EXCELLENT! I did not expect to find something like this in a small small town. We were on our way…read moreto college station and wanted to get something to eat as we got closer to our destination. We checked Yelp for something other than Mexican food and this place had really great reviews. As soon as we walked it we knew it was going to be good. The menu isn't too large, which to me meant that they have spent a lot of time perfecting the things that are on the menu. The service was really good and as soon as we sat down, we ordered a couple of sodas and the Boudin balls. We took a couple minutes to look at the menu and everything looked really good, but the spicy chicken sandwich was really calling out to both of us. So we ordered those one with potato salad and one with rice. The Boudin balls were delicious. They were pretty large in size and the sauce that it came with had a little bit of a kick to it. My favorite thing was that it was mostly meat on the inside and the flavor was incredible. Same with the chicken sandwich. It also had a kick and by the time I was done my mouth was pretty warm. I thought the potato salad was a great way to help cool it off, and it was just as good as the sandwich. I loved the batter on the chicken, and I thought the bun was toasted perfectly. This would be a place I would go to regularly if I lived in the area. Parking was pretty tight and most of the spots were taken up so we did park in a spot we weren't supposed to, but luckily we didn't get towed!

Whew! I'm a Mississippi native so Louisiana is like our great aunt and New Orleans is our first…read morecousin. I knew when we pulled up the food was going to be good. When I tell you the spirit of Louisiana and NOLA was in the place! So you will miss the place if you aren't paying attention. The sign is small and the building looks like it used to be a church fellowship hall. It's not fancy and it's small, however, don't discount it. Don't judge a book by its cover and great things come in small packages. It's a family owned and run business. By the looks of it, it can probably seat 40 people and I'm pushing it with the number. However from the time you walk in until the time you leave, you feel like you're at your great aunt's house. It was five of us and when you walk in, it's seat yourself and first come, first serve. The food came out piping hot and cooked fresh. My husband and brother-in-law got the catfish platter with red beans and rice (no pork) and Mac-n-cheese. My sister and I got the Nawlins boil that had a crab cluster, shrimp, corn, potato, boiled egg and a sausage link. My nephew got a shrimp po-boy with fries. The food was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fish and fries were crispy. The Mac-n-cheese isn't creamy but it isn't dry. Perfect amount of cheese and flavor. The red beans and rice had the perfect balance of flavor. The boil...my goodness the boil. They have the amount of the boil down to a science to make it a full meal. At first glance, I didn't think it would be seasoned well because the season looked like a dry rub. It wasn't saucy or juicy - until I took my first bite. I almost walked to the kitchen to kiss the cook. They are not skimpy on any of the food either. Even the po-boy had an overload of shrimp. When we were there, it was a packed house. There was also a large party who was rather disgruntled - not because of the service or food but because they were impatient. Remember this is a family owned business with 2 servers and maybe 3 cooks that cook to order. So if you're looking for quick food, this isn't the place. If you have time to sit, enjoy some great food with great company in a casual home style restaurant...this is your place.

Worst dining experience I've had in BCS…read more When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty. There was a table of two and maybe one table of five. My kids ordered the popcorn shrimp with mac and cheese from the kids menu, my husband ordered the shrimp and oyster "platter," and I ordered the gumbo flight. My husband and I also ordered cocktails. My husband's drink came out right before my kids got their food. I ordered my cocktail around that time, and this is where things really started going downhill. We could see my drink sitting at the bar, which was literally about two steps behind us. After waiting quite a while, we finally asked the guy shucking oysters if we could just grab it ourselves before all the ice melted. Meanwhile, our waitress picked up a table of 11 and essentially gave them her full attention for the rest of our time there. Another server eventually brought my husband's food. His shrimp and oyster "platter" consisted of 5 shrimp, 4 oysters, and fries. Had we known that was the portion, he honestly would have just ordered the popcorn shrimp. At this point, my kids had their food, my husband had his, and I still had nothing. We watched our waitress take the entire table of 11's drink orders, put them in, and then start delivering all of their drinks, including shots, without checking on my food once. She apparently didn't even realize she had never brought me my cocktail. At one point, we made eye contact while she was going back and forth with drinks for the large table, and she said something along the lines of, "Were you going to ask about your gumbo? She's gonna bring it right out." By then, my entire family had finished eating. After waiting even longer, we finally asked the guy shucking oysters for our check because our waitress still wasn't coming back to our table. When we got the bill, we discovered that instead of being charged for the kids meals, we had been charged for popcorn shrimp with separate orders of mac and cheese. We were also charged for my gumbo flight, which I had still never received. We ended up having to sort out the bill with the gentleman at the oyster bar and another waitress, who at least seemed apologetic even though she wasn't our server. Once the check was corrected, another server asked if I still wanted the gumbo because it "should be ready soon." At that point, everyone else had eaten, we had already asked for the check, and we were ready to leave, so I declined. What bothered me most was that our original waitress never came back to apologize, check on us, address the missing food, or even speak to us again, despite watching all of this unfold. I understand that restaurants get busy and large parties require attention, but the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, and taking a large table shouldn't mean completely forgetting about the customers you were already serving. Between the missing food, forgotten drink, incorrect charges, lack of communication, and having to rely on other employees just to get our check corrected, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Fried shrimp: The fried shrimp tasted very fresh and it was well seasoned. Actually, kinda spicy if you cant really handle spice. The fries also had similar spicy seasoning. The food was very tasted though and decent portion. Boil-N-Pot: There is so much flavor in this dish. It is pretty spicy as the food soaks up the spices. It was a very good portion and variety. There was mushroom, corn, shrimp, potatoes. It was very delicious and reasonably priced.

If you are the owners and care about community as much as your website says, take a look at your camera footage on August 11, 2026 between. 8:45 and 9:10am ish. Just the facts. We ordered and sat like everyone else. Received our food after the two groups behind us who ordered well after us got theirs. Most were Veterans so I appreciate that and would hope this was the reason. Once our food was dropped the server asked if there was anything else and I said I'd take a refill of coffee (empty). As I observed the room, the tables around us were getting really attentive service. Refills galore, conversation... I had to go to the counter to refill my coffee as I saw a server walk past our table and refill the cups at the window while ours remained empty. I got up, walked past all the servers and went to the counter where I got my first cup of coffee. After a while without anyone checking on us (again, all other tables were getting some really good 5 star service) I went to the counter to get a refill of water (empty) and a young girl who I overheard said she just graduated from high school stopped me and asked if I needed a refill. She was your bright spot. The rest of the staff just stood talking as u walked past them. It wasn't even busy. As I saw tables about to leave they were offered a cup of coffee to go. Thanked for coming in and probably would give 5 stars on a review. I made eye contact to the middle age female server and she quickly looked away. So did another young server who I saw refilling coffee. My previous review of here was 5 stars. I recommended coming here because this is our second time and my first was outstanding. Not playing the card, just the facts. We are the three Asians on the 4 top next to the booths by the kitchen entrance. Watch the entire service. I have a rule that if I really like a place I'd go back and even buy a shirt if available. I bought a shirt after my first visit but I'll holster the shirt. I'm huge on loyalty and sorry to say, this was lost. We left the cold, unwelcoming restaurant without any one of your staff saying a word. Not the type of place I'd return to. I hope this review is useful and hope this is a one off and I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. ***update*** The operations manager reviewed the video with the owner and quickly reached out to me directly. They agreed with my assessment and said they immediately addressed the issue with their staff. Doesn't change what happened but pleased to hear they care and will take corrective action when needed. They offered to refund my bill. I declined as I am just thankful they swiftly dealt with my concerns.
