We had a great country breakfast at The Breakfast Company. Local vintage photos line the walls of the dining room. We were seated quickly. Our server, Shiloh, was friendly attentive. Beverages came out immediately and food appeared quickly. I had the Philly Combo with 1/2 biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs over hard and bacon. The eggs and bacon were perfect. Biscuits and gravy is my guilty pleasure. The half order was generous and hearty, for sure. My husband had 2 Eggs with hash brown and rye toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The portion of hash browns was generous. The rye toast was an artisan bread that was delicious. This was a great breakfast for $6.50. They charge a premium for credit cards. We paid cash. We've been here in the past. It gets busy during Sunday brunch, etc. This time, it was 9am on a weekday. It was rather quiet. Our server was friendly and efficient. The service was not great I can tell you that I usually leave a good tip but I can tell you today that wasn't the case. I is in a great location by the Walmart and other small business. With So many choices on the menu, it's hard to choose which one you'd like to try! Every one I've tried is delicious. I love the farmhouse Benedict for breakfast. The lighter side of the menu has some good choices. Like the avocado chicken wrap with yogurt or fruit & it is good! Their omelets are delicious & you can't lose with choices or pancakes or crepes. The Breakfast Company is extremely spacious and bright. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food came out (incredibly) within minutes after ordering. That should be good, right? I'm not so sure. I ordered the traditional American breakfast. Bacon, eggs, home fries, and a pancake instead of toast. I also added a side of grits. Yes- a brotha was hungry! The result? Despite the food coming near instantly: Eggs- warm Bacon- undercooked, cold Home fries- cold Pancake- cold (butter would not melt on it) Grits - watery, hot Due to my schedule, I was not able to send it all back. Ok ..., this is so disappointing. Being a native Greencastle and not many choice of local mom and pop restaurants....this place is my family choice for brunch. For being in a restaurant business for last 12 yrs I have never seen the dirtiness in this restaurant. Service isn't that great either. I'm constantly getting up what my family needs Food is great ... always. The service and cleanliness need to be improvised. If they stand around and chatting like I witnessed today they have time to clear the tables and floor that was left dirty for about 15-30 mins. I applauded the dishwasher came out to clear one night table. She deserves the tip. Not the waitresses who only care about the counter customers. This is everything you expect a breakfast-centric diner to be. They have a few lunch options but it's mostly breakfast as the name implies. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of healthy options and just how low calorie they were. I would come here just for that. We were looking for a breakfast spot while visiting family in Greencastle and saw this place on Yelp. Our Greencastle family had never tried The Breakfast Co do we took them out for the treat. We arrived in the late morning and there wasn't many people there (which quickly changed shortly after). It is much larger in the restaurant than I would have guessed from the outside, and it is very spacious, clean with nice decor. They had a great menu selection and we made our selections. The children picked basic things from the children's menu ( chicken tenders, bacon etc) and my partner ordered an omelette with hash browns. My daughter and I both ordered stuffed French toast. Our waitress questioned us if we might want a half order as it was pretty large, we both changed to a half order. We were all very happy with our orders and the half orders of Stuffed French Toast was perfectly sized and delicious. We'll keep it on our list of stops when visiting Greencastle! read more

This was once a favorite spot for my family and I but the past few visits haven't been the most pleasant. The most recent one took the cake, we had some time before and eye doctor appointment for my wife so we decided Breakfast Co since it was fairly close to the doctors office. Not even greeted, but was told dealers choice on the back booth seating, was not asked if we need a booster or high chair for our toddler, and every table was filthy. The young lady who told us this was dressed absolutely unprofessionally, sorry but I don't want to see staff's bellies when I'm trying to enjoy a meal with my family. Staff was just rude and short, arguing with each other and it wasn't busy so the entire restaurant could hear. Our food had sat under the heat lamp for a good 5-10 minutes so our meals were cold but while plates about burned our fingers. Just the overall vibe while we were there you could feel the tension between staff, however the elderly 'regular' men were definitely getting the young female server's attentions while we were barely checked on, just throwing that out there.. might be time to go back to re training and basics.. read more

This was our first visit to The Breakfast Co. We were greeted pretty quickly and seated quickly. We were greeted by our server really quickly as well. Dakota was nice and friendly. The food And service was good. The reason for the three stars is because the restaurant is not very clean. It is obvious that things are not picked up and cleaned under when the tables are washed off. The floor had a lot of stuff on it as well. My silverware was dirty and stuck to the napkin it came with. We were there about 10 o'clock in the morning. Under our booth there was something sticky, as well as papers from straws, etc. You can see where things were spilled on the floor and left to dry without being mopped up. The high chairs had a lot of food on them as well. It's more of a industrial type of setting. I would give 5 stars if it wasn't dirty. read more

I give them 0 . They can't cook sunny side up ever correctly. So, I've accommodated the cook for an over easy eggs.. and they're not capable of that as well. Two eggs over easy hashbrowns country ham, and toast.. The eggs cooked medium. The so call country ham is just appalling.Given a thin slice of sandwich ham far from country ham, which is thick not thin like a sandwich meat. They're passing off and lying to the customer of country ham. Hashbrowns burnt I sat and waited for a return waitress, which did not happen so I took my plate up to the front where all the waitresses were gathered in a circle and I politely stopped a waitress and said would you please have them fix this as over easy and not medium. They sent back the terrible ham. Sm bowl of hash browns with out the eggs . Not ok! A good cook would refresh fresh hashbrowns, and the meat which is not a sandwich piece of meat and they didn't either one of those two things. then I have a waitress that approaches my table finally to tell me only how rude I was well shit went loose then. first of all, she would be immediately fired for speaking to a customer in that matter and my question is who the hell are you gonna tell us something's not right you can say rude or not it is my job to let you know you did incorrectly and it is your job to make it correct. So before you go in there and order any country and don't be surprised, you'll get a slice of meat not country ham. What gets me is they shove this shit out not expecting nothing in return of anyone to say something and then when someone does then you're being spoken to rudely by a waitress for making a complaint will not and I have not been there for over a year now I have marked my word when I left there. I will not support my money in your restaurant ever. Be aware God forbid if you complain about your food cause they're gonna just make it. You're the problem, not them. read more

The food was great! And so was the service! Ok, I need to describe this a bit better. I brought my family in for Breakfast on a busy Saturday. I have 5 adult children and 1 grand daughter. Our servers name was Ana. She was very friendly and had already brought our drinks. While taking our order my daughter bumped her orange juice and spilled it. People. When I tell you that before the glass rim hit the table Ana nodded to some people in the corner and kept on the order. So professional! A tactical team of spill cleanup specialists descended on our table at a speed that would make even the best of Secret Service Agents jealous; then smoothly whisked the spilled juice into a strategically placed bus bin, wiped and dried the table in seconds. I'm telling you, the teamwork here was amazing! If this group was guarding Presidents, they would likely snatch the bullet out of the air with their bare hands and pounce on the shooter before a 2nd shot. Woot! We have been regulars at the Breakfast Company in Crawfordsville for a few years now. A coworker told me about the Greencastle location and I am glad she did. We stopped on Father's Day for breakfast. The restaurant is large, but there was about a 15-minute wait for a table (Father's Day, so they were busy). We opted for the counter where there were a few open seats. Service is so good at the Breakfast Company. The server was fast with fresh coffee (we watched them grind the beans) and the menus. I ordered bacon crisp, hash browns, eggs, and a side of the cinnamon roll french toast. My partner ordered the eggs Benedict. The food arrived nice and hot. So delicious. The bacon and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Just delicious. Huge breakfast and four cups of coffee for about $20. Amazing. This place is a must-try. read more

Had to remind them we ordered a decaf coffee halfway through the meal. Staff at register was a bit dismissive and walked away right after asking me to sign credit card slip. I like it. I like the how the sign on the outside looks like the logo from the 80's show Cheers. I like the big bar area for singles and the long booths for big groups. I like the big coffee mugs and John Dillinger stuff in the bathroom. I had a large mug of coffee, which was pretty standard in flavor. Silverware was a little spotty. Waitress was cute and friendly and wasn't completely dumbfounded when I asked if their gyro meat was actually gyro meat (though, not the long strands I'd hoped for but chopped, retrospectively appropriate for an omelette). Dudes in the kitchen appeared to be hard working and the place looked to be very clean from what I saw here. Blah blah blah.... restrooms were clean. My first visit to this new place.which sits in a half occupied strip mall across the lot from Walmart. It's a big space, with a polished cement floor and it feels a little cold to me at this point. It can really get loud. I had an omelette, cheese grits and rye toast. Very solid. I was alone so I didn't get to try (split) any of the specialty pancakes, which I will take some time as there are so many. So I'll Revisit this review once I figure out what I like. A cool young staff of waiters, experienced people in the kitchen and a winning formula of breakfast offerings: it feels promising to me. The coffee was good but the refills were wildly slow and they don't serve fresh half and half with the java. So I can't give it 4 stars yet, but I'll revisit after I figure out the menu a bit more. I know I will like it. Visit 2 Much better. I had a 2x2x2, the eggs were perfect. The pancakes helped me understand what everybody loves about the place. Most of all much better service, from the cool and diverse staff. This place is a favorite local spot now. Avoid the crowds, come in early. Next time i try the crepes. This place is a welcome edition to the grim Greencastle breakfast scene. It may change everything. read more

My hash browns had a hidden piece of pork/meat in it even though we specifically stated we can't eat meat. The oatmeal had a few small bits of black specks in it. My wife ordered the strawberry topped frenchtoast combo with two eggs. Strawberries were not fully thawed. Our waitress was extremely sweet, food was not. I heard about this place in a local chat group. I was not disappointed. I couldn't eat all of it. I am very picky on my biscuits and gravy. I like plenty of sausage in it. The biscuits and gravy here were a little plain. The bacon,grits and sausage was cooked perfect ,the pancakes tasted good and the French toast was delicious. I should have got cheese on the hash browns (flavor good but would have been a 10 with cheese) Everything was cooked the way I asked. The waitress was friendly but seemed they were spread thin.
