    Chic'n Sandwich w/ FF
    Lawana L.

The Chick'n sandwich is deep fried and made from Mushrooms was pretty good. The special sauce was delicious and went well with the sandwich. The fries were ok. The Moscato Cake was amazing! Not too sweet and very moist!! The inside is eclectic, laid back and located near a hotel. The food is pricey but good. I look forward to going back.

Today, was the first time at the cafe! I am a new vegan due to health reasons. It will be tough to transition from being a meat lover to being a vegan. The cauliflower wings were flavorful and delicious! The meatloaf, greens and Mac and cheese were amazing. I could not wait to take a bite of the delicious pie. I'm not sure if I walked in with a smile on my face or not because I just got back from my Dad's gravesite as today is his birthday. It was appreciated to walk in to such friendly greetings and smiles! Thank you for the delicious food and the sample tasting of a smoothie! I will return on my next visit. The lady from Sacramento, CA! :-)

This place is one of my new faves. The selection of vegan food is amazing! I had the meatless loaf and potatoes - talk about yum!! I'm def coming back on Tuesday for taco Tuesday!! The gentlemen behind the counter are very personable and helpful with any recommendations - the sea moss gets sold out quick so call ahead if you can't wait. It's a quaint location with local artists features and a mini library. One of the coolest parts is that they feature different vegan chefs throughout the week. Can't wait to go back.

This was my first time visiting Love In Action Cafe. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly by the young man at the register. He asked if this was my first visit, and I let him know that it was. He went through the daily specials, with it being Tuesday, they had the taco Tuesday menu. After a few moments, I chose the cheesesteak and fries. I walked around the restaurant while I waited for my meal. I saw handmade jewelry, nutritional supplements, and even a free library in the corner. After I received my food, I took a quick picture. Wow! It looked delicious. And let me tell you it tasted awesome. If I didn't know it wasn't meat, I would have been totally fooled. The fries were cooked too perfection. Crispy outside, soft inside. Just like I like them. They made a fan out of me today. I'll definitely be back to try other items on theirs menu.

    Breakfast Sandwich!

This will definitely be one of our new go-tos. Everything was great but the breakfast sandwich is a must, their house lemonades are next level, their pie is as good as it gets but the vibe, atmosphere, and team is what made the experience. I'm not one to order an "avocado pineapple smoothie" but I did... just to see if they had at least one thing there I could honestly say I didn't like. I loved it. Can't wait to go back!

I came here yesterday for dinner with my partner on a Wednesday evening and giving this 2.5-3 stars. The positive was the beautiful energy of the cafe. We were greeted so nicely and everything on the menu was explained. They have a card you can receive punches for each visit. The location is connected to a hotel and most people I saw turned in and parked immediately at the front, but the restaurant entrance is around the corner of the hotel entrance with parking there. I have been plant based for 12 years so my review may be a little more harsh, my partner indulges in plant based food on occasion, however typically enjoys plant based meals whenever he does try it. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy the food much and for the price point- we spent over $50 total, we could've gone elsewhere with way more satisfying options (we ended up getting pizza afterwards). My partner got the Beyond cheesesteak and which wasn't bad honestly but not that good. I got the Beyond meatloaf that came with mashed potatoes, broccoli, and kale. Pictured for this dish was green beans so that's what I was expecting and received over cooked broccoli (mostly stems), bland kale, and 2 rolls. The mashed potatoes weren't flavorful at all and my entire plate temp wise wasn't hot, lukewarm at best. They do have many options for drinks, but one thing I thought was insane was that they sell Sparkling Ice flavored waters for $4 EACH and you can purchase 5 of those for $5 at the grocery store. Bring your own beverage unless you want one of their smoothies etc. We also purchased two slices of sweet potato pie (one of the slices was burnt) and for $6-7 a slice, it was small and not good at all. We took a bite and discarded the rest, as with the remainder of our food. I am happy we were able to support a black owned business. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back based off of the first impression. Best of luck to y'all.

Stopped by to check out Love in action cafe today for lunch. First thing that caught my by surprise after parking in front is that the main entrance is not the double locked doors on the front of the building facing the main street - but is actually accessed through the side entrance on the left hand side facing the building. After heading in was very pleasantly surprised at how much space and nicely decorated the interior was. I ordered the hoagie with impossible meat while my significant other ordered the the French toast platter with beyond sausage for brunch. Apparently the brunch menu is prepared by a separate chef than the non brunch menu so we had to pay on two separate terminals but that was fine. Was surprised to learn this cafe had only been open for about six months at the time of writing and is actually a 501c3 nonprofit whose goal is to help address under served communities e.g. Veterans, elderly and the disabled through separate programs that provide community services as well as transitional housing. The vegan cafe is part of their strategy to enable that goal. With that in mind, my Hoagie was very tasty and hot. French toast platter was nicely done. Will definitely come again. Only thing to be careful of is when exiting the parking lot, the row of white picket fences lining the parking lot really block the view of oncoming traffic (if they're not sitting in a taller vehicle e.g. SUV, pickup truck, 18 wheeler.

LOVE IS THE WAY HERE AT LOVE IN ACTION CAFE These brothas are kind, friendly, outgoing, and the area is well polished on the inside! The sandwich was amazing! They accommodated me well! The smoothie bowl was refreshing! & the pie was nothing less than amazing. If you're a true Charlotte native this area was occupied by a chicken shop prior - its had a complete 360 by this new owner. One of few vegan spots on this side of town! Nonetheless invest your money, time, and love into this company. They are doing amazing work for the community, this meal was actually a brunch collaboration with a local chef! They blocked off their menu just to service her food! How lovely! You won't regret it! The seed they have planted in the community will prosper and I cannot wait to see more of their good works! Thank you guys so much the food was delicious RUN YALL!! DONT WALK!!! ITS A HIT!!! GREAT & POSITIVE ADDITION TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD

It's right on the way to my yoga studio, so it's perfect for a quick in-and-out lunch, but honestly, it's also the kind of place where you end up lingering longer than planned. My usual order is the ABLT on rye with Boar's Head applewood smoked bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Simple, fresh, and consistently delicious every single time. I almost always pair it with the Spinach Bacon salad loaded with spinach, cranberries, goat cheese, tomatoes, toasted pecans, and brown sugar peppered bacon. The portions are huge and definitely shareable. What makes Rhino special is that it's more than just a deli. It's part neighborhood market, part coffee shop, part beer and wine stop, and part community hangout. They've got local products, grab-and-go snacks, fresh sandwiches, beer on tap, wine, outdoor patio seating, and sometimes even live music. It reminds me of the small independent spots I used to love in the Bay Area around Burlingame, San Mateo, and Palo Alto. Relaxed, local, welcoming, and full of personality. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere feels genuinely Charlotte. Not overly polished. Not trying too hard. Just good food, good people, and a place that locals clearly love. And if you are visiting North Carolina, you absolutely have to try Cheerwine at least once. It's basically a Carolina rite of passage. Cherry soda lovers will probably be obsessed. Me personally? Not exactly my flavor profile, but people here drink it like water, so clearly they are onto something. Rhino Market is one of those places that makes a city feel like home. Life is too short to not eat well, Charlotte. Get out there.

You order at one window, grab an extra items, pay, then they'll call your name/number. Super easy. I ordered the Rhino Club described on the menu as: Boar's Head Branded Deluxe Ham, Lower Sodium Turkey, Applewood Smoked Bacon, provolone, bibb lettuce, tomato, dijon vin on choice of bread. The ordering and payment process was easy. I was solo so I took a seat at the bar area to eat. Sandwich looked good when I unwrapped it, large slices of toasted bread with fresh lettuce and tomato. The strangest thing was, on the left side of the sandwich were several slices of deli turkey rolled up. On the right side of the sandwich were several slices of deli ham rolled up. I hadn't seen a sandwich made like that before. It felt like half of a turkey sandwich and half of a ham sandwich as opposed to a ham and turkey sandwich. Was it bad? Definitely not. I waffled between a 3 and a 4 star for this one but felt generous because, overall, I liked the vibe of the place.
