Called and explained my issue with the piece separating from the wand. The lady was nice but told me that I needed to talk to the owner. Owner was not available at that time. The next few days I had other plans but on a whim decided to show up today. I also decided to bring the wand which needed a part & an existing wand which had a Shepards hook just to show them what Im currently using. The lady was behind the counter and was very nice . A tall guy with a beard helped me. Not sure if he was Bert. He look at what I had, I told him my story and he asked to take the wand w/o the hook in the back. While I chatted some small talk, he replaced my part and used some glue or adhesive and now it works again. I can open & close my wood blinds w/o standing on the couch. Great customer service! And I wasn't charged anything for this small part! I looked thru the internet real hard to find somebody and found 2 places on the west coast and if they even had it, it would several weeks and not 100% sure, it would fit inside the wand. So lucky to stumble upon somebody locally that was willing to help & had parts. I had called a place in DG that pretty much blew me off and said we don't have parts . Use this place! They are caring and nice. I think part of some peoples issues is they cant or wont communicate properly with this company. I think because I brought my parts in and was calm and had no expectations everything was fine. The problem in today's world is, everybody wants things yesterday. Crazy. Worth a stop here. Several years ago, my dad had one of four identical blinds break in his bedroom, so we tried to buy a new one at Home Depot. It was no longer available, and a new one of a different color cost around $300. Then Dad found this repair shop. We dropped the blinds off, and they fixed it for around $40. One of our identical blinds recently broke, so we drove out to see if they can fix it. The friendly young man working the counter fixed it right in front of us! They also carry hardware to hold the door blind in place so it doesn't move when the door is opened. We couldn't find that hardware anywhere, and they had it in stock! Glad that a quality repair shop like this still exists! read more

We have used this business twice on two separate blind repairs and both times the work has failed on the first attempt to operate. Our first experience with Louvers Lane was when we brought a fabric blind made by Bali in for repair. The strings were broke and the blind no longer functioned. We brought the bling home, hung it and it still didn't work (left side did not drop all the way) even though it was "re-strung". So we brought it back and we were told "it works fine here". This blind still, to this day, does not close without pulling it from the bottom. We recently brought in another Bali blind for repair for the same issues. We just went end picked it up, hung it and it is having the same problem we had with the first blind. It does not close without pulling it from the bottom. We are attempting to gain restitution from this store. If we do and our issues are fully corrected, I will update this review. But so far, they're not returning our phone calls. 8-8-2016 as of this date, the store has not returned our call made to them 3 business days ago. It seems they know why we called and have decided to ignore our plea. 8-12-2016 Louvers Lane finally made contact with us after receiving my registered complaint with the BBB. They made arrangements to come and look into our complaints. Bert looked at the two blinds and admitted there were problems with each. He took the blinds back to his shop for correction. We now have the two blinds back and both are working properly. I have ended my action with the BBB and as far as I'm concerned, this issue is closed. That said, we have a one year material and labor warranty from Louvers Lane on these two blinds. Hopefully, we won't have to use it. read more

We had 2 of our Luminates cleaned and when they returned they were in worse shape then when sent them. The service person, Bert, told us to leave them stacked after he rehung them. We complied and that evening when we went to close them up they would not meet or close flat. The veins where all bowed. Called Friday night received call back on Saturday morning. Would be squeezed in late Tuesday to steam them. Received a call after 5 on Tuesday telling us he had 2 more stops before us and didn't know when he would get to us. Then Bert told us how slammed he was and would try to fit us in. Wow what a way to treat a cus toner that paid for a service that was poorly performed and now will be squeezed in. Waiting for repairs would give zero s stars if possible. read more

Wow! Really great service. When I called Bert he responded quickly and arranged to come to my house to pick up my blinds. I didn't have to lug them somewhere. Then he cleaned and returned them within two days. He could have done it even sooner but our schedules didn't mesh. He showed up right on time or texted to let me know he was running a few minutes late. That's a courtesy that I don't often receive from home service people. Bert knows his blinds. He was able to clean my extra long Hunter-Douglas shades; another cleaner I called couldn't do it. Also, when he brought the blinds back and reinstalled them, he checked all the hardware and replaced support clips that he thought showed some wear -- no charge! Fabulous. read more

Unless you have the patience and time to wait for your drapes to be dry cleaned, do not take your drapes here! My drapes were sitting in their shop for 2 weeks--untouched! I called 4 times and left 2 messages, to see when they would be ready. Because no one responded, I drove there to find out what was going on. Rang the bell 2 times before an older lady, Jean, appeared from right behind the dividing wall. It's like she was just standing there deliberately not wanting to acknowledge that two separate customers walked in and rang the bell. When I asked about my drapes, she simply said it's not ready and doesn't know when it would be ready. (In a very nonchalant way, may I add). As a business owner myself, I was completely thrown off by the blatant disregard, and inquired why no one answers the phone or bothers to call back when I leave messages. Her response, "Ma'am when we're working in the back, we don't hear the phone ring. I only work here part time, I don't know why no one returned your calls. You will have to speak to the owner". I waited around to speak to the owner, he responded with excuses of how they are very busy and didn't get a chance to get to it. Never an apology! Never an effort to actually clean the drapes for me. I will never come here again, and I suggest you don't either. Truth is, now a days we don't only pay for a service, we also pay for great customer service. Their customer service is simply subpar. I also just took the time to read the other reviews. There's one in particular where the customer is unhappy with service and cost. Seems like there was some confusion on the customer's end, but Bert's response to this customer was exactly what I would've expected after talking to him today... He seems like he just doesn't care about customer satisfaction. No apologies on his behalf whatsoever. Bert: as a business owner, apologies go a long way even when you're not 100% wrong. We needed 3 Floor-to-Ceiling Roller Shades cleaned after moving into a high-rise condo. They had survived several renters & a complete renovation; we thought about donating them but figured it was at least worth a try to clean them. So happy we did ! I made the drive out to Crest Hill to save time & the cost of picking up/delivering them back to Chicago. So worth my effort. They were wonderful, offering to clean them immediately ( I had lunch plans 30 mins from Crest Hill giving them 4 + hours ) I was able to pick them up that afternoon saving me a return trip from the city. They were clean, re-rolled & wrapped to protect them during transport, ready to rehang. I wanted to hang them immediately to ensure that they were completely dry. We could not be happier with the quality of their work, their efforts to make my life easier, their understanding that I was hopeful to have them done the same day & their VERY REASONABLE fee made this a business I will continue to support. They are friendly & very easy to work with. Thank you to the entire Louvers Lane team. I highly recommend. They are not miracle workers, but are realistic, so please be realistic with your requests & expectations. I gave them an amount considerably higher that was quoted by a competitor, Bert could have easily said that was their fee, but he did not, charging me a fraction of what I had been previously quoted from a major-brand-Blind Company for cleaning the same roller shades. I took two sets of faux wood blinds here and they did a great job. My white blinds were embarrasingly dirty and they cleaned them up very nicely. The price is so reasonable. Do you really want to clean each and every blind slat front and back? I don't. The people working there were very nice too. I will make this my new blind cleaning place. read more

Terrible experience with these people. Tried getting in contact with them during the last few weeks of the year and they were never there. Finally had to get there on a weekend and spoke with Ann who made me wait 20 mins while she helped someone else who came in after we spoke while I got my blinds out of my car. That was rude. Ann gave me a price quote of about 20 some odd dollars which included full cost of service call even though I dropped the blinds off at their store. So to my surprise Bert shows up and charges me $75 for nothing but a cord and end cap replacement and less than 2 mins to rehang the blind. I would normally not let something like this bother me but $75 for that service was absolutely ridiculous!! read more

I just had my Hunter Douglas Silhouettes cleaned by Bert. Impeccable service. HD Silhouettes are a significant investment and I was worried about cleaning them. Bert picked them up and returned them 2 days later; this included living room, dining room and kitchen picture windows. They honestly look brand new! As another reviewer stated, he also checked the hardware and replaced support clips. My kitchen Silhouettes actually had an unidentified splatter on them and it is completely gone! This review is being written much later than I intended but my sentiments about the quality of work I received from Louvers Lane have not lessened over time. On Saturday, December 12th, I called Louvers Lane after having checked Yelp reviews on other blind cleaning companies. After explaining what I needed done I was pleasantly surprised to be told that the work could be done that same day. I was expecting a wait of anywhere from three to seven days. Bert arrived early that morning, carefully took down and wrapped my sheer blinds and drapery panels and informed me that he would be returning with the cleaned goods around 2pm that afternoon to rehang the blinds and drapes and clean my valances (I was very happy that the valances did not have to be taken down for cleaning). He was a man of his word! Not only was the timing absolutely perfect, but the quality of the workmanship and the customer service (by phone and on-site) was simply outstanding. My drapes, blinds, and valances had not been cleaned in more years than I care to admit to, but they came out looking almost brand new. I was flabbergasted! I can not imagine using any other company to clean my window treatments and furniture. Louvers Lane is a company I would highly recommend without any reservations. read more
