We have been on the Route 66 100th Anniversary Road Trip from California. Couldn't wait to try a true deep-dish pizza and all fingers pointed to Lou Malnati's. Got the large Deep Dish Chicago Classic and unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. I left a review stating our disappointment. Within a day, I heard from a representative from Malnati's who apologized for not meeting our expectation's, thanked me for my honesty (which I truly appreciated) and wanted to make sure that before we left the area, wanted us to have a better experience with their food. In my first review, I had not mentioned that we had also gotten their Malnati's Salad which we really enjoyed. We got the family-sized salad and it was huge. Romaine lettuce, fresh tomatoes, black olives, tons of mushrooms and salami bits with gorgonzola cheese tossed with their Sweet Vinaigrette and Romano cheese. So good! So tonight, we had our second meal from Malnati's. We once again got that yummy salad we liked so much. We also decided to try their Bruschetta and their Three-Cheese Bread to go with our salad. They were both great. The Three-Cheese Bread was nicely cover with the cheeses and came with a red dipping sauce and was an ample portion. The Bruschetta had the toasted garlic rounds and the topping was in a separate bowl so we could make our own pieces fresh so they wouldn't get soggy. So I'm happy to change my review and say that we really enjoyed our dining experience with Malnati's. We also appreciate the effort and care that went into making sure we had a positive experience. Their staff couldn't have been more helpful with their service, all the food was tasty and fresh and it was so nice to have such great customer service, which could be called, "concern for customers". Thank you Malnati's, we'll get another pizza next time. read more

So I have always ordered deep dish from here and have never been disappointed, but today I wanted to try something new. Ordered the bbq chicken thin crust . I ordered the small and expected it to be at least 12in. I was very wrong . It should be advertised as a personal size not a small. After cutting it , it was 4 pieces for almost 20$. So disappointed!!! I came here years ago from California and Lou Malnati's was my favorite deep dish pizza in the area... 10 years later I ordered a large pizza and wings to be delivered. 85.00 dollars later it was the worst. Half of the top of the pizza slipped off into the box. The wings didn't even have any of the side condiments (celery & Gorgonzola dressing) that were suppose to be included. So disappointing. I have given this Lou Malnati's several chances and they let you down every time. Today I ordered a small pizza with wings. The pizza was drowning in grease. Even with several paper towels, there was still a pool of grease. The buffalo wings had a little bit of sauce on the bottom and were otherwise not even touched. Really let me down every single time. I never have these issues at other locations. I'm not one to give negative reviews, but this place can't seem to get it right. No quality control whatsoever. read more

Lately every time I come into the (Shorewood)/Joliet lose it's a problem. Struggled to work their website and I just don't know what the problem is... I'm not computer illiterate. So, I had a problem today on the website, so I called in and the guy took my card number and placed the order for me for the pizza. I come in I'm waiting waiting and the lady finally says can I help you and I told her and she goes oh yeah somebody will be here to bring your pizza out. So I wait another 10 minutes and . Here comes the general manager saying I'm sorry we did not make the pizza and I said why? and he said I can't answer that , and I said well what are my options ? he goes well it'll take 25 minutes to make another one . I just rolled my eyes, and said just give me a refund. I'm not ruling out all the Lou Malnatis.. just Joliet/Shorewood. It just within the last year, they've gone tremendously downhill . And the funny thing is, the food is not that bad. it's not the same as in the north /northwest suburbs or in the city but it's still decent I give it a 3 1/2 -4 for food . But, they redesigned the website recently, and it's terrible to work, and they reeled me in with this cheap pizza 19.71 for medium special but Joliet/Shorewood? The large thin crust pizza was very good, and ready for pickup right on time. However, I ordered half sausage, half pepperoni. I was charged the full price of $3.70 for both the sausage and pepperoni. So by my calculations, I was overcharged by $3.70. That may not sound like much, but order 10 pizzas and you're overcharged by $37, more than the price of that large pizza. The girl at the register said there was no way to correct it. I can think of a way: don't charge me full price for both toppings. Charge me full price for one ingredient, or get someone to program your cash register to charge correctly. If you don't have to order from this location for delivery please don't . The only reason we do is because it's the only one that will deliver to us, we will usually pick up if we could so that we dont get anything messed up. They always forget something or can't help you with something. When delivered, something is ALWAYS missing or wrong. Happened to us multiple times and they say they will "add a credit" and never do, or next time ordering they will say they don't see a credit or the managers name that put the credit "doesn't work there anymore".... I've been going to Lou's for at least 15 years. (Downtown on Wells). I've been ordering from the one out here in Plainfield since they opened. It's my favorite pizza hands down. Until this evening. I ordered a large sausage and mushroom and a medium pepperoni. $60 and an hour later I opened the boxes and what I saw was not Lou's. Or the old Lou's anyway. There was hardly any sauce, there was a minimal amount of cheese, and the mushroom and sausage was spread pretty thin too. The taste was of crust mostly. This is absolutely unacceptable. I don't mind paying the inflated premium (Lou's is typically more expensive) but now I'm paying even MORE and getting less. It's not Lou's, it's boo's. I'm offended honestly. I have been a regular customer at this location for a long time and tonight I made the decision that I will never come back after how I was treated by the manager. I ordered through the app and there was an obvious glitch and my order was wrong. The manager told me there was nothing she can do and I wñulg have to eat a pizza type I don't eat. I was told to reorder and "deal with your mistake". So I Tried the "mistake" pizza and it was drier than dirt and disgusting. When I went in to request a refund the manger came out yelling and was very rude saying she will not give me a refund. When asked if they don't do refunds she stated, "not for you". When I told her I was recording and to repeat what she just said she walked to the back and said she was done talking to me and to leave. So I left. Although I like Lou Malnati's pizza, this time it was a little different since I was ordering to eat with my Mom who is very particular about the veggies, especially the tomatoes. She likes deep dish so I knew that part would be a winner. The no-touch carry out went smoothly as we called them once we pulled up. Once the pizza made it home - 15 minutes - later, the real review from my 79 year old - old school mom were excellent. She especially noted the excellent tomato's with the right sweetness and not the sugary kind. One thing she would change is getting a darker crust. But this is a matter of personal preference. We ordered crust by choosing "Just Right" on the menu. There is a darker option which adds 5 minutes to the cooking time for those who are interested. Probably what I'll do next time. A new family favorite at my parents place. Just wish it was a little closer to their place and didn't have to drive to Shorewood. read more

Love lou malnati's since first experience in 6/95 at buffalo grove location. But I am now very disappointed. They are over priced and cheapening the product. The sausage patty on the large belongs on a a small. I am paying for a premium product and your playing games with increasing price and downsizing product.
