This was hands down some of the best vegan food I've had. Been mostly plant based for about 7 years now. I'm so sad I didn't find out about them sooner on my visit to Charlotte. But I will absolutely be back!!! Adie was absolutely excellent in explaining the menu and sharing her favorites! (I gave her a personal to let her know how wonderful her recommendations were) The fries are delicious. Seasoning so so good! I had my mouth set on the biscoff cookie shake, they only had Oreo. I tried it but it was just ok. Highly recommend giving out bigger straws b/c it was a headache sucking that shake through lol. I also would recommend using coconut milk instead of oat milk. It just has an aftertaste whereas coconut not so much. The best thing and the shocker for me and my non vegan friend, was the Carolina Hot dog. It left me screaming and then speechless. My friend even did a happy dance lol. We are contemplating taking another drive tonight before they close b/c I shared it with her as she was too nervous to get it, we want more lol. We both love hotdogs and I can't say that I've ever had a really good vegan one. This was it!!! And honestly can't tell it was vegan from the texture, to the chili, the special sauces, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! And the Philly cheesesteak came a very close second runner up. The bread stood up to the sauces. And they are saucey but I don't mind it at all. Sautéed peppers, onions, the protein...this was just good clean food and not too much processed. As a vegan chef (Mama Nicca's Homemade Things) and someone who loves to be creative in this vegan world of cooking, this truly was OUTSTANDING. I will probably return every time I'm in Charlotte. This was my second time having Mike's! The reason I came back was because I had it the first time before a Jhene Aiko concert in Greensboro, NC! I was happy to return & of course I got the same thing I had the first time! I enjoy trying new things however I wanted that bratwurst again. Mmm ;) .. I decided to try this place via Uber Eats. Everything was well packaged and arrived warm! I got the El classico burger. I appreciated the char on the burger, it left more of an authentic real meat impression. My gripe was this was a MESSY burger when eating. Everything was sliding everywhere juices running down the arm. I'm happy we were given napkins. But the eating experience wasn't anything to write home about. Though I understand some people like that type of eating experience, not for me. I ordered both the fries and the sweet potato tots. My husband and I devoured the sweet potato tots. First time trying Mike Vegan grill. My brother orders from there often. I had a taste for a vegan burger and didn't feel like cooking it so I decided to see what I could have delivered on DoorDash. The food still arrived warmed, and I appreciated the detail in the packaging. I got the classic burger with special sauce and a side of fries. Burger with seasoned OK, I did like the special Sauce. I found my favorite place to eat in North Carolina, and Mike's Vegan Grill is it! I have enjoyed vegan food before, not enjoyed some before also. I am always willing to try places like this and see how the food has changed, improved and or what's new things are available. I saw they had "shrimp" on the menu and thought, this is what I will go with even though the pepperoni pizza looks good. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla and took a seat. My good arrived and I noticed it smelled great, was more of a soft quesadilla and not a firm crispy one, so I grabbed a fork and knife. Digging in, I was really impressed with the "shrimp" appearance and texture, looked like the actual shrimp I had for dinner the day before. Then the joy really started - eating has started. HOLY SH...... this was good. LOVED the food, the taste was incredible and far beyond what I expected. Looking forward to going back to eat here again and work my way through the menu. read more

I pulled up to the shopping center and had a little bit of trouble seeing the restaurant, as is down the walkway. But once you walk towards the restaurant, you'll see the sign in a friendly worker greeted me as I walked into the restaurant. I explained to the cashier that I was not vegetarian and she recommended the chicken Philly and fries, so that is what I ordered. After about 10 minutes, my food arrived piping hot, and it was delicious. I would say this is probably the best chicken Philly I've had in a while, and who would think that it wasn't even made with real chicken. I was meeting my friend at another place and I saw the sign for Mike's and we quickly changed our minds. I visited the food truck in Greensboro. I was so excited to "stumble" across this location in another city. I definitely wanted to try their brick and mortar. It is so nice on the inside. It is very vibrant! The music was upbeat. I absolutely love the decor. The staff was very friendly. My friend order the tuna sandwich and I ordered a bratwurst. She said her sandwich was really good. My bratwurst was banging! I'm not vegan, but I would become one if I could eat their food every day. The slaw and peppers were perfect with the sauce. The word to best describe this business is consistent. Mike's is a really nice place for someone who may be transitioning or testing veganism. But for me, a more conscious vegan who avoids soy, this was not it. I had the crunchwrap, "chicken wings," sweet potato tots and ice cream. The best thing was the sweet potato tots which says a LOT. The Crunchwrap was greasy, barely held flavor and was not like a Crunchwrap from Taco Bell as it was missing that cheesy goodness and pico de gallo/lettuce/etc. The ice cream was pretty good too, they gave a big portion for $7 (it lasted me a whole week). I also want to acknowledge the customer service. The menu is PACKED so it took me a few minutes to decide on what I wanted. The rep answered every question I had in an honest and patient manner. After our gym workout the hubby and I were hungry. He asked if I wanted to try Mike Vegan Grill. I obliged, so off we went. The restaurant is in a shopping center. There is a walkway you will have to go through before you will see the restaurant on the left side. We entered a semi spacious restaurant, although the entrance is cramped since the register is directly in front of the entrance door. We waited to order our food, but the wait was not that long. My hubby opted for the El Classico burger with seasoned fries, watermelon lemonade and a biscoff cookie milkshake. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak; however, I wanted the gluten-free bun. The restaurant did not have gluten-free buns for the philly cheesesteak so they just made me a burger and put the cheese and veggies on the burger. We received the milkshakes first which I thought was strange. I would have preferred for the milkshakes to come last. Finally, we received our food after a 15 wait. I started on the fries. The fries were not bad. The vegan cheese was pretty tasty. Next, I tried the burger. I took the top bun off because it was too much. I would prefer some of the bread be scooped out. The burger was also good. It tasted like a real beef burger. Finally, I tried the milkshake. It was absolutely delicious. My hubby didn't like the milkshake because he is used to milkshakes made with cows milk, so I drank/ate his too. Customer service was excellent. We were checked on multiple times, and all of the staff were friendly. Although pretty pricey for what you get (we paid $71 plus tip), I would definitely recommend Mike Vegan Grill to those looking for a decent vegan restaurant. Be warned, you are going to pay a lot to eat this food. I have frequented this place for years when it was a food truck. My go to place to get vegan food. This place is cute. It's in a suite among other stores/restaurants. The service was fast. The food was good. I usually stick with the hot dogs. My fiance who is NOT vegan enjoys the burgers. It is very very pricey though. 3 hot dogs, a burger and 2 orders of fries was almost $50!! That's a lot for fast food but we all know we pay more for vegan/plant based so it is what it is. Excited about having a physical storefront for Mike's Vegan Grill. Went with my friend on Sunday. It wasn't packed which was a good thing. The set up is really nice (decor). The selection of food options is amazing. I wasn't sure what I wanted but got the Colombiana and my friend got the cheesesteak. They both were 10/10, and let's not forget the lemonade. I got the peach lemonade and she got the blueberry lemonade. I need to go back bc there are others I wanted to try. The lemonades aren't sweet but just right. The food was flavorful. Let rewind to the sweet potato tots. Literally smashed all of my food and that's rare. I was craving a burger on Sunday and glad I went. I'll def be visiting again. This is a hip vegan joint located near the university. There is plenty of parking in the a shared parking area. Went on a weekday afternoon, with my food came out relatively quick. They appear to have a line the entire time I was there. They had one register open. I highly suggested, get another due to demand if possible. The staff checked on us several times which was great. We were able to even meet the owner. The food is a bit pricey for a vegan burger with fries and a beverage are spending $25ish dollars. When I moved to Charlotte in 2021-2022, Mike's had not yet established a permanent location in Charlotte, so I would drive to meet the truck on the day they came to Charlotte. Late post! Tuesday my friend and I went to Mike Vegan Grill! Now let me say this no I'm not vegan but I do enjoy the food. I got the Hola Amigo burger and the chili cheese fries with a peach lemonade. This burger was very good and it has a little heat with jalapeño peppers and nacho cheese. For me the plant based burger tastes like real meat! The food was good, some of my fries had a little too much seasoning. Overall I will definitely be back. I didn't get the guys name who took our order but, he was nice and was able to answer all questions. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fun and laidback. I loved the art work, from the neon lights to the paintings and some of the artwork shows how Mike started out as a food truck. The menu is vast and they have desserts as well. I love eating great food because I am a true blue foodie! I am a new pescatarian and decided to try Mike's. Friday I ordered online for lunch. I had cheesesteak, sweet potato tots, and Biscoff cheesecake $27. My husband and I went today and sat down inside two burgers, one order of sweet potato tots, Biscoff milkshake, fountain soda and tip $51. When we were leaving I ordered another Biscoff cheesecake, chocolate chip cookie and lemon raspberry bar $16. The milkshakes and desserts great but small. Let me say the staff was accommodating and wanted to make sure we were good which is refreshing these days. The food was very good but for the cost the portions could be bigger. I added this business to Yelp on 1/24. I really enjoyed the soft opening experience better than the grand opening. Mike personally opened the door upon entrance, he greeted us with a smile and inside we received great customer service. I ordered the fiesta fries and a hotdog. They delivered! Always good when vegan food doesn't give you that "vegan taste". The "meat" taste like meat and the "cheese" taste like cheese. The atmosphere was a vibe. They made it a super fun place to dine in! Everyone was super friendly and accommodating as well! Food! We got the Philly cheesesteak, cheeseburger quesadilla and fiesta fries for $42. The Philly was the star of the show! Hands down a must get when you stop in. The veggies were still crisp and not soggy. The secret sauce.... Imma need the secret because it was top tier. Mike's is normally a bit far for us, but we were going to a game at UNCC and give them a visit. We are very glad we did. We both had the Carolina Burger, it was very good, I have not had a burger with chili and slaw in more than 8 years. It was cooked perfectly and the chili was very good. I had regular fries, they have a little spice on them, very good. My wife had the chili cheese fries, she really enjoyed them with the chili being so good. They have a large menu with a lot other fast food type vegan food. I saw some good looking vegan deserts too! We will go back for sure. read more

I'm glad to finally see a storefront location here in Charlotte for Mike's Vegan Grill. The time, attention, & dedication that was put into making this location an "it"spot shows. From the "Mike's Vegan Grill" sign when you first walk in, to the greenery decor throughout the location, to the Instagram-able life-size burger in the seating area, there is a lot of representation of the name and history of the truck. Food tried: (10/10) Shrimp Quesadilla (10/10) Biscoff Cheesecake (9/10) Po-Bo Sandwich: The shrimp on this will have you questioning if it's vegan. That plus the special sauce is a hit. (8/10) Oreo milkshake: This a solid milkshake. Personally it tasted like a sweet cream base versus a vanilla base making it too sweet for me. This place is IT! It's everything and more. There were so many options to choose from. The ambiance was great, friendly service and it's made fresh to order, so it took about 10 minutes to get our food. I am vegan, but my boyfriend is not and he said it was hard to spot the difference between the plant based options and the real meat he eats on a day to day. The food was full of flavor, hot, and prepared so nicely. Our food looked amazing. There's great music playing in there and there is also slot machines (which was cool, but I didn't try them). Every single thing on the menu is 100% vegan! This store actually has vegan pastas and pizzas as well, which is more variety than the other Greensboro location -even though we love that one too. My husband usually doesn't like vegan food, but when he gets the hot dogs and sweet potato tots here, it's a different story. We will be back! 10/10 read more
