I recently purchased a 1965 Buick Riviera that had a complete new exhaust system installed by the previous owner. Ever since I took delivery there was an exhaust rattle that was driving me nuts. I was finally able to determine that the right side exhaust pipe was hitting the coil spring. I called Lou's Custom Exhaust, spoke with Paul and had an appointment the next day. I brought the car in and explained that the car was nearly 100% period correct including the exhaust routing and wanted to keep it that way if possible. Paul completely understood and stated they would loosen all the clamps and try to rotate the pipe away from the coil spring. A perfect solution that would keep everything stock appearing. Fifteen minutes later Paul brought me into the shop to show me what they had done. They were able to rotate the pipe away from the spring allowing an inch or so of clearance just as he said he would do. No drama, no rattles, just a job well done. I know that other shops would have just brought out the old air hammer, whacked everything into submission and called it good enough. They would not have taken the time to do the job right as Paul and his crew did. Kudos to Lou's Custom Exhaust. Pathetic location and service. Had catalytic converters replaced for an almost insultingly expensive price (I was in a rush at the time and would have gladly gone to my trusted shop if they were not booked up). The installer gave me both a rude attitude and terrible job. Left with a gaping exhaust leak that was fumigating the car's interior. Totally dangerous if I sat and idled. I DIY all my own stuff besides exhaust work because I don't have a welder. Went home and let the car cool down. Took at look at the cat, they burned a hole through the sleeve coming off the cat, tried to gob it over with bead, and left welds that looked like a 8 year old's handiwork with a hot glue gun. Went to my regular shop after a week of hearing the obvious PAT PAT PAT PAT of an exhaust leak. Had to get them chopped off and re-welded in. Absolute jokers, absolutely overpriced absolutely never going there again and recommending nobody else ever goes there when I hear somebody is looking for exhaust work. read more

First and foremost, I am a business owner myself. I realize my work and time I devote to making my customers, or clients happy make my business what it is. With that said, here is my .02 (two cents). I left a review here that did not go through for some reason a couple of years ago when I decided to give these particular people my business and more importantly time. I cannot speak for how they have changed at all (if any), nor speak for all of lous custom exhaust franchises as a whole. I mean, I randomly see their "lous custom exhaust" sticker or decal every now and then. Mostly on late model American cars as I've noticed, so I figured they must offer great service! Anyways, without going into too much detail and sounding like a novel, I did not have a pleasant experience here with my Lexus GS350. I figure I would come here and give them a shot and save a few bucks compared to my usual visit at the "stealership" (which quoted me a large amount for what I wanted done). I must say, being treated the way I did at this particular "Lou's" just that one time, I will gladly go pay more elsewhere. There should be a standard to conducting business regardless of skin color, age, or appearance in general and I felt I was disrespected in many ways coming here. Such a shame too, because I would have been able to provide them with much more business as I am a passionate car enthusiast that appreciates all makes and models and have various friendships with people in the car industry. Service, sales, and customization. As far as their work is concerned, there was nothing extraordinary about the metal work, or welds on the exhaust I got done. It gets the job done for most people which I guess is a good thing for those that are on a tight budget. Don't expect it to be show quality, or outlast the life of the car though. Also, for those that are removing any cat converters, be sure to ask for them back because some of them fetch a pretty penny. I asked for mine back and the gentleman told me it wasn't worth much. Common sense says it's worth something if he was not willing to give them back to me. I told him to keep it anyways.. I will leave the fine details out as I realize that when you talk too much, you look like a fool. As they say, "empty cans make the most noise". Lou's will not be touching any of my cars, and anyone else's cars associated to me. Try them at your own will, don't take my advice. You may have a different experience than me which is to be expected, not only because over time things change, but I am sure after this review, they will be more cautious as well. read more

Needed to get an inspection but first had to get my flex pipe fixed; someone suggested Lou's. I arrived, had the flex pipe replaced and was out of there in about 35 minutes, without having made an appointment. went in to have exhaust customized. asked t have an exhaust that would not give me a headache. can hear me coming from 1 mile away. half way home (4 miles) check engien light came on.called Paul he said its the "clip" went back he cleared the code 02 sensor and said drive it and letme know. light came right back on. called and was told he was "too busy" would call me back...no call back ..called again same response. turns out the streched the harness for the 02 sensor and damaged the sensor. had to get a repair kit for the harness, replace the sensor and grind down the new port that they fabricated for the 02 sensor. i think they try hard..but once they have your money...its over...too bad. read more
