So excited to say I made it ALL this way to get me some crack sauce. Arrived right as the restaurant opened and it was already getting busy. Was able to order quickly as the product was in stock in their cold case. $12 each. Lotus Seafood has several locations in the Houston area. They're known for their signature "Crack Sauce," a garlicky, buttery sauce that smacks. I can't speak to the food, but with the social media mayhem that's what drew me in for a couple of containers (while vacationing). The eye catching bottle and style looks like a Medical Amber Bottle and as the label suggests it's highly addictive to be polite. (see pic) LOL Can't wait to try it! Yeah 10/10. I ordered crab legs and boiled eggs on DoorDash. My driver was an hour late and my food was cold. (This is no fault of the restaurant) Even late and cold, the food was outstanding. Genuinely some of the best crab I've had. I can't imagine what the food is like when it's fresh. I'll be ordering from here again and again. Visited Houston for Thanksgiving Holiday. My daughter suggested we try Lotus Seafood. Apparently there are other Location however they aren't all created equal. Food- Awful, you have to pay extra to have shrimp devained. Like really! who eats shrimp with poop in it. The spice level had just the right kick, and everything was seasoned perfectly. The fried fish came out crispy and fresh, not greasy at all. The chef was " chefing" when I went a few days ago! Because my food was so hot and fresh! And packaged wonderfully! I even made a few stops on my way home! The food was still extremely hot! I was excited to return! And try something different because my last experience wasn't the best. This time I ordered with ease! My wait time was not long at all! The customer service is unprofessional. While we ordered the person taking our order was talking with coworkers and asked us to repeat our order multiple times. The inside is dirty the walls are dirty. NOT ALL LOTUS LOCATIONS ARE CREATED EQUALLY! We love lotus in sugarland. Here you have to pay to have your shrimp deveined which really blows my mind as it feels unsanitary to not devein the shrimp. Very disappointed in this location. Quality of food matches the other lotus locations however, this is not a sit down and eat kind of restaurant like the other locations that Lotus has renovated around Houston. There is no alcohol here and you cannot order online for some reason at this location. Every time I come, the line is usually out the door no matter what time of day. Be prepared to wait at least 20 to 30 minutes for your food after ordering and I wouldn't come here with a big group expecting to dine in the restaurant gets very cramped. read more

I figured I'm there, so why not get the fully loaded loud pack that will also give you corn, potato, sausage and boiled egg. Fyi, that's singular usage because you do get 1 of each. This $21 plate is decently boiled shrimp on top of a combination fried rice, with the aforementioned ingredients above. Price to portion size is way off. What's most disappointing for a flavor seeker like myself, this was just a slightly spicy food item. There was no flavor to it all. The crack sauce was underwhelming as well. It's just a butter sauce. If you want decently prepared food that will give you a little spice/heat kick while you eat it, then this is your place. If you are looking for flavor in your food, you may want to skip this place. The lemon pepper wings were average to me as well. Maybe it's me. Maybe I just don't get this place. I have been coming here since high school, I always pick up a plate when I visit home now. This location is closest to me but I learned the loud pack is bigger for the same price compared to other places so that's another reason I'm not visiting their other branches. The wait can vary so bare with them. I used to wait like 30 minutes for my food but now when I visit, it'll be 15 minutes and maybe less. Could be that I'm coming in at random times and not as frequently to remember but I'm never much in a rush and it's always fresh. And it distracts me that I go next door for some tea. The tables can get crowded with those who wish to eat in or they can be dirty from previous patrons which is my only tiff about the place. They've gotten up to speed with the other locations in terms of extras and different food which is great, you're not losing out on certain menu items coming here. Don't get me wrong, lotus seafood will always be a delicious choice. However compared to other locations, I find this location not meeting the usual high expectations I have for this local chain. Usually I come to lotus for their amazing seafood options. Although the meal was still tasty, I find the flavors and quality of the seafood broils here to be slightly off from others. Now in contrast, this location had the best fried rice out of all locations I have previously tried. Just depends on your mood and tastebuds. Been going to this location for years. I have never bought the fried catfish, always just fried rice, wings and maybe lobster and egg rolls, things like that. I bought the catfish and shrimp plate on and that is not catfish it swai. Y'all please just advertise swai because I had a strong feeling it wouldn't e catfish but my mom wanted it. So decided to try this place out. It got packed right after I got there. We got the fried lobster fried rice. It's a very large lobster tail! And the rice with the crawfish was great! We also got two clusters of crab with potato egg corn and sausage. It was very flavorful. However when I got a pound of crawfish they were all very mushy. Like they were sitting in the water to long. And the shrimp deal they have from 2pm-5pm is a great deal however our shrimp was slightly over cooked. But I'll deff be coming back . Over all pretty good food. read more

Now I ordered catfish and what I got was far from it I'm thinking it was one of the fish types that's always given in lue of actually providing the catfish that listed. Okay so the wait for this place is long. If you're hungry try to call in before arriving. But we waited inside and about 45 mins later received our order. We got back to our hotel and at first the shrimp fried rice was very tasteless, nothing fancy about it; I added the garlic sauce to it and now it's 1000x better. Ok, I came into this with very high expectations - which may be skewing my rating a little lower. I got the Fully Loud Pack for myself and the Loud Pack for my daughter. Everything was good, we enjoyed the meal. Was it life-changing? No. Would I wait an hour for it? Hell to the no. Any sauce that is going to be referred to as "crack sauce" has got to deliver, and deliver big time. That did not happen here. Again, the sauce was good but it wasn't very crack-ish. A better name for the sauce would be "spicy butter sauce". That name would have set an appropriate expectation for the pleasant, but not deliciously addictive, dining experience I had. This Lotus Seafood is the same as the location on Kirkwood south of Westheimer where I have eaten before. Same menu and same food but I don't like this location as much. Here it's just an open room with tables and chairs and I think of this place as more of a to go restaurant than one to sit down and enjoy a god meal. I ordered the Loud Pack for $13.99 which is one of the most expensive meals on the menu. I had them add an extra container of 'crack sauce' for $ .50 which is their garlic butter sauce. My food took about 20-25 minutes to come out. All meals are served in to go containers and mine was chocked full of crawfish rice with about 9-10 shrimp on top. This is easily enough food for two people. Taking the one crack sauce that comes with the meal and the extra one I purchased, I poured them over the rice. The food was very good and with the nicely boiled shrimp and all of that crawfish rice made for an enjoyable meal and was probably a million calories! They also have many fried seafood entrees here. I like Lotus Seafood but remember the wait times for the food can be long, if you get the Loud Pack you will want to order an extra crack sauce and this meal is enough for two, and if you come here you will probably not want to eat it there.
