose of having a jacuzzi tub. They did not really seem to be bothered by the fact that we were leaving or that the room was dirty. We were not asking for the world, but you could have given us half of the one night back. Yes, we used some things in the room but we did not trash the place and we did pay full price for something we could have gotten much cheaper online. Before we left, we spent 20 minutes or so trying to find another hotel to go to. The front desk person entered our room without knocking to "check the room" while we were still in there. It was really rude and strange. I know he wanted to check it to make sure we did not trash it, but also you did not seem considered about any of the other issues we reported about the room. The hotel itself is just dingy and a big sketchy. It's dimly lit and depressing - like something out of a movie that has a skeevy main character. I would not risk your vacation or getaway on this place. Luckily, I live close enough that we just drove home because all of the half decent places in Ormond or Daytona charge exurbant pet fees (considering my dog is old and sleeps 90% of the day, I'm not pay a $100 pet fee). We have contacted the hotel to speak with the manager about recieving a partial or full refund on the night we never stayed. read more

Whenever I come back to Daytona, this will be my go-to place to stay. I loved it that much. Location: This hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the Ocean Walk Shoppes. That may be the only down-side to it. The parking lot is very tight, be careful. There is a 7-Eleven and a liquor store right across the street. You may need to rent a car to get around. That was my mistake. I took an Uber everywhere. I even walked to Bonefish Grill because it was that close. Room: This hotel is the most modern looking hotel on the strip. It has an art- deco style with a lot of simplistic furniture in the rooms and the front desk. We stayed in room 208 which had the BEST view on the second floor. The view was amazing. You can literally walk down a few steps and your on the beach. It felt very intimate; like it was your own private entrance. It had one large window, which you should be mindful to close while getting undressed because the patios are shared, so people may walk by and see you. The windows are tinted though. The shower head was my favorite. You cannot smoke on the premises. The cleaning staff and housekeepers were just amazing. They are the best. Since it was too chilly during my stay, I didn't get the chance to utilize the heated hot tub or the pool. From the looks of it, everyone else seemed to be enjoying it. I used the fire pit several times. I usually used it at night and sat around talking to other couples, just laughing and having a good time. They shut down the fire pit at 11pm. They do not serve breakfast at all. They do have complimentary yogurts, muffins, and free coffee/water whenever you need it throughout the day. This is served in the lobby. I really loved the staff member, which I think was the owner, of the hotel. He was so sweet, and informative. He smiled a lot and was just super laid back. I wish I would have gotten his name. He was working non-stop from Friday- Sunday night .The reason I did not give this hotel 5 stars was because of the horrible customer service during checking out. This lady had a crappy attitude which left a sour taste in my mouth about this place. I asked her a simple question, and she gave me a sarcastic answer. I walked out. Lotus is a bright, shining beacon of hope in a foul land known as Daytona Beach. If you've ever stayed in the Daytona Beach area, you're familiar with the hotels there. They're usually old, falling apart, smell like cheese and often have people living in them. If you're lucky, the paper thin walls will give you free entertainment as you'll get to hear your neighbor getting lucky with the hooker he just picked up on A1A. I once stayed at a hotel in Daytona where I slept on top of the comforter, fully clothed and terrified as the walls came alive at night with roaches and silverfish, and I was too afraid to venture into the parking lot because of the rednecks out there who were drinking Natty Ice and lighting things on fire. Catch my drift? I was still hung up on Daytona because it's close to Orlando, cheap, and if you close your eyes and ignore the syringes on the sand then you can easily pretend you're somewhere much nicer. I was surprised to find Lotus on a hotel finder because it's brand new. A brand new hotel in Daytona Beach? I almost peed myself. The pictures of the place did not have any palm tree decor and seemed free of turquoise and pink, so I booked it. I arrived and did not want to leave. Lotus is brand new, clean, and modern. I ended up with a huge room that had a king sized bed, a full sized bed in a separate area, two LCD TVs, a full kitchen, an awesome shower with a waterfall shower head, and a private balcony that faced the ocean. Most importantly, it did not smell like dead hooker in the least. The hallways are exterior, which often skeeves me out, but they are so brightly lit that I didn't feel like I was going to be raped every night, a first for me in Daytona. The poolside area was also beautiful with a hot tub and a fire pit area. My biggest complaint here would be the pool, which seemed a bit on the small side. It was often overtaken by kids doing cannonballs, always with morbidly obese duh dads. I'm not a fan of children so I'd head down to the beach for a few hours until about 4 pm, the time duh dads tend to get hungry. The pool was always nicely warm. I'm not sure if it's heated or just filled with lots of fresh urine, but I appreciated it. They pump music into the pool area that's very calming, the kind of stuff you hear at Epcot with drum beats and calls of "ayaaaaaaaaaaah." The manager seemed like a nice guy. Not overly friendly, but he didn't spit on me and in Florida that sometimes speaks volumes. There's supposedly a free continental breakfast, but I didn't partake because waking up before noon on a vacation is sacrilegious. I've heard parking is an issue, but I didn't have any problems, thankfully, as the alternative is the scary, closed, and obviously haunted gift shop across the street. Their recent renovation has completely and utterly facelifted the place. There is not a hint of the previous left. It is more like an extreme makeover gone good, very good. This hotel is beautiful, clean and modern. From the pristine pool, hot tub, fire pit area to the landscaping...everything is new and shiny. There is a rain showerhead in the bathroom; the drapes are so pretty I thought about copying it at home. And the location just cannot be beat! It is right on the beach! We stayed in one of the cheaper "garden view" rooms. But it is only about 20yds from the pool and beach! Worst hotel ever.... had my reservation wrong took over an hour to check in then tried to charge for my service dog. Room flooded and I had to clean up the water then when they moved us it took over 3 hours to move so we lost entire day dealing with their rooms flooding and moving. They would not give a discount or help in anyway. The rooms were not clean well and the desk clerk was not helpful with anything. Juice machine broken soda machine broken TV didn't work. There was so much bad things it's to much to list. Don't stay here you will not be happy. read more

I found this place on Yelp based on reviews. After we checked in and got situated, I received a call from the front desk. They wanted to charge me extra for my kids. The room booked accommodates 5, which we are. I showed 2 upon booking (I guess that's my fault.) However, any other hotel would not charge you extra. We then booked and stayed at the Hard Rock down the street (way better.) Price came out cheaper (after what Lotus wanted to extort from me.) Oh, and the Hard Rock kicked it up a notch by giving me a veterans discount, bonus! Tried to give the little place business it back fired. read more

Compared to the $700+ for 2 nights at a rat infested hotel that a Hotel site booked us at. We found this hotel and we do not regret coming to the Lotus Inn. Hotel? Free WiFi, pool, fire pit to get warm or cook marshmallows, lounge area outside, staff are friendly and literally a few steps away from the beach? What can more ask for? Sadly, one of the flaws is the parking. Parking? Well, they have limited parking spots in the front but they do have parking in the back, but because people are lazy, people double park in the front and it will almost become impossible to get out (I said almost because I got my friends Lexus out, I don't know how...). Because of this, you will probably need to take a Uber/Lyft. Take your car and you probably won't have the car spot anymore, if so, don't double park, don't be 'that' guy. Rooms? The rooms we're top notch. For one, the rooms have an HD flatscreen TV (limited channels of course, but they do have Showtime). Cold AC and the best thing about the rooms is the showers, the shower head releasing the amount of water pressure on your head (for a hotel) and with that, you can literally fall asleep in the shower. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. The Manager Daxon walked into the office already raising her voice at us. We called the evening before to confirm that we would be able to check in as we landed here at 7am. The male we spoke to on the phone confirmed that we would be able too. Low and behold we show up here and cannot check in. The manager then proceeded to try to explain to us that this is "how she talked" and some people "think she's unprofessional". She also then tried to explain to us that she's the owner of the establishment which I find hard to believe. Trust the other reviews. You will not be happy here. read more

Love this small, swanky hotel! I've stayed here multiple times, as much as 2 weeks in one stay. Very very clean, updated! Pool, fire pit and hot tub gets 5 stars everytime. Front desk staff is friendly. Never had a parking issue. Breakfast is muffins and coffee maker is the bomb in the lobby. Lobby bathrooms were always clean. I'm going to stay here EVERY TIME! Plus, it looks EXACTLY like the pictures . read more

Front desk could use some customer service training. Rather rude and doesn't really seem to care that you are there. Pool area is really nice but closes at dusk. Coffee pot had probably never been cleaned. Bottom was caked in mold. Hate to know how many people have made coffee in it and never looked to see if to was clean. This is the main reason for the low rating. read more

Hotel Kinda O.K. (not really) / Beach is NOT Pet Friendly The good: 1. Clean but not as clean as a lot of people are touting (but that's the beach life) 2. Nice shower, big, clean 3. Some rooms have kitchenettes but beware of what'sd NOT mentioned on the website 4. Nice pool / fire pit area / clean pool & spa 5. Decent continental breakfast 6. Pretty beach The bad: 1. Hotel promised by phone that the room we rented had a kitchenette to include a stove, OVEN, and microwave oven. No Oven. No dishes, no utensils, not even a roll of paper towels. You would think........ 2. Two days in a row our room was cleaned at about 4:00PM. Not acceptable. The first day they simply made the bed with the same sheets. After 2 more days of this, , I stripped the bed and pillow cases and put them with the wet, dirty towels on the floor by the front door. They put the same sheets / pillow cases back on the bed and pillows. Not acceptable. Not at all. Thus, this scathing displeasure with this establishment. 3. The inn IS "pet friendly" but they do not provide a place for pets to do their business!!! Who thought of THAT one? 4. Furthermore, ALL OF THE BEACHES IN ORMOND BEACH AND DAYTONA BEACH ARE NOT PET FRIENDLY. So, there is nowhere to walk your pet except on the beach. So, you have to sneak out to the beach before about 7:30AM or after about 6:30PM so the beach pet police don't castigate you with their nonsense. We took our dog to the beach and picked up her poop each time, some people were "foot wedging" the poop into the sand. NONE OF THIS PET FRIENDLY STUFF IS ON THE LOTUS INN WEBSITE SO BEWARE. 5. A couple of other things not spelled out clearly on their site:.......No elevator even though there are only 3 floors. Not a biggie but...., Very little parking. If you're going there on the weekend, be prepared to possibly have to park across a busy avenue ( A1A ). All of this said, the folks that run the place are pleasant enough but they really have not built a convenient place to stay. (at very least, they have not divulged enough info for a savvy trip advisor devotee to make a fully informed decision) Overall, this place was not o.k. with us. We made the best of a ridiculous situation but we will not be back to Ormond Beach or anywhere else near Daytona Beach. For a nice alternative, try somewhere around St. Augustine or New Smyrna, although these beaches are not pet friendly either. New Smyrna has one at a state park but it's not a terribly convenient situation there either. You have to walk quite a ways to get to the beach. If you are with family or friends that are a bit older of not as fit, they may have a hard time with the trek. We think Florida is slowly turning into California and the Ormond / Daytona Beach area beat everyone else to the punch. My wife's especially disappointed since she's originally from there. Think Belize or any number of other places other than a place that cannot count chads or provide a place for our pet to poop. Doh! read more

This quiet little gem has a lovely pool area with a fire pit and cabanas. I like the cool modern design and continental breakfast. Order in dinner and then just relax on the beach. Wine is available in the lobby. Lotus is my fave beach escape. read more
